What's she gonna do? Brother? When Jeff Townsend Media runs wild on you, Molly, We're live, okay, So this is it? This is uh, you know, part of the part of the build of our experience. Look, I FLI fight a cigar and by it in my hand and then you know my wife won't if you lighted. The funniest part about this broadcast right now is how long it took us to figure this out. I'm sitting here with Big G also known as Tirists right now to the world. But I call him Big G, and I'm he's got that look out of space. I got this look on my face because we just spent the past hour and a half trying to do a video call and we've had fourteen conversations on the telephone. Yes, what I mean this is this is how my podcast is gonna go for the rest of my life. Either this is gonna be the shortest podcast show in the history of the world because I can't figure the damn thing out, or people are just gonna stop talking to me. I'm like, I'm pushing the button. I'm just and I spent forty five minutes looking at myself, so I started questioning a lot of things. All right, I'm not really sure about this beard anymore. I gonna stare at it for so long, like no one told me I look like Abe Lincoln. Well let's say once you're gonna look at it. That's why I'm sitting there with his hat on and these headphones and Lacy's hat. The first one I sweated through because I got so fushible. I had to switch added trade hats. So I started out with a new, nice, new hat. And now I'm this well, so I'll send you one of these. Fine, uh fine, Taylor made chap pose. Oh look, you know you look. All coaching were fine, you know, no more die on the beard and stuff. Yeah, a little bit of great. It's the new thing and people, I don't know, people dig it, I guess, you know, one like Facebook and stuff, you know, congratulations on the little league stuff, Like I just is there. I just can't. You know, baseball is pretty cool, you know, the coaching stuff. You know, I'm still a few well I get to step in that genre, but I do a little bit of it with stupid with the young kids. So it's a it's definitely an experience. It's it's been unbelievable. It started out, it's just, uh, you know, because you can only make it with your schedule, you know so much. Then uh as my schedule who was freed up? But I just took it on and it turned out everything cleared up at the time when you know, the boys were getting ready for the States, and uh man, it's the longest season. I mean they just finished a month ago and practice starts in two weeks. So either I have to take either renew my contract with the Baseball Commissioner or figure this out. Because they talked up there for you, for you, for young boys playing baseball. Amazing. Of course, listen, there's there's draft day. We're going to assessments. There's a the draft. I went last year, and I'm talking about these boys are seven, eight and nine, and Butche's six, so he's skilled up and they're literally bargaining for hours. Okay, we'll give you him if you give me him, because I liked his brother. I'm sitting there going what happened the line above? You? You you come with me? Hey, you four go over there? You go, and then someone takes the kid with the glasses. He turns out to be the best player and we move on. But now it's the States in the playoffs, and it's uh, the funny thing is this, you know, I said it to Nobody understood me on the baseball field, but I kept telling him there was politics and everything. Oh yeah, a little little kids sports because everyone's got the next you know, that's Kervy Jewel, you know enough. And I think I was the uh, I was the toke. I think I was the token rotun the guy because there was there was a couple of guys that were in their sixties who said, I remember you when I was in high school and I had to walk the third Yeah, I get that now, which is nice. It's always nice. But remembering his first dance was did somebody call your model? Oh? For real? Really seriously, I realized I was doing in the forties. God, Doug, Well the people's names. Yeah, why don't do that? So catch me up, catch me up. I saw I I you know, I follow your stuff. And you were in South Africa. Yeah, yeah, I was in South Africa. First. Who's a you know, one of a close personal friend he uh uh. You know, when friends come to you with great ideas, it's never a great idea. Um, he had a promoter who wanted to book me in him in South Africa, and uh, you know, and that's where he's from. He doesna get a chance to go home much. Deep. Yeah, the idea if he'd fly us in early, he'd get a few extra days. Right when I go on the road, it's like, I go, there's closer I can get to the day, and then I'm out as soon as possible, you know, because I'm trying to get back to the kids. So I don't want, you know, for too long. So I'm like, you know what, this is important to you. You're my boy. I got you. So we're going. We're going five days early vacation in South Africa with with my dear friend. Uh. They booked our travel accordingly. After the first eight hour layover in Toronto, where um, I was like, okay, this is did you bother look at it at the ticket? And then we had a twelve London. Are you supposed to be going in the other direction? Yeah? Well we went to Toronto to London to Africa. But each layover got longer and it was twelve hours in London, but twelve hours in an Air Canada lounge in London I was like, well, this is um and uh we had him spend. It took us basically two days to get to Africa, so he actually got one extra day with his family. And being stuck with me, you know, in the airport lounge for twelve hours, is not with me just staring at him, going did you bother to look at the tickets? Any cross your mind? And he's such a character anyway, he was probably losing his mind. Oh, and he was like you know, and his poor mother, I mean, because you know, he lives to South Africa. He doesn't get to go home ever, waiting for him with a full table of dinner for two days and he didn't show up. He literally pushed me out of the way to see her son. I thought. I thought I was watching like an episode of Color Purple with desist got back together, you know, like she was just like you. And I was like, there's that's what it's like to have parents. So I'll just stand right here while this woman's crying and holding your fain. So I'm just gonna stand here for a while. So forty five minutes later to introduce yourself. Yeah, I was like, hey, I'm I'm gonna go so I just you know, but uh, the promotion was great. Um, I wrestled, actually I wrestled the legend. It was the Tornado. He was he's been a South African, like the main stay. He's been the guy in South backgroup for about twenty years or whatever, and he came out of amit Um to wrestle me, which was kind of cool. Um. And actually Pj's father, uh was the Pink Panther who was like the man in South Africa and he used to book off the choice and stuff. So um, but it was funny. PJ worked a local hero guy and uh, a local hero guy assumed that PJ had been soft or whatever, so knocked out with the left chick in the ring and I'm like, well there's one finish, two three, that guy's out. He just gotta achieve it. Oh then uh yeah, but it was a good trip and stuff, and the triple wasn't too bad. But uh, it was cool. South Africa was cool and I literally stepped off to play in South Africa and then turn around we had nine days of ten and a tapings to go too. So well it's uh the double edged sword, right, you gotta be careful what you asked for. Yeah, you want to be busy working. I mean that's and I think a lot of guys don't realize that, you know, there's so much work out there, you know. And uh, I've been lucky, you know, because I had I got a big mouth to go with the big body. So you know, I started doing the Fox Newest thing with Greg gut Field and that ended up pretty cool, and um, that's a lot of fun. I will continue to do that, uh periodically, like I think I'll be there one more time this month, and which is cool, kind of cool to so that. You know, wrestlers are more than just it's all the bad. We love that. But you can talk. I've always said that. And we were while we weren't talking on this because we couldn't figure out the technology, I was saying to Lacy, I'm like, you know, one of the few, uh you're to me, you're right up there with like the Matt Striker uh knowledge of the business. And that's a compliment. So I don't know where you. Matt is literally was my he was my ears and eyes. It was like, go by there, that guy's Mattie. Like Matt was my guy. Behind the scenes, when I was my time in the WWE and him and I cheated drough the entire NHD. I had all the answers to like how much the book magazine cop prices were because Matt was feeding it to me. Y'all gimmicked my Matt. I can tell it now. It doesn't matter, but uh we had a pinata contest and Striker gimmicked my things. So I had a everyone else had their pros I had. I had an inside at track, but back Deep Solve. I'm gonna have a man on the podcast them. But you know the point of you guys that I mean, wrestling knowledge, just fans of the business, and then you can talk I mean people to your point. You stared and looked at yourself with that beard, but you're an intelligent cat, and it's funny that you know. That's that's the point for me of doing these things, because I know you've done you know, interviews and people get to talk to you. But they get surprised, right, I think you probably can't more times than not after the fact that they go, WHOA, I wasn't expecting that. Yeah, I get that, especially with like like die hard wrestling shows, you know, because um, you know, when they see a character that's that's a you know, that's a problem that we have in this business. They don't say. They don't realize we're playing characters, you know. And and when we go home, I'm not in a track suit. You know what I'm saying. I got don't they don't understand that sometimes, you know, that's what a lot of the things that happened in the press of stuff, like you don't realize that it's not the guy you grew up watching on TV for you know, two hours a week. It's a it's another guy, you know. And and I went to college. I had life before wrestling. It's just that I grew up a die hard fan. And we used to have that conversation. You used to yell at me all the time, like quin trying to be the wrestler you wanted to be as a little kid. That's you are. You have to be what well you need you to be, you know, because she's like, you're you're you're a fan trying to wrestle. Stop being a fan trying to wrestle, you know, and uh, because you want to do everything. You know, you want to put a guy at figure four the leg while from my into your deathlock I wanted to be or whatever. And then he's like, yeah, you do it that everybody, everybody can do it, Like you're a big guy. This is what you have. So uh, fans don't get that. You know, It's it's funny, it's funny to watch. But I dig it because you know, as you know people, you get to go ah, they because I think it's cool that they don't get it, you know, I think that's the mystique of it. I just hate. I hate when it turns in the other direction when they try to use that, you know, against you, and we won't even we won't even go there. But they you know, people have to understand the cat they see for two hours once or twice or three times a week isn't necessarily the guy that's in front of them. Yeah. So it's like, let's us go ahead out. Like I want to touch on on talk. You mentioned Snoop earlier. When's the last time you talked to him? Um? Actually, his his manager Kevin and I we became the sufferable like you know in Snoop. But it's like every once in a while, it's like a text message here or there. I don't know the West coast as much as I used to. And um, a few times I was supposed to do a couple of podcast shows with him or his or his show. It just wasn't able to do it. And I know there was when some talks are doing something with him and was he's got a movie that they're working on this and they might want me to be in. But for the most part, when I got away from from Snoop, I stayed away like it was just right. W We never really did anything together while I was there, and then um, then he was gone for most of the time. I was like when I was up there and he's back now again. I believe he did a show recently with them, But we just don't ever reciate me in the same surf at the same time. So when we do see each other, it's all off. But like I'm horrible about you and you notice video I'm horrible, but it's not in front of me chances, you know, and it's just we don't really make plans, you know, but when you when you can catch up, it's cool. Um, my boy, was we were watching uh the All Star Game and uh the home run Derby and that right after that, they had the Celebrity Softball and Snoop you know, Snoop is on it. And that was my boy's introduction to Snoop Dog. So I was trying to tell him stories. He looked at me like I was crazy because that guy's that guy's great. That look how entertaining he is? Now what h So he introduced himself to a new generation. But so Snoop Uh, let's just transition a little bit too, to a young lady, I know, and give me your thoughts if if you want to, if not, I mean, tell me about Sasha Banks. What do you think about what he's doing? Um, Sasha. It's funny because Sasha had two tryouts and they're like, yeah, I don't know, I don't know. And then um, I ran into her and you know, her uncle had called me and I just went to William Regal because she was in Boston. They didn't invite her again, yea, And I went to Regal and I don't ask him for anything, but I asked for a solid if you could just give her, you know, and I just pay it forward. Someday someone else is gonna need it. And she knocked it out of the part, you know, um, and the rest has been on her. But um, I don't follow the product as much as I watching my clothes friends. M just three hours is a long time. Sorry, it is so um, but you know, UM, for me, I'm still I still look when I see like not only you know, I'm still kind of just give her the ball, you know, just give her the ball. Like when she was with me, she was took a step back to help me out, honestly, you know. And she never should have been a fund of the actual but you know, we made it work, and it worked on her personality stuff. But like she should add an opportunity to do her own thing for a long time. So and now she's back to another group. I just don't know if that's you know whatever. I don't the group thing once he never really works because the group thing's been done to death. And why would form a group of anything if there wasn't a championship for each person? Right? And now now you have you now you have to accommodate nine nine debas as opposed to three her The biggest thing for uh Trinity was when she when't right, it was her nose right. She had her nose. She had a nose busted busted pretty good, and that kind of stopped all the momentum that she was building. But I I agree she's She's one of the most athletic talented. I always loved her attitude. She can hit the scissor leg drop. Yeah, yeah, we know somebody in the chay. Oh yeah, we all in the ring for a second, Foxy, come here, one of my coats. Just just let be there, just just my nose coat. Just just stay there for a minute. So how's the baby. Uh, he's big, twenty four years old, six foot eight. Yeah, he's well, he's seventy two pounds almost four feet right, he's three. Um yeah, here for everything, running rough interview himself if he wanted to. Uh, I'm surprised. He's his little years. He's downstairs playing video games, so I not he's not coming up going let me talk. I got things to say and I'd love it. He makes me laugh, tapings with me and his new things. He needs to get taped up, and uh, he's ready to go. He's ready to waff the aisle and uh, they could tell him he could go, and me getting ready to go out the wrestle Bobby lastly trying to explain to my son he couldn't go lucky knee like I'd betrayed him. Yeah, trying to do that's gonna come back to aunt you in therapy in about ten years. Yeah, you know, but uh, he's had some tough time. I mean he had one where I was beating his uncle up in the ring and Grandpa made the save. Oh and you know, I'm sitting in the car driving back and my son hasn't really said a word, and he's like, Pa stopped you. And I was like, what, pah stopped you? He beat you up. I was like, no, he beat daddy up. We did business. But he said it in a way because he knew what was coming. Bedtime's coming. So I think he just put that all day to throw me off my game, like, oh, I just stet ready for bed. Pa stopped you. But he was very confused, you know, seeing all that. You know, but that's actually one of my career highlights, being in the in the ring with me. That was pretty cool. Um, he looks great. I saw him. Well, I guess it has to be six seven, eight months ago. But the guy's like the tongueing Dick Clark. Yeah, yeah, he's actually uh, well he's missing at great mister Toyota. Um. You know, he wears a little collar at work now and stuff. Still got a knee brace unerneath his khakis. But you know in case, you know, he's always telling me, if you guys need me, you know, I'll take a step back and I'll help you. Thanks for saying he said it, just like that, I'll take a step back, take a step back. I'll come down to that level and get involved. Yeah, you know, but uh, he's one of the good ones. You know, we don't have enough stories about the good ones anymore. You always hear the sad stuff. But you know, there's a lot of guys that transitioned and you know, they raised a family, you know, and they and they do their nine to five and stuff. And he's one of the ones that was able to do that, you know, and look back and you don't ever you know, you'll never see him, you know, at an indie show and your your heart breaks because you don't want to see him in that ring anymore, you know, and you don't you know, we see it all the time. You know, the guy's got one more run in them, but you don't yeah, you know, but chick Chick Donovan, you know, or guys that there's some guys. That's the one thing like because I you know, and my people ask me. I learned a Deep South. That was where I learned, you know, I knocked myself out, learn on a roll, all that stuff. Like, I learned my trade deep South and then transition up. I never did indies right ever did them so after this last time, and at first I only did the bigginning shows and now once a while to do some of the smaller ones. And I meet some really interesting cats. And you know, I've been in the business twelve years. Yeah, how many matches? Six? Right? Okay? Cool? And all six were with the same guy. Yeah, you know, and he's he's a champ at camps out there. You know, it's almost a pride that I've never been one, almost enjoyed that I'm trying. I just did a camp that was that was really good. I spent the weekend with Mickey James and Nick Aldis. Oh yeah, yeah, I saw yeah, I remember that. I saw the ads for that. So we went up there and that was one of the conversations we had and a lot of the guys, you know, you introduced themselves and try to get over that. Oh god, it's to build him up. I'm about to get and then they realized I'm I'm a human being. What a show? And they went, uh, you know. One of the guys said, well, I've been doing this for twelve years. And I said, well, how old are you? And he said twenty nine. I said, man, so how many matches? And you know that's that's the answer, right wow. And I said, if it's if it's less than once a month for every month for the years, you don't, don't that That'd be my biggest uh piece of advice to these young cats. Stop saying you have eight years experience and you're you know, a better less than a weekend warrior, you know what I mean? Yeah, you know it takes what was it it took? You say? It took one hundred matches just to kind of figure it out. Yeah, and that's one hundred straight, not a hundred split between you get to the point where because I mean, you always get butterflies, but now you just went him out there, I don't worry about anything anymore. Well, before you know, if a guy called a spot or whatever. You're like, oh, I know where we're going. You know, once you get to that grizzled point where you just don't wait. Just the green importance. The cutoff was a clot got it? Why, oh, we'll get back to the brother got salary. We went. You know, the crowd wanted it. That's on fair days. You know, the crowd called it. They wanted it. You know, I had to give it to him. I'll listen to him. Yeah, listen to that. You know, it's so uh there there's few guys that and I'm sure I'll talk to a bunch of them and girls, but there's few are a few guys that spend time. We'll switch gears. Because he's always on my mind that I have a have a giant picture of him in my uh yeah, in my bathroom and it's uh, he's sitting there like this in the hospital bed. And that's Dusty Rhodes. And and you're you're you had you had a unique relationship with Dusty, right, but you you well go ahead tell I mean, give me a little bit, give me your feelings. It didn't start out great. I met him south. I walked up and introduced myself and he said I only talked to stars. I was like, coach made me say, Hi, I didn't even want to meet you like heroes. Like I literally was said it to my breath. Part fucked this guy, like and I was hurt, like I still hurt, like I was hurt, like I went. I stood there for fifteen minutes waiting to meet him. But he's like, hey, baby, I don't meet stars. I'm like, right, that's exactly it too. Right. Then I guess I'll go now, you know. And uh. Then VERCW was started and then um, towards the end, I cut a promo at a thing and he was like then he pulled me aside. He wanted to start talking to me and stuff like that, but I was still like mm hmm guns. And then when we talked to stars and he's like, oh, I'm talking to you, you know. And then um, I got released and went and went back to bodyguard and doing a thing. Um when I came back, uh, he was like waiting for me, and he was like, I saw your canvas, then we're gonna paint it now. And uh. I spent a lot of time with him, but he was really hard on me. He had to the same. You were tough on me, you because I was a football player and first and my mentor my all my coaches were tough in terms of expecting things and working you hard and pushing you try to get that bring the extrality. And Dusty was like that with me. He was very like they didn't give me any compliments, very few in the beginning, you know it. Come out of the office and bury a match I had. I remember the wrestled with Titus O'Neill, and uh, that is just something that I thought it was funny, and I cracked up and then cut him off. And then Dusty came out and said, who the hell are you laughing at anybody? You've been here before you and you went home, you know, and you the player, either player, go home, and you didn't talk to guys like that. So it started, you know, but it was never oh man, he's out there getting me. I hate him, he's burying me. It was got it. I got it. I got it because he was preparing me, you know, and he would say, like, you're one of mine, and you're gonna pay for my sins, you know, because I say, this guy's better than all your guys up there, and then they're saying, when he's on our guys, you know, and he was he never you know, when we always knew. And he was one of those guys that told me he goes, well, every meet there's two guys up there that don't want you there, and you need to remember that every time you get comfortable. And he was real real with me, and then it just kind of it turned into that. It turned into just me hanging out in the office with him, laughing at the other guys, and he didn't tell me stories from back of the real stuff or bringing in I'll see a match that he had with superstar Billy Graham. I'm like, what the hell was this? You got paid for this? And he was telling me I used to eat Billy up because all Billy had was like a bear hug and some other stuff, and Dusty wouldn't give nothing. He was like, I wanted I was a guest. He was like, the hell with him, I'm gonna get my stuff in and I did, like because if you look at that classic boat that bull row match they had together with a Cowbell, Graham got nothing in nothing like dust he gave him. There was no heat, there was no hole like dot like grab it, beat him up, beat him up, you know. And um I bugged him about that so much that he started booking the house shows. And me and Wyndham Wyatt would have cow bell matches today, beating the hell out of each other for like no reason other than because ill of him a big mom and we we thought, you know, this is where it's at. And then you know, because and we did that with when you gave us the and I know that video was somewhere where you gave us all that opportunity to come out and recreate a great match. And Hawkins and Myers came out. You don't ever hear these stories about Deep South, so I'm imagine to tell one anyone else, I have that on tape. But uh they were they did perfect and hit Man and then they and then it was matter and we put together a whole bunk house match. And I got stuck with Dan Rodim who knew nothing. We just told him he was staying like you staying just splashed as in the corner and go like I don't do it again, Like oh, like you're killing me, You're killing me, you know, And uh, I got we tricked Dave Taylor because I was I was Dusty and uh, I had give me my bad dadna to get color. And I remember Dave Taylor going bastard cutting cut him. It was like, nah, Baltans Bradley Jay had hit me with the boot and bust me olden. So, uh, you know, just having fun like that, and Dusty was, let us have fun like that, but learning the things you learned because you don't think about the spot. I don't think about the stuff when you're having fun, and that's basically what he's talking to do. And um, then when the whole funk of Source State happened, when triplets came and he goes the old man wants you to be your baby face, and I think he wants you to dance. And I'm sitting there going I'm gonna I'm gonna die, what like, who hates me that much? And I just said, I just go back and see Dusty this out. What did I do? I mean coming here? And He's like, well, we got this. Don't worry about it, you know, And then he turned on, Oh boy, here he comes, and then he turned on and then he turned on moves like Jagger and him, and I think made me dance with him all in the arena while I was just mad, and it just kind of came from there and then and he was like, you know, I said, well then I guess and help, and he was like, well, now only get in here and then and then uh oh, time out injury your stummy? Okay, all right, um, But like it's just one of those things where then once I got there, he would just come up on the roll and goes, well, I always said, you know, when Broda smelled the popcorn her to cry, you knew what to do, you know, and there's nobody up here. Each time he's my eyes, you know, it'd be like, you're gonna pay for us sins because you're wanting and him and what it is. And I was good with that. Yeah, tremendous. Uh, I like, who is that? What are you doing? Man? If you split their water on me, it's gonna be a beating unparked and be a free fight on podcasts. He's tried to get it. He didn't fail them. He was that's true. Son of the fifth member of the teenage greeting Nasa Turtles. So yeah, I could have used him. Yeah, so oh boy, or I sat, um, yeah, I should go on by him. I miss him, you know. That's my last day with the company. I came, I saw you. You were in meetings and stuff, and I sat out there and listened to kneel I they didn't complain about why Neil Diamond and he was like him and I sat there and he was just telling me, you know, don't worry about whenever he brings up campas I know, we're talking about something serious and he's like, you yet to paint your canvas, and don't let this place is not where you're gonna painting him, right, you know. The next day when I was going to work out, I was gonna going to train. Um you all got the call or whatever. But I was like, and um, it wasn't. I had already had a figure out. It is when you see stuff you get to feel those out. So yeah, I knew I wasn't good with hands, but uh, he was just always I don't want to say he was a father figure. I think they gets over used and since I didn't, I'm not really into the father of figure thing. Right, Um um he was. He was into her corner though, Yeah, oh yeah, where it was almost you had the yeah, you know, but um, he was just he was just a great teacher. I don't think people realize. I think they get caught up in the wrestling aspect of that, But we don't know him during that time. That's a different guy, you know, on this like he was basically the principle of our school, whether they wanted to admit it or not. But like, and that's that's something that's gonna be hard to replace a guy who was because those are the guys that are really over there were big stars or horrible coaches. They are hard, yeah, you know, because they're what works for them works for them. I don't see, uh, I don't see unfortunately, to that point, I don't see anyone. I think that I always say, I think that office stays empty, and I don't see who who Well, there's a lot of people who can, you know, step into that role. I don't see anyone ever ever doing what what dream did for people. And well he inspis yeah he would. He you know, he was amazing. Not a lot of people. I spent hours upon hours in his office and in mine, and uh hit him following butche on baseball and we I don't know if I didn't come from that generation. So for me to say he was a close friend of mine is a is a huge thing for me. So I just enjoyed talking to people who appreciated Dream for who he was. And I knew, I kind of knew the relationship you guys had, So I wanted to ask you your thoughts on that because I was, you know, I've always been and you know, it's funny. It's like, uh, it's like the day that Hawkins and I decided to ask you what Jesus probably shoot high and weight was and start practice. Of course we spared the day outside, but the one day after that and he was like he just looked at me, Eagles, Well, you know you'd have been all right, liar, you could have rolled in my car. He was like, I say five eight, uh, you know about one eighty five, and like literally became a whole promo about Jesus. You know, you're a little different, he did. But a lot of good times, man, and he was he was just I think when I think about my time there, I had a lot of good times. I made some good friends. Um, I didn't always get to do what I wanted to do, but I just don't really work. I think that's why I don't really look back, you know. Yeah, now able to do the things I want to do, um and be a little a little more creative control and stuff. I'm finally I'm having a lot more fun. You know. It's just good. You know, well, it looks like it sounds like it. Um that and the fact because you said you touched on it when you were out working out. I mean, let's like here, we're gonna like, let's get real for it. What the hell are you doing in the gym? Dude? Um, you look great, lay Lacy said. Uh. Lacy made a point and it was a it wasn't even a backwards compliment or something. And she she asked me what I thought about? You know, because your videos are great and you're you're hitting the poundage and your your body's changed so much. And she keeps looking at me like are you picking up? But I'm putting down? And I'm going, what's that supposed to mean? Because you're you're killing it? And I'm going, hey, look at g and jus like me, And then she goes liked, first of all, thank you. Yeah, Second of all, what the hell are you doing that? You look great? Active? Like I said, I'll never forget her for yelling at me for swagger and I attacking the Jimmy arm. But because I was just shocked and you told her that, I was like, wait a minute. He we finally had one day in the sun and like, oh, what's gonna like Mack, I'm like, no, you don't want to stay like he was the day before. He was using my strength against me in my ear one. You're so strong? Looks how strong you want? You're so strong? Oh? But I vaguely remember that. Yeah. Um, I've been with mac Rob. I've been a Hard Knocks South since two ten and uh I have not left. Um when the WWE party ways with him, I was like flying with you guys, I'm not going anywhere right right he because he's he's good at what he does. Rob is good, you know, Uh, it's for me, that's church, that's where you like we used to have pizza dominoes on Fridays and stuff like that's throwing weights and stuff like that. It just it became more of a of a hobby. And then just like Rob is always talking about changing stuff, and you know he looks you up to machines and measures body fat and stuff like that. And before I was like I kind of accepted the fact that I would lose weight. I'd go up, I'd go down and robs like you were a world class athlete at one point when you play the ball. He's like, you have that drive, let's fight it. And I have not left. And there's a few, like I said, there's a fraternity. There's um you know, let's see as Jim as his house, but you know it's myself, Kofe uh Gallows, uh Shamus is still there, uh Hutter you know EC three he's up in there. Pj's there. You know, there's actually more um Micah or Camacho Tavita like this band of guys. But like training is just we're just gym rats. I mean, that's just what we do. And I love I love powerlifting and stuff. When I played ball and I've got about it. But I just noticed that I'm a better person to be around because I have that outlet. I have that and it's church in there, like you can't come in there with a camera and you can't come in there. Let's just sign up because it's you know, that's where you are normal person for us. You know, that makes us have you know, animals and knuckleheads. But that's our church, you know, and that's just what it's out for me. And you know, I got in the business that we do. Of the guys that came before, it's like yourself and the other guys like they walked away. You know, none of us are walking out the way we walked in, right, But there's more advantages for us to train, so we can walk maybe just without the limp or the one yea one or the fuse next. Because we train different. We have more knowledge and technology and stuff today. So as long as I'm still wrestle, if I stopped training, I couldn't wrestle anymore, just because the wear and tear and and in father time starts creeping up on you. But you know, so it's a lifestyle change, you know, it's what it's pitting off because you look great, man and man fun. Plus I gotta chase you know, um my son and daughter around, so you know, it's it and he and it's that. That's the that's the underlying thing. Because you can snatch a guy inside twenty feet, but you gotta chase them kids. Man, I'm getting he's learning ninja skills now and I'm not really just a random crown, you know. I'm not ready to say, oh my sons so quick, you know, like I let him know all the time. No, not yet, bro No, not yet, not any time soon. The running the running line in my house now is because we have fight night once a week and it lasts for about forty five minutes to about three and a half hours. And I told him when he's ten, and I'll say this, I'll say this publicly. When he's ten, I'm gonna punch him dead in the mouth because he thinks he can do to me what I've been doing to people for years and I can't let it happen. Yeah. No, Um, I'm relaxing on my bed and just so you know, my bed is on the floor because I am tired of beds. So it's just it's just and anyone asks, it's it's you know, it's you know, I saw some stuff in Japan. It's good for your back because I am hired of bump crack boom umi fixture. Dog Daddy, you broke the bed now, it wasn't me, son, I'm not the one that flips on the bed. But well he doesn't. Unfortunately, I want to say in front of him. He doesn't know yet that gravity is already calling on him that you know, he weren't to be an eye choir and they happen him. But like, but he's blessing. You know, Daddy picked me up. You can fly. Daddy has to bench five hundred if he bound its poor grandpa, he's gonna have one to move off the top roof because he's lucky. And that's it. But he's he's three, so he has moments with when you hold me, and you know when his grandmother he's only like twenty, you know, a thirty pound less than er, you know, like you see her toind of match up his brutal I just don't get him. But he putting him in the car sometimes if you lift wrong, you know, it's like come on, bro, you gotta you know, and he's give me some help. His mom still wants to put him in the baby seat, and I'm like, wait, it's forty pounds. Like he doesn't need to be in the baits he anymore. Like there's no way the police are gonna question the size of this kid. Yeah, like he's And that's another thing too. He gets away with with hell at the at the like the new user parts and stuff, because he's taller than the thing and they're talking to him like he's eight. Like he's three, ladies three, he sounds because it's bad the big now, but he's still three. So but you know, I never and I thought that, you know, I was. I thought I was gonna miss the kid boat, you know, but this is pretty cool, good man. Yeah, you look happy, you sound good, You look good. I'm excited. Getting the Great Gutfield Show on Fox was really a big deal for me. Get a chance to and to go out there and go against minds. Um and I clowned. I owned the whole and let the other ones talked and gave him us and got my stuff in. You know. And where does that tell? I mean tell me because we'll put it out there too. And that's the thing things Great Gutfields on Sunday of the Fox News he does the Red Eye. Um, he has his own show on Sunday Night and Fox News. So um, I did the one episode we talked about the Confederate flag and man butt here. It's just like you know, like a topic thing or whatever. But I just thought at the time they were blaming the Confederate flag for everything that ever happened, you know, and think it funny that's the issue that comes up. Not you know, I'm not gonna give you no airtime, but you know, for the what happened with the tragedies and stuff like that. The answer was it was because there was a flag hanging down the street. I mean, I you know, I'm not like I said, and the Dukes, I haven't had to be cooking off TV because it's racist. You know. It's like, why knowing that I who knows a little something about racism, that's not racist. I never watched Dukes of Hazard and said, day, those poor white guys running from the white cops. That's horrible, you know, like Daisy's mistreating me. Yeah, you know. So it was just it's it's a funny time. So to be on there with these pundits and so called brains of the world who just sit there with their mouth of because you're funnier than they are. Um, they're jokes, they're terrible. Uh. And then he was like, hey, I didn't make you a cold almost if I could but I'm like, I'm not moving to New York and I'm not your your appearances will start coming quicker. Yeah, and I did some stand up that was fun. Um, but I do that under George. You know, I don't do it because wrestling jokes works for like two percent of the world, you know. Rankly went up there. It was like just and the guy was like, I did Mike kneel or whatever, and he's like, you're comedian. You've torn like a twelve over the world. Yeah. Sure, well I didn't crack jokes percent media and one or two here or there, but like, you know, I got them being the pe you know. So it's I'm having fun, man, you know. And then T and A allows me to still do what I want to do. Um, you know. And there's been all the tremblall that you know that they've gone through and be at the Saint But I'm just like, we get to still wrestle on TV. You get to still go out and do our things, so we don't worry about the other stuff. Because that's the biggest thing is you can't worry about still. You can worry about which happens in the ring. It's actually you can't worry about anything else. Yeah, if you kick control it at the And I'm always setting I just again going back to that camp and that the young cats I get to talk to. If at the end of the day, if I can wake up tomorrow again and wrestle, the rest is fixable if you want to wrestle, if it's still such thing as wrestling. But if you can go out there and do your thing and getting the ring and do that and you get to do that another day, the rest is fixable. And that's just, you know, a crazy way to look at it. But I've always just thought, if you're sitting there worried about you know, because locked I mean basically in locker room's gonna be real cool or could be a bunch of old ladies just complaining about everything, you know. And I'm lucky, you know, We're lucky that our locker room is a bunch of guys who just have to laugh at stuff, you know, and uh, you know, not worry about stuff and just go out there and have fun and uh, you know, and it's still a lot of doors. Think of my Japan debut, I'm going up. I'm actually you know what you'll appreciate this. Um, I'm tagging with Knox in Japan, so that's all. Yeah, yeah, so we're Uh I wonder what. I wonder what a seat to Japan would cost me to go see that? Yeah, so it's uh team really elite now. So somewhere because I know he's gonna be listening to this subwhere narrow. Yeah I did at night Kerk, I get at night Kerk. He's send to me a Texas differing. Oh he's hot and somewhere. Eric Perez is a little hard just but I thought urban assault, No bro, Oh hi Eric. I just want to say Eric Perez is one of my closest, dearest friends. To this day. I'm always thankful to Eric Perez for teaching me how to bump and taking me under his wing. Uh, thank you, Eric, You're the best. He's gonna he's gonna call me and want to come on the air and do a rebuttal now and tell tell everybody how you did. I'm gonna like the if I don't what what what bro? No bro? You know, And I know it's funny because you know, wrestling is whatever. But I can honestly say the one guy who has been my friend no matter what. Through this entire journey I've been on since day one, It's been when I was when I got let go that first time. I still get some guy's life moves on. People do whatever uh doing. I'll be working for body. I'll get a text, hey, man, where you're at? What are you doing? You know? Um? That was Eric, you know? And uh even when he and when he came back of his try he's try that he complaint about forever and then he's back and he realized at that point whatever, but you know, I made sure I was there, you know, just to see. Eric is one of and he drives people nuts, but we and we love him to death. But he is literally one like one of the guys that I can honestly say, like I know, no matter what, whether it no matter good, bad, you know or in different Eric Frez will always be a friend. And that to me, you know, that means something. Um for as long because he's literally like one of the longest friends I've ever had. Like he was just tech he ted too, Yes, Eric, I did, and then he starts reciting every line I didn't see as many times as you did. Bro. Give me a chance. Let me get it on Apple TV. Just he sent me a text. I wish I could finally goes, Hey, don't forget me on your YouTube show. And if you're running shows about me, no, good luck. I'm happy for you. He happy to pay. Don't forget me. I know you're a big time guy though, and I'm just little Eric. You know, he's he just can't. He just can't. He's Puerto rican I or you know, he just you know, maybe even when his tag chance was good, gonna take him and Sonny were the most dysfunctional guys I ever been around, throwing them together because they're both just miserable, you know. But I'm very I always think of those times. So those guys, they took me under their wing and I didn't know off it, you know. So I'm always it's always nice to like. There's certain guys. You say, I know that guy's my friend. Yeah, so put him over. You know he's good people. Yeah, I have fun with him. I don't have fun at his expense at all. He's a he's a he's a good guy. You have another difference. Yeah, So listen, man, Uh, this has been great. I'd like to I'd like to do this more. Uh, preferably the next time you go to South Africa. I'd like to do when you're down there. Oh absolutely, Uh actually do it well, yeah, at least it'll be a reason for the stream not to work. Yeah, you'll and you'll have two ten to twelve hours in London to talk to me. Yeah wow. Yeah. So what do we got? We got any movies coming up? What else we got going on? Uh? I just uh I got I'll do great gutt Field. I got some horror movie thing that's coming up. Um. Having a kind of like with with everything that's I've been booked in. I'll start doing more auditions probably uh towards the end of um, when fall starts or whatever, because uh, I've been hitting, like the wrestling has been crazy, Like it's just been non stop, and you know, really once I got the call from Japan and training and stuff, I just wanted to be ready, you know, like uh good and tagging with knocks. I'm just I'm ecstatic yea because I'm thinking in my eye, like they're standing Brody right there, we got this. You know what I'm saying, It's yeah, it's go with Knox. Why on the wall, you know, and um so I think that's it's gonna be that's gonna be cool. You know, it's funny that group of guys, uh from the self, there's there's the core of us. We're all still around. It's funny. Yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, I the team or whatever you want to call it. They're they're rounding, kicking, swag Kofi, you know myself, uh, MVP, mis hello, Mello. I mean if you look at that group, everyone's I mean here Collie held on until he was down to like a you know, holling a kneecap. But I still believe he's there somewhere. I mean, Angels still doing her thing, and I mean just yeah it just uh. I enjoy that because when Bradley Jay, he just did a run for us and uh T and a and he worked the Indian kid and gave him the best match he's had in his career. Um, you know, he didn't fall asleep in the ring either or complain about not getting a champ vote like that. But but I saw Tommy Swayede not too long ago, came for he Swaye was my first Indies match, tremendous. I love to see everybody doing doing minutes, Like we told Tommy is not Tommy anymore. I was like about two eighty two eighty five us, you know, and uh, but he can still. You know, you see certain guys that you say they missed a boat on. But uh, he was a bigger version of Kidman as far as like around the ring and stuff, and even now like he's you know, I still remember when he we got in trouble for this. We were playing two in touch football all the weekends and uh the big ah there you go, Nope, there's no more, no just relax and uh who was playing football? Oh so you guys obviously need more practice time because you got so much free time of the weekend, right, Apparently we haven't done enough. Yeah, so no problem, guys. Uh let me new smoked MVP. He did VP swearing didn't have me. But I was there, and that kid showed up dressed like he played for the Eagles. I was like all of us three, like you know, baggy shorts and tay tops and swede in his official Philadelphia Eagles jersey bandanna gloves. At this he cleats, he's stretching. I'm like playing two hand touch right, like you know, the Swade was one of the good he was way for him. Yeah, when I horrible rib on me because I didn't know you were texting me? Where yet? Where are you at? He gave me the He told that I was part of the noon crew and then you switched it and no one gave me the info. So you text me and somebody else's hey, it's his coach. Were you at? Hey, coach? Where you at? Like I'm about following for this? Oh yeah, okay, sure you are. Anyways, I'm not coming until twelve like I was told to, so whatever. And then he's like checks and I just sat there. He just oh god, you know. He was like, well match tonight, Like I'm sure I haven't. I haven't. Actually, how many matters have you had yet? Well? That one with Kofi but didn't really count because I kept hitting him with my finish because what else to doing him and give him the deal? And I was like, oh, well that's great, but you got seven minutes left now what um you know? And then uh, I mean in half the stuff, like I mean what, I'm sitting there talking and the people I also looking at me because they wanted me to tell the story. Uh, but uh, there was there was the guy and I always forget his name and I feel bad. But when he was tagging with Gordy who was deeper one of those guys or they were Damian Steele, Damian Steele. Because we used to have to do reports America. You gotta know this. I know that all you hear about is the dune. There was homework and I lost, here are you there of brothers African Americans in wrestling? And um it was and as another brother, which I was happy to learn all this information. It was forever. It was really long. We appreciated it because that meant maybe we wouldn't have to bump as much that day or brills or whatever. But then I was picked out and they said, you know, I didn't know that, and I just still learned names and stuff and they so said, all right, uh, really, rolling the ring took somebody to wrestle, and I was just I couldn't remember anybody's name, and I was like Black History Month, I'll wrestle in. It fell out like ill wrestle Black History Month because that's literally how long it was. And um, but after that we were good. Like that was my moment where I was like we get it, you know, like it was playing so bad. You know, we're a lot of fun points. If you worked that out for it, you didn't have fun. In my opinion, they shouldn't have been there anyway. But yeah, like whatever, I'll tap the on that one. That'll probably be the biggest ongoing conversation for the next down, you know, but but for whatever, But it was fun. But I get a blast. Man. I've had a great career. You know, I really have um ups and downs. We all had them, but you know, no major injuries, had some highlights. You have your health, you have a few beautiful children. Yeah some I'm doing my thing and I'm good man, Like I'm one of the but there there's a lot of us out there that are like that. You know, we don't get much pressed, you know, all the negative stuff. You know, everybody would want to talk about it, but it's a different time, right And that's that's that's the whole thing about this this podcast and the stuff I'm doing on the YouTube channel that we're shopping around and and that's why I'm calling the build them Out Experience because I twenty eight years around the world and now I want to sit down and meet the people that I've either passed by or didn't get a chance to sit down with. And for me more so that the guys and the girls I know and been through some things with that life is good and it's not just wrestling Gagan. It's just not the terrible stories. And I want those people. Those are the people, and you're one of them. And when I started this year, were on the top of my list of people I wanted to talk to that have both sides of the story. But at the end of the day, realize what what you're doing is what's important, and not so much what other people think about what you're doing. No, I never I never, not one guy, whether he hated me or didn't want me, there was ever going to keep me from doing what I wanted to do. And if the person who decided I don't like Brotus or Tyrus or whatever kept me from getting to where I wanted to go, that's on me. That's on you, right, I guarantee you. Every time I showed up on TV, there was at least ten guys in the back who were like, I don't like them. I don't get it. I don't get it. I don't know what is he I don't get it, you know, and um, but none of those guys ever gonna stop me. So you hear the negative stuff. You know, you know he was against me. Most guys are, most people are. I'm The first thing that my offensive line coach told me was I'm gonna see whether you belong here or not. I'm gonna do everything I can to put you out of this during these two days because I don't I don't know, I don't know about you. If I would have laid down, he would have been right. But then him, oh you know when I'm getting my blue Chip All American thing was like I was wrong about you. You know you belong You know that was always but now that was my whole favor of all the all the stuff and the stories. Don't need justice because here's another thing. I was there and if I didn't want to do something, I didn't do it. And most of the stupid ideas of ours, that's still these I shouldn't need the trouble is us. That's why no one everyone's like, damn, what the no person comes out and decides, hey, you guys are gonna do this or it's a it's a rabbit we had we were in mcdonnah, Georgia of One movie theater they had them all and the Moose bar that was it. That was Nick Jordan. That was it. So we would be just crazy, buddy, you know when we come up with all other stuff. But like if I didn't like something, I never you know, hey, we want to coach. We don't feel like training today, so we're gonna make a deal. And I'm like, you know what, rather train, So I'm gonna go sit over here and just enjoyed them. It leads us. I'm ahead and listen to you go and I can't believe this is happening, Like why are you guys doing this? Like and be Kofi sit there. It always kind of was segregated too. It's always like me Kofi would just be like and we're good, you know, you just and watch to watch the show. But it was always our thing and if you played football, if you played baseball or basketball, and it was just like that. And I think if a guy, and honestly, this isn't for everybody, And I feel like somehow things have changed where everyone thinks this is for everybody. If anybody, everybody, this is a dream of mine. Okay, well we all dream. I dream that was going to be an astronaut, but physics just didn't agree with me. Is it NASA's fault. No, you know, But I'm just I'm very protective about the way I came up because I feel like I fought and scratched for it, so I appreciated it and all the tough times went through and almost never threw up in the ring though, no matter how much he goes, especially that first week, you know, the two minutes drill and making joke up and finishing the two minutes and looking at you guys going in my head, but kiss my ass, I'm here, you know, but I remember that stuff, but like it made me want it. You need to be a little scary. You need, I think, to truly be the best validity thing. And a lot of the cats that had problem and stuff, if you look at their life as far as enter sports entertainment goes, they never got out of their little circle, right, And that's that's not another man's fault. That's fault. Or the fact that your mirror in your house is really small. It's not a knock. If that's your thing, then cool, But don't don't throw it on other people that Yeah, I'm gonna get him because I didn't make it, because he kept And if that's what helps you sleep at night, all right, cool. Oh, if that's what keeps your relationship going, the chances are the same guys who had those days the same guys who lose their girls to the other. I'm sorry, I apologize. I'm just saying in life, if you're fighting for things, things will be taken from you and we'll get ahead and not and you and I have to add differences. There's a wonderful book out there somewhere that said the only thing good about me, and of course he has it as that was my name. Jes you gave you the name so that I remember. Zach Ryder slid it over to me, stirred, stopped, and I was like, oh is this my book? Put it down? Really just I was like, look, my wife Mama said, but you know I forgot. I was mad at you at the time. You know, I can I read it if you didn't. Oh, let's look at it. No talent at all, you know, I was nothing. No, I said your name. I liked you to and you know that's why things happened, you know, But I didn't go read that book and then to write a book to my own where coach said any talents, so he I didn't go to wrestling because coach, But when you do, I want, I want my name spelled right. Yeah, you know, Oh, my bro's gonna be a pop up, you know. And I gotta wait for everybody to die first so I could tell the truth, so to make it easier, you know, because I don't want any trouble. So I gotta wait a long time for my vout, you know, you know, listen, you know, and I always look, you know, I'm always saying, I just I'll take this moment, Coach, I have thankful because John larould not have said no. And you said maybe so uh and maybe it was enough and um like all bullshit aside. Um, I had no experience none, and uh, you know, you sat there. I'll never forget you were sitting there. And he goes, what do you say? So he said, you know, he didn't know. He said, lose turkey palsy, you know what, and you do this? Whoa I see something, so you know, lose it. And I was like, yeah, looking cool, you know, and uh, it worked out. But you know, yes, somebody said, maybe you know, just George King, what's your new wrestling name, Just George Nice, George Nice on one, you know so, But it was it was a good time. Like I said, we never hear the good stuff, but those of us who were actually there busting our ass, we wouldn't have traded it for anything. Yeah, we had some fun. I wouldn't trade it, you know, we had some fun. Man. I'm glad we had this time to catch up and and shoot the shit a little bit. I always appreciate it, and I am. I'm so happy you're doing good. And uh, we'll do this more as uh if if these people allow me to stay on the air as I as I get going as only build him out Ken, But I appreciate it. I'm so glad you're doing good. To give them babies a big hug for me if if because I know if I go, he'll probably shoot the app Yeah he'll go. Bill Mega is always there. But uh, I appreciate you. Travel safe. I will keep following you. You keep following me, and I will meet you somewhere in the middle of my prevent and nobs, and I will send you a text after our Massachu band and I want pictures. Oh yeah, all right, stuff, thank you buddy, all right man, take care coach, pretty good, thank you. And that's it. That's I mean, that's a chance to catch up with a good friend of mine.
