What's she gonna do? Brother? When Jeff Townsend Media runs wild on you, Molly, this is Build DeMont Vince Russel. When I go way back, Vince took a chance on me when he was going through a whole bunch of other shiz nit. That's for everybody in the urban dictionary. Shis knit with everything else. And he took a chance on a guy, and he made me believe that I could do something, and we pulled off the misfits and action in the general erection and all these things we talked about wrestling Fast forward X amount of years. Now, I welcome you to the Build DeMont experience. Bro, you got the oone show going on now. Bill, you just launched this show on Tuesday. Now you're out there on your own. Bro. You listen. You will like that. You will like the burden and nest. Bro. You know, and I was giving it a worm and you're eating now or now you're out Now you're flying like an eagle. Bro. I took the word might take the other guy's word. I jumped off the branch. Look at you. Hey, listen, Bro, I mean this and even seeing it now, Bro, I'm telling you and I said this to you up front. I always thought you would tailor made for this. You shouldn't say that, because, Bro, listen, the average wrestler cannot do this because Bill, you and I know they they want to make money without doing anything. If they don't make money immediately, they're out of it. You can't depend on them. And that's why I told you, Bro, it's a slow and study build, and I know somebody like you that understands that business dependable, you can make it go and took it and truly did take it to heart because I knew if I was gonna do this and starting out with you on the brand one, I didn't want I didn't want to look goofy. Two, I didn't want you to look goofy, which was a bigger thing for me because I don't mind if I screw the pooch, but I do mind if I if I hurt something that someone else's building. And you've been nothing but a man I don't even know positive and you're just that guy. And I always say that I make sure everybody here's that coming out of my mouth because, as you know, you and I get beat up quite a bit on occasion, but without your I guess mentors the word, but it's not the word. You're a friend of mine, and you you, you're always honest with me, and you said, hey, go out and try this. I'll god dog if I'm gonna try it. And now I got metal letters on the back of me to say B D E and can we go? Can we go through? A couple of things that I'm seeing in at office? Who's that a picture of on the top shelf? Whose face is that? So? Coming up? Coming up this week with this show airs the same week, I did an exclusive interview with Sean Penn And that's Sean Penn's face behind me. Okay, I got So that was I got. I got you blusive interview with Sean Penn. He visited the BDE and we were out in Iowa together and uh, it was rotten. It was the worst. This is why I was not creative. And you guys wrote and I just did what you guys wrote because it But yeah, you remember when I started, there was nothing in the background. Yeah, and also, bro, I did not know. Now I know about the Love of the New York Giants. Love the Giant which was brutal this season, absolutely brutal, but Cobbs. Well, that's my boy plays for the Cubs. And now it's it's baseball season, so we're in Florida. But his name, the name of his team since he started, you know, seems like one hundred years ago, it's been the Cubs. So that's that's for my boys. The Cubs hat stays here. Otherwise it's it should be a Yankee hat. But he so, you're a big Yankee fan, then I'm a Yankee fan heart. But for my boy, the Cubs hat always makes the show. Now, what do you mean your boy plays for the Cubs? He plays. So he started on t ball last year. He went all the way to the States. We literally played twelve months straight between the districts and making the All Star team and then going to the state championships. And the name of his team is the Cubs. Got you. So every every every rookie team has the Twins, the Cubs, the Yankees, the Astros. And he's been on the Cubs since he's joined the league. So that's his Uh, you know, every year you gotta have a new hat and a new jersey. Yea. So how old is he now? Bro? He said he just turned seven in November. He's four foot four eighty two pounds. No way, the kid. I have to do the show otherwise I can't feed him. I don't know what to do with him. Vince. It's like, I don't know. He's a big boy. Now does he have a position to choice? Yet? He's a catcher? Yeah, I was a catcher, bro, growing up. It sounds like he's built like one. He's built like he doesn't even wear pads or a helmet. He just stands behind the plate. But yeah, he's a catcher and he loves it. But this year, as he's sprouting up and he's he's fast for his size at seven, so he's gonna be playing a little first base this year. And it wore me out, you know, because I coach his team. I'm one of the one of the coaches on his team. And oh my goodness, it's so hard to coach. Well, you know, it's so hard to coach your kids. And I did that a bunch of years. Now, Bro, let me ask you this though, you to kind of coach? I mean with seven year old kids, do you still like go toe to toe with umpires? Oh? No, as soon as the umpires everybody knows that if I turned my back and walk in the other direction, I'm thinking about going toe to toe. But there I'm always reminded by the dugout mom, who happens to be my wife, is that these kids are watching you do the right thing. So the new and improved Bill DeMott walks the other way. Now does he play football too? Bro? Is he a baseball kid? You know? He he can't play football, and he loves football, but because of his size, he'd have to play up, so he has to play with nine year olds. Yeah, and you you know everything that goes on, they got two years of maturity on him. You know, he's a big boy, but you got a nine year old stick in here once in a while. I'm have that fear after all the years of being hurt and banged up and you know, football and concussions and all those things. If I can hold him off a little bit longer, I'd feel better. Yeah. No, Bro, I'll tell you, Bro, my my parents really my mother, not my father. But my mother wouldn't let me play football grown. I had to play side. I played soccer in high school because she wouldn't let me play. And Bro, we didn't know back then about the things that we know now, you know. I mean, if she would have knew now what we knew, then forget about it. But yeah, Broan mother would never let me play football, play soccer. Yeah, I didn't play until my junior year. I never touched the football field to my junior high school and my coach finally went to my house and convinced my mom that was it. Bro, I gotta ask you a question about this you've brought up. You've brought up concussions. All right, Bro, listen to me. Do you know who Sean Oliver is? Why I knew that name? Kayfabe Commentaries. Okay, I gotta hook you up with him. Bro, you'd be a great interview for him, and they're a great company. I gotta make the marriage. Okay, I'm okay, But Bro, you're gonna appreciate this. He just did a shoot interview with Vampiero, and you worked with Vampiero, and Bro, you know, with every freaking Vampiro story, you don't know if this guy's full of crap. I don't know if he's telling the truth. So literally, myself and Disco Inferno we sat down, we watched a three hour interview. We took on notes and then we analyze like fact or fiction, like what really happened and what was just happening in Vai Piero's head? Right, Bro, he is one of the things. He's one of the comments that he made. I want to get this from you because day I know you're a guy that's experienced this, right Bro, Vampio claims to have had twenty six concussions. It's not impossible because I'm somewhere at twenty one. Are use serious problem? Yeah? Twenty one that I think can be recalled end or on paper, you know, because the slightest thing is considered, you know, concussion. But I'm somewhere, and if I'm not mistaken, I think Stevie Richards is up around twenty. See, Bro, I would think if you had twenty concussions or twenty one concussions, he claims he had twenty six concussions, I would think you couldn't even count up to twenty six. Yeah, it's it's it's quite possible, which explains to my wife on a monthly basis, might decline in our conversations. Yeah, because it's but it's possible. I just did a I just talked to David Brady. He's a you know, a book guy and a film guy, and we talked about Will Smith and a doctor he knows and what he dealt with in concussions, and he thought he had one concussion. He came out of the hospital they said he had eight concussions with one shot to the head. I used serious. Yeah, So it's like it's a constant topic for me because and you know, my biggest fear I worked with that Chris new Winsky when I was working over at the Performance Center. He came down once a year and did his whole thing, and I'd leave there in tears. I'd go back in my office and go, oh, what the hell is going to happen to me when I'm sixty five years old? But I think it's possible. I don't know, but Vampiro has a way of spin of the yard, so I'm not saying it's not possible. Hey, When I met that guy, his name was Ian ian Ian. The second time I worked with him, his name was Billy. The third time I worked in my forget what it was, bro maybe had twenty six concussions, which unbelievable. I met him the one triple shot we had in Mexico. He was I and next time he introduced himself as Billy and I'm going I just I just that guy. A week ago. You want to hear some amazing While I was having this conversation with Glenn, right, Glenn basically said to me that literally maybe he was doing an indie show a couple of weeks ago, he had his first concussion. Kil Bertie kill Bertie said, I got my first concussion two weeks ago. Never got one throughout his entire career. I don't know how he made it out half the matches he had. You're not getting hurt, bro. You know what we were talking about, Bill, and you're the perfect person at to all about this. Bro. Here's the thing about Glenn. Glenn is such a freaking knucklehead. But he stumbles on things and he says something like so, you know, so easy and basic. But it's like, oh yeah, like that, that's how Glenn. It's like so basic, and it's like because you're thinking about it and getting involved. Bri had a great conversation with Glenn. I want to I want to ask you about what you think because Glenn had a great freaking point right, Bro, Obviously listen, I don't want to get bro. My WWE bridges are torched, and Bro, I threw hand grades on the bridges. I threw gasoline on the bridges. I took an axe to the bridge. So you're not You're not gonna be a WrestleMania I'm not gonna be a wrestle man. And I'm not going to be a participant in the royal rumping. I let let me make that personally clear. And I don't want to get you in that hot water. But just seeing in WWE thing, Bro, it's a it's a psychology thing, Okay, Okay, Bro, here's what blows me away from the time you and I grew up in the business, okay, and worked together in the business you know too. Now, somehow along the way, you know, from from my very early days of freaking Bruno and and and and and Pedro Morales and all those guys up until today, some time within the last five ten years, the emphasis has changed from entertainment to the in ring work to the actual match. More emphasis is put on the wrestling now. I find that rather bizarre, because you know, MMA continues to increase in popularity. They literally took the pay per view business away from wrestling. MMA for what we know and what I believe. I mean, wrestlers believed differently. But MMA is a is a real fight. So, like my point is, you're professional wrestling, it's wrestling, but then you have your entertainment, the characters, the storyline, the pageantry. With MMA being a real fight, why are you gonna put the emphasis on the in ring action when it's a it's a fake fight, it's a choreographed fight. Why are you gonna put all the emphasis there when if they want to see a real fight they can go to MMA. To me, the emphasis should be on the stories, the character, everything that built wrestling. So then, Bro, here's what Glenn said, which was a beautiful thing. Now now in reality, Bro Bill, more people are getting hurt in the ring now than I've ever seen in my life. In my life, Bro, more people now. The WWE is in so much trouble trying to plug holes because so many guys are on the sidelines. So you know, Glenn turns around and he goes, well, Vince, not only is the emphasis being put onto the fake fight, but guys are getting hurt that is supposed to be working. Working means you're working so you don't get hurt. He says, there's more and more injuries with the emphasis on the fake fight, and we're supposed to be working. I'm I have no one. He's like an idiot savant sometimes and I happen to like I happen to like Glenn A. Lott. I never had any issues with that. I've sat in it like and you have. I've sat in meetings and conversations and phone calls are going bill. Why are they getting hurt Because there's someone, in my opinion, there's someone who told them while you're learning to be a storyteller, that word believability comes. But this generation's believability the message is getting twisted. So they come back and for years, and I'll use the performance center for years, we're trying to get them out of that indie riffic crash test dummy, do a million things, doesn't mean anything. Learn to tell a story, so you beat tell a story into their head. Then when they finally get rid of that, you tell them it's not believable. So now they start lighting each other up again. And now they're trying to it's you know, it's now it's controlled chaos. But these guys are going, well, screw it. If I'm telling be told this and do that, I'm gonna do what I do best. And the other side of it, in my opinion, is now at a company telling you we don't want you to be hurt, speak up, listen. If I can get two weeks off because I'm tired, my shoulder hurts, and get paid, that's the difference between when we came in and these guys came in. I'm not saying guys do that intentionally, but you know sometimes in football they take a knee in their hurt to get a break. But I think that the message was lost for me in my opinion, being on the ground level of it is you try to get them to be storytellers, but it's not believable. You gotta you know, you can't be afraid to get hit, right, there's a mixed message there, and there are a lot of injuries. And now I'm pretty sure whatever the next study is. If the next study is broken jaws, how many broken jaws happen in this industry a year? We're gonna have a cataclysmic number broken jaws. Yeah, yeah, I don't know. If that makes sense. Yeah, it does. Bro, It's just it's it's mind boggling to me because like in my mind, I'm always I'm trying to break down where where is the root of the problem, And you know, like you know, one of my things is listen, no offense to the guys of the performance center, and like I'm not even sure who's there anymore and who's doing what, but like, no offense to them. But I would think, you know, the guys that are doing the training, you know, are old school guys that will broad up the right way, that traveled in cause that worked territories. Those are the guys doing it. By the time they make it to the WWW, I'm assuming somebody along the lawn and has say, okay, they're ready to go, right. Well, but then they're ready to go and they're on TV and they're doing all these crazy things. There's no psychology, there's no and I'm sitting there and I'm saying, how did they get through school? How did they graduate through school? If they're on the other end and they're doing this stuff, right, the kid that you get, the kid that comes out of whether it's the performance center or wherever they're sent or wherever they come from, Japan and wherever else they come from. Nowadays Mexico, the kid that they get is not the kid that they deliver, because they would love what you do. Do this so you can be trained, excuse me, the right way, or you can do all these things. And I think that's the frustration for a lot of coaches who won't necessarily say that out loud as go, we just spent two years with this kid and on NXT or whatever it is, and we'll use WW for now, you know, two years on this cat or this girl and do this and then turn around and on TV they're doing that. They're gonna here's the easy how they adapt for me is they're gonna do whatever they're told last. Yeah. That's to me, that's the beauty of their survival is they really don't listen to half the ship that said to them, yeah, except for the last person or the more important person. Yeah, because if I say this to them, but Pat Patterson says that to them, they're they're gonna do what Pat says. Yeah. Yeah, It's amazing to me. Bill is like, bro, I'm telling you that the psychology I'm talking about the basic fundamentals of wrestling psychology, like are not there on a basic level. And I'm watching this from before and I'm like, wait a minute, this is the same Vince McMahon that creator WrestleMania one and created hundreds of superstars. This is the same guy. Bro. They did something the other day Bill that like, like it was so elementary. How old is your son seven? He would have known this. Okay, I gotta tell you Bill, Brett Hard. You know, like I used to be a producer, and you know I used to produce Brett Hard a lot. When Bret Hart knew he was going over in a match, he would say it in the prolo he would say when he knew he was winning. He would say it when he knew he wasn't going over. He would never predict victory. So one day I said, Brett, I said, you know when you say you're gonna win, when you know you're gonna win, And and Brett taught me about Vince. The people have to believe in the baby face. And look, you don't even have to use the word baby face. The good guy or the people there behind when you when a baby face does something, they have to do it. He goes. That's why when I know I'm not going over, I'm not gonna say I'm gonna beat the guy because they gotta believe in the baby face. Bill. That's about is basic as if you can get right. Bro. The other day on Raw, like the first match, Ambrose had a match with Shamus. Okay, all wins comes out, and Bro, I'm gonna say, I don't want to get you in anyhow trouble with Owens, a WWE or anything like this. But I've been tough on Owens and then and people try, people try to compare to me. Well, you work with Bill Demot and he got a big push. What's the difference. First of all, don't get pick Kevin Owens to build them. To me, this is me speaking out. I don't want to get Bill and trouble with his new don't get I worked with Bill. Don't get bid Bill Demot, Keven Owens. Please please all right, I saw all that. I never understood what all the hubbub was about that. Bro, don't get me, don't give me in trouble again. Okay, I'm gonna bring it up again. Okay, listen to how basic this is. Bill. So he's having a match with Shame as he's in the angle with Owens. Owens comes out and beats that Evan loving crap out of Ambrose. Okay, we go to commercial breaks, we come back. Ambrose is in the back. He's up and he's cutting the promo of I'm eating I'm eating Freakin' Kevin Owens for lunch tonight. Kevin Owens has a bullet on his chest the whole night, y'all, I'm getting Kevin Owens tonight. Bro, this is the first second segment of the show. The last segment of the show. Owens is out there wrestling Roman Rains for about twelve minutes. Now, also, bro, keep in mind side story Rains and Ambrose is supposed to be buddies. Okay, yea, bro, we never saw Ambrose again for the entire show. And then they sit there and they wonder, why aren't they getting anybody over. You just had a baby face say I'm gonna get that guy. He's mine. I'm gonna get revenge. He's out there for twelve minutes and the baby face is no where to be found. Do you think by then they called the audible and said we should have never done the promo Bro. That is so that is so basic and elementary. It's like, if you've forgotten that, I wouldn't even know where to begin. Let's get back to Kevin Owens. All right, what happened you trosk anything ridiculous? This is what I said and it was the god honest truth. Okay, Bro, you got this craze with NXT. Bro, Listen, this is how I look at wrestling nowadays. Okay, you got two bookends. Okay. The one bookend, Bro, are the kids that are Dragon, the parents to the show, the ten year olds, the twelve year olds, the fourteen year olds, they gotta have that. That's one book ind The other bookend is the internet wrestling community that wants Star five matches. You know, aj Styles is the next Hulk Hogan. You know, that's that group. The entire middle, the casual fan base, the meat and potatoes that were there during the years of NITRO, and they had gone. They don't exist. They're gone. That entire middle that supported the wrestling business gone. So you got these two bookends. Okay, so bro, what I Bro? You know, Bill, back in the day, when when you debuted a wrestler, you set the table for him before he came out. Bro, I produced the val Venus vignettes, and when val Venus walked through that curtain after six weeks, I was there for the freaking pop because he was somebody before they ever saw him. Well, for some reason, the WW we forgot how to do that. We don't do vignettes. We don't build anybody. We just put them out there and then miraculously just gonna get over. Okay, and Bro, They've done that with every freaking NXT guy that has gone there, and when they don't get over, they get you never see him again, thank you. So basically my comment was the casual audience that you need to bring back to wrestling. They don't watch NXT. They don't know who Kevin Owens is. When Kevin Owens comes comes the first time Kevin Owens comes down the ramp, the casual television viewer at home is saying, who's this fat guy? That was my comment, and not only that I put the blame. Now, Listen, I've said, I know, Vince McMahon, I don't think it would hurt Kevin Owens's career to get in a little better shape. To be honest with you, I know Vince. I know how Vince works, but my point was I was really putting the heat on management. Right, you got a package that Vince McMahon taught me. Bill. If you want first, if you want to be a start, first thing you gotta do is look like a star. This guy comes out, he looks like he landscapes. So my whole point was I put a lot of the heat on management. They have to make him look like somebody, a pr like somebody look like a star. And the fact that I said a casual wrestling fan would say who's that would be their first thought, who's this fat guy? Oh, forget it, bro. They thought that that means you beat up on Kevin Owens. Exactly exactly. I'm a I'm a huge meat Percy. I'm a huge Kevin Owens fan. And I got the same thing. Are you trying to you know? Back in NXT, somebody did an interview said I was trying to hold him. We had a big discussion on his debut match in NXT. I was trying to hold him back from I said, let them get to know you. But you know, people, I'm not you know me? You and I talk about that. I honestly have learned not to really stew on what people say. But I saw you getting beat up over the Kevin Owens thing, and I never saw what what the whole hubbub was about. And to know the guy, to me, I like him. I think he can go. Uh he just looks there and it's I guess that's the surprise, right as he doesn't look like Val did or Billy Gunn or Bob Holly or or Hunter for that uh, you know, whatever it may be. He Scottie too, Hotti. There, everybody was built differently. I was up, you know, I had the big burly thing too, And but I think that was the cross of trying to get the NXT thing, and I feel like it at his expense at the beginning. But I think Owen just is getting over and I think he's got a good fan base. But to your point, it was the It was the internet fans that knew who he was, right, right, That was my point. Yeah, And the and the NXT people who did watch the show are a small part of that audience on Monday night, So yeah, and and and in a politically correct world, and you're being judged by the social media, and half of them don't even know what the hell you were talking about. I think you turn you say Kevin Owen's fat guy. Yeah yeah, And I don't. And Bro, I've said it a million times, the dub, the way they will portraying him, the way they were creating him, they were making the situation worse. And Bro, I'll give you examples. First of all, they said, you know, he was called so many things. Bro jbl puts over to nausea. Um, he's a prize fighter. I don't. I don't even get that, Like, I don't understand that. I don't. There's no you know, Bro, we had marvelous Mark Merrow. You know that was a prize fighter. He come out, he's he was a prize fight. They called him a prize fight. There's no connection to a prize fighter. Then, Bro, they the next thing they called him was a you know, a bully. Well, Bro, I saw a Dana Ambrose bit Soder in his face and throw popcorn in his face and he did nothing, So like, that's that's not a bully. So then one of his fans told me he's a badass, and I was like, Bro, I see him run away from people the other every single week Bro, go watch Billy Go watch a Billy Jack. How many people did Billy Jack run away from? Bro, that's a badass. Clint Eastwood's a badass. We know that. Yeah, exactly, there you go. That's so bro. His own fans don't know. Okay, is this guy a prize fighter? Is he a bully or is the av His own fans don't know. And on top of that, Bro, he's working that crazy style. What they finally did in the last month or so after I went on this tirade and I you know, and I said exactly what I told you was, they finally let him come out and start beating the crap out of people. They've eliminated the high flight and the stuff that made no sense for a guy his size, and they they've basically now created a he's mad because he lost his title and it affected is the way he You know, now they've finally done something. But in beat prior to that total three months of confusion, the heat is on the WWWE for for not making it clear. I mean, my god, Bro, Junkyard Dog walked out. You knew who Junkyard Dog was. He's not irrelevant, probably talking about he's not irrelevant, me talking about junking herd dog dude. The only other person who knows who he is. It's it's a constant. I think that's gonna be a constant. You me. I mean anybody I see Ted when Taz is doing it in JR. And and everybody who has a platform, and that Sam whatever his name, Roberts or whatever. Everybody mentions something about wrestling, you're gonna get You're gonna get chewed apart because your opinion is wrong and because you, you Vince Russo are an easier target than I don't know, because they don't know who's writing this stuff. Yeah, well, Bill, you know what it is to you know what the conclusion I've come to why I've really kind of laid off it a little bit because I had to come to the conclusion. A lot of these fans they didn't see what we saw. Yeah, because, Bro, let me tell you something. If people today think wrestling is good and they're wrestling marks and wrestling wrestling wrestling, they did not see what we saw. So like now, every time before I get into it, like I realized, they never saw the Valiant Brothers, Bro, they never saw George the animal Steel They never saw a piper. They didn't see freaking greatness to really like, Bro. The thing that drives me nuts, like Bro, when somebody comes out in NXT, right, BRO, how many people does NXT sit? Eight hundred eight hundred? All right? Bro? I always get that. They get to you. They got a huge pop. They don't know what a huge pop is, BRO. They don't don't wrestling term. I understand, but it's not a great They don't know what a freaking great pop. Bro. Nobody knows what over means anymore. They don't know what it means to be over. No, no, and and and they learn the things they learned. I had this conversation with a coach that will remain nameless. They watched the network now and they can watch the Valiant Brothers and the Pipers, and they can go watch watch the Briscos and Aren't in Tully in the day and all these other things, and they try to emulate the moves, but they're not watching how it got there. Anybody in the world could watch Dusty Rhodes and do what he did and not even come close to doing the way he did it. Yea, even to the Bobby and you know, up and down the line the Armstrongs and all that stuff. Brad Armstrong and all that stuff. But you can watch it, and I think that's where we're at. They watch it. They learn the terms. That's my biggest pet peeve. It always got me in trouble when I said it out loud, is everybody learns the terms. And this is my passion and and it's a work brother, and all this other stuff, and it just eats at me. And I just look at it and go different, different, different place. You know. Glen Glenn had another simple point that I really didn't realize. But it's something as simple as this. Like Glenn explain to me, he goes, when he came up with the disco infernal character, what he was trying to think of is what would people be able to imitate? Yeah, but you know, and he you know, he had the disco thing, you know, and Bro, when I thought about that, you know, the people that wore over you know, what what's this mean? Bro? You know what what what's what? What what's this mean? What's what's Oh? Yeah? I mean oh yeah, Bro? When you think about that today, these young guys coming out, what are they doing that little kids can imitate. You know you got Daniel Bryant to the yes, yes, yes, yes, I get that. But bro, it's so few and far between used to be, you know what I mean. Yeah, So now that you said, Daniel Bryan, let me change, let me change, because you get your finger on the pulse of wrestling still and I know you watch it because you are a fan. As much as people hate to think that, what do you think about him trying to come back? I mean, we're trying to We're all over the place. But and the fact that Disco actually made two good points means I have to get away from the whole damn conversation because I hate to think of him being right all the time. I told a story about him when I was in Iowa, why do we have to buy super unleaded gasoline? And I think my daughter was asked me, why is there stupid when everybody just uses regular unleaded Because back in the day there was just regular gas and then they had unlded and this was supposed to be the end all for your car. And then I told the story how Disco Inferno would always put super unlidded in his rental car. Oh extra two dollars or whatever it was. I gotta hit it with balent deeper unletted, and he'd be the same guy that every time we're in the airport, he'd paid the ten bucks to get his cowboy boot shine. Yeah, and the same guy that's burying vampirero and the same guy that's talking about twenty sixteen cars. But that's my disco thing. Oh my god. So what's your thoughts that we you know, what do you what do you think about Daniel Brian trying to come back? Well, bro, I I say this a lot, you know, Bill, and we had two different jobs, and Bro, I from by far and and but I found myself in so many instances. He got to protect the talent from themselves. You know that, bro T You and I had to conversation. You tried to protect me from Yeah, you have to protect them by yourself, I bro listen, it's clear how much Daniel Bryant loves wrestling and he wants to get back in there. It's crystal clear. I think it's also crystal clear where he physically is ny. With that being said, Daniel Bryant is blessed because there's so many things he could do in the wrestling business and be over. People love Daniel Bryant, just just seeing him, just giving him some kind of a role, being an announcer, being out there doing something. He's got such a personality that people love. He will forever stay over, you know, if he listens to them. But he's a guy who's saying and because he just got cleared by the UCLA medical staff, yeah and he but he's excuse me, he's out there saying that he's not done wrestling, whether he has to wrestle and ring of honor. Who's going to smarten him up? Forget total divas? His wife has got to be looking at him, going, come on, dude, bro, you know what it is. Bill, I'm not a wrestler, So like I could never understand that love. I could never understand it. Now, don't get me wrong, bro, I think I would understand it a little bit more if this guy didn't have a personality like let's say he was a Chris Benwat type where he was a five star wrestler and that's what he did. I could understand that a little bit more. But with the personality this had guy has in the look and the attraction, with the audience. He's got options. Yeah, well why so, I'm asking the question, but I kind of know the answer, like he will not. I wonder why he doesn't accept the fact that he's worked hard to get in that position and to me, let the company take care of you, because it's clear they want him around. Yeah yeah, yeah, but he's so I just thought it was I just think it's being a wrestler. I have the same mindset. But I was nowhere near Yeah, not even close to the to the level of what Daniel Bryant is and means to the wrestling fans and bro if it were somebody else, Like listen, listen, Bill. I I tell people this all the time. You you cannot nobody can really understand the ego of a wrestler unless you've worked with them. I've seen some egoist, bro that were so out of freaking control where they got to go out there, they got to hear the crowd, you know. But he's not that guy. I don't. I don't. Ego has nothing to do with it. It is a pure love of the lane. Yeah, he just that's what he lives for. Yeah, but still, Bro, you want to be in a wheelchair and you know. I mean, but to me, he's a talented guy. I hope he, I hope he whatever the word is, comes to terms with it. But yeah, you know I always think about stuff like that. Yeah, I I I yeah, who knows. But but this is how we get in trouble. Why do you have a conversation and go somebody'll hear that and go, oh, they're trashing Daniel Bryant. No, we're saying that so talented and it's done so much to get over. But I just, uh, anyway, what do you think about what do you think about your your the Bullet Club? Bro? It's it's there's something in wrestling with you because you and I just talk about wrestling, honestly, and we don't go, well, who do we have to like? Yeah, oh no, I love talking wrestling with you. It's the same thing I tell everybody, bro. Oh you know the Bullet Club, the Bullet Club, AJ Styles, AJ Styles, the Bullet Club and obviously here and I'm saying, guys, they have a roster full of guys that they can't get over. Bro. If you can't get Bray, why it over you? You problem Bray? Why it should have been the second coming of the under acre, out of the gate, out of the gate, the fact that you can't get the very riot over, you're gonna get this bullet club over. So like that's people gotta calm down. It's like they're not bro. People have to understand and you understand this bill. You're not going to get over on your in ring work alone. There's so much more that goes with it. And if the wwe can't get their roster over now, they're not gonna get an aj Styles over or call and Said or whoever else is coming over. Concentrate on that. They've already put the time in the commitment of who's there now. But you know what it is, it's this freaking bro, It's it's the fifty fifty booking. Nobody's getting over. When people are over. You can do fifty fifty booking because people already ready over. If you're trying to get them over and they're winning, losing, winning, losing, winning, losing, nobody gets over. Yeah. See, I look at it from the other side of you. Take all these kids that sit in the system, are doing what you know, doing what they're told, and all these other things, and they're hiring outside the outside the system. So that's why when you see Sammy Callahan made the move a couple months back, formerly known as Solomon Crow. There was a kid who was who was over on the Independence, made a name for himself, came to WWE. They told him to tone it down, tone it down, that stuff won't work. YadA, YadA, YadA. Incomes Apollo Cruise, incomes Fimbalor incomes Adrian Neville incomes you know, all Sammy's ay and all these other guys. And now, to me, that's what I'm looking at, because that's where my life's been the past X amount of years. Is what do you tell these guys when the bullet club comes in Now? There's less spots for you up there now when you're trying to get to the next and pro and not only that, Bro, that all the guys you're just talking about. People don't understand this, and nobody talks about this. I talk about it. You know why I talk about a bill because it's a business. Okay, you're a New York Giants fan. I'm a huge San Francisco Giant fan. Bro. The San Francisco Giants don't have guys in their farm system, and of bringing them up when they're thirty two, thirty four. It defeats the whole freaking purpose. The idea is these guys already when they're twenty four, so you can make money off of them for the next sixteen years. That's freaking business. It blows me freaking away. The finnbal is the designs the guys you mentioned, these guys are in their thirties. Bro. These guys, a lot of them in their mid thirties. They're not twenty two years old that have a whole career animal, bro, Bro, I bet you don't even own the answer to this bill, Bill, how old do you think aj Styles is? He's gotta be thirty seven? Bro. Aj Stiles is gonna be thirty nine. So like that's why when these people talking about him. Bro. Even if he comes into the WWWE and he's he's he's phenomenal, he's already going to be thirty nine years old. Can you imagine if Hogan started at thirty nine, but his bump card has been full for ten years. He's not a kid they found in a gym who's thirty nine and they can do something them. His body has been beat up from the feet up so it's a investments. I never thought I would see the day, Bill, I swear to you, because I was there at a much different time. I never thought i'd see the day where the Internet wrestling community is actually dictating to that. I never thought, because, Bro, what they've been doing, they've been doing for years. They've been doing this since since I was hired by the WWWE in ninety three. They've been doing it for years. The only difference is we've laughed at them back then because we knew. Bro, how many times Bill, were you told you don't play, You don't play for the house. You play for the millions of people at home. We're not playing for the house. That's what you're taught business, the mass audience. Some were him within the last couple of years. We're booking around with the Internet wrestling and look as look at what's happened in the business. Yeah. Yeah, we gotta sell, gotta sell subscriptions, and you gotta do And that's that's always my thing, and that's where I that's where I got my uh, some of my trouble going, you know, because if you ask me, Bill, what do you think, I don't get it? And they go, what do you mean you don't get it right in front of I don't know, I don't get it. I got this kid who's working his ass off. Who can do that? Who's doing? But I digress. Anyway, let's play about something funny. One more funny wrestling thing. Disco. No, we're gonna talk about him again. I tell you time, usc unletted gasol unletted, and he Joel and everybody else was getting out whatever. The Hugo car was the cheapest car and he's in a freaking coop the ville. Yeah, now that's disco man. He spent it. He I don't know what he was making. I know it was more than me. But that kid, he was living the life. Bless his heart today, Bro, do you bring U? You bring a lot of guests onto you a show? Right? Bill? Bill? How do you usually go about I'm just curious. Let's talk shop now, mean, okay, how do you usually go about getting your guests? So? My the funny part was when when we started this and you had said to me, be consistent, and I thought that everybody you know, because if you hear for the most part, if you hear Bill DeMont, it's gonna be wrestling, or it's gonna be something associated with wrestling. So what we started to do is we went on some and I'll find you the site and I'll send it to you. We got on a site of people who are looking to do interviews, whether they had a new book out, a new movie coming out, a new TV series, whether it was here Across the Pond or something like that. So every two weeks I get a list of like sixteen topics. If the topic looks good, I contact, you know, the guy or the girl. I say, here, you know, here's a rundown of the show. Here's what we do. And I've talked to uh, paranormal guys. I've talked to concussion guys. I add the Queen of Optimism, so I, you know, I get to talk to the wrestling guys and I get to do the face value and the other things that I've learned from you in Turning Point is now where I'm going to talk wrestling. But I find them on and I'll send you the site I find them. So I had a Nobel Peace Prize Colonel Sholey, where he's contacted me twice to do the show. Once we did it about terrorism and once we did it about and we had a Veterans Day special. So we found these things and I thought, well, I'm not an interviewer, but to me, it's just like talking to you. So when you're talking about you now of course, but you know, sit there and you go he say Novil Peace Prize or what do I do? So and this is where everybody's always kind of blowing smoke. I'm not blowing smoke. I look back to what you said to me and just be you and talk to these people and ask a question. And it's turned into a thing where every two weeks people are going, hey, I'd love to do your show if you have time for me. And I go, well, well, hell yeah, Bro, you were you kay favoring me on this site. Listen Steve the Driver, you know, Steve the Driver he called to me, goes, hey, these four. Hey, I'm working on Charlotte Ray from Facts of Life. Yes, get out of here. Bro. Bro, I did that too. Bro. You know what I did, Bro, I got a role. Listen, ever since I was a kid. And Bro, my wife's from the Midwest, the most tamous a wife wife, you know what I mean. But Bro, I've had such a fascination my whole life with Bro. I love female rock and rollers, you know, the Jone Jets, the Pat bennettaus Lee, a Ford, Bro, the Bengals, the Go Goals. I mean hard my whole life, Like, I love tough girls that could just beat the crap out of me. Right, So, Bro, I'm like I said, as a goal, I'm gonna throw the hook out to every every legendary rock and roll chick. I'm gonna get one of them show because now, Bro, listen, I'm thinking, let's be logical, Like, you know, if you look at the Bengals, Bro, remember how hot to remember how how s Thata Hof was in today. But Bro, let's be realistic. She's our age now, yeah, she doesn't get the same publicity. I mean, so you know, you never know, you know, So Bro, I start following like every hot chick I know, Bro, from freaking Blondie, Yeah, Bro, Debrah Harry is gonna follow me next week, you know, from Blondie to to Anne and Nancy whilstle I started following them all. I throw the bait out there. Yeah, Bro, I get a follow from Kathy Valentine the basis of the Go Goes. She actually follows me. Bro, is she gonna be on the show? Bro, this is gonna kill you. I'm exposing myself to build them out in the world. I'll only do this on your show. I'll only do this on your show. So Bro, I'm still thinking, Okay, she's following me. So you know, Bro, that opens up the direct message envelope. Bro, you know, the minute I direct messenger, I'm a creep and I'm gonna lose the follow yep, right, so I have the direct messager. Now you know, Kathy, huge fan of yours, blah blah blah, I do this show. It would be an absolute honor. Five minutes, come on my show. Five minutes, Bro, She DMS me back. Yeah, sure, I'll be happy to come on your show. Yes, but now hold on, Bro. But now I'm like, but now I'm like, wait a minute, Like, what am I gonna say? Kathy Valentine? I never expected her in a million year say yeah, I'll be happy to come on your show. So now that she says she's come on, Joe, come on the show, I'm scared to death to bring her on the show. Well yeah, but they see. But this is what people don't get. You're gonna do your homework. But Bro, it's still it's Kathy Vallet. Bro. She's a go go Bro. So you get about the Hallmark, Bro, get the show on pen mask so she can't see all bosh and then you talk from behind the mask. Oh propy goo going and gog on. Bro. You know who you? You know who else that happened to me with Bro? And you all appreciate this one. This is in your backyard, right Bro. I was on there one day and freaking arc kt tweeted somebody right added a clear blue sky. I saw the archet and I said, I said, David, this is Vince. I said, please DM me. I said, You've got to do my show because I've been paying for you for fifteen freaking years. Right, okay, Bro, Bro he following me immediately? When when do you want me to do? When you show here are my numbers? Just let my assistant know cut it out. Yeah. Yeah, see that's what I've been following. I'm that's my thing on the show. As I tell everybody like, hey call me right and my wife is off to the side, going you what makes you think that we who are you following? Trying to get on the show. Come on? Uh, oh, where's my phone? I followed the what's the the Amy Schumert yea, oh my god? Yeah, but what about what you McCall it? Can Zigla Hick hook you up with that? Oh? I never thought about that. Say I'm trying to get I'll tell you how goofy. I am at this because I got nothing to lose. I'm trying to get Kevin Hart. There you go, go reach for the start. But it's the worst that's gonna happen. What's the worst that's gonna happen? Vince? They're gonna go, who's that schmuck or just another fan? And no harm, no foul. I'm going for this year. I'm just gonna keep breaching out to all these When I got the Nobel Peace Prize, Guy, I was daf and talk about it. Bro, I was like, Okay, where do you go from there? But I did a whole thing on the Pope. But I told the Pope to hit me up. Bro, do you go through this too it? I'm sure you do because you and me are a lot of like Bro. Like I'll bring I like Bro. I like bringing a lot of the indie guest on the show, like especially the hot chicks, Bro, hot chicks drawing right, whether they're indie pete, the guys don't care. So I'll especially go after the hot chick indie girls. They're easy to get because they see how they think Vince Russo is this thing blah blah blah. Meanwhile, look at me, right, but Bro, is this worse than anything? So then they agree to do the show. Now you look them up on Wikipedia and now there's three sentences. So now it's like, the crap, what am I gonna talk? But Bro, every freaking time, an hour and a half in, I'm cutting. I'm cutting the interview off. Does that happen to you too? Bro? I have I tell you who I have coming up. I have Tessa Blanchard. Bro, she's been blown me off of Wheatstack Girl. Come on, don't tell me that she did, but she she wrote to me, I've been busy blah blah blah. I'll be happy to come on the show. Yeah no, because that would be a good one, Tessa Blanchard. And because Tessa's come through two of my camps, so we have a little bit more to talk about. I have who's the other girl who I think is a great looking girl's been through it, Mandy Leone, I know the name. I know that, So I agree with you. I think that. And now I just figure out the way that the girls are working and the opportunities to be interested to hear their perspective, going through a few camps and being a part of it and seeing what they're doing now. But I agree. I'm trying to get all the all the independent guys. And I just had aj Kurse on from the Tough Enough. Yeah. Yeah, because you just just talk shop and you know, have it. Whatever it is, I'm gonna get there. I want to get Daniel Peter, Yeah, not because he just didn't another interview ten years removed, talking about how he's bullied by Big Show, build them Up, Billy Gunn and Bob Holly. So I figured if I got him on the show, I can apologize for hurting his feelings. And when you know, two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, yeah, yeah, you see when I bring on listen, I gotta see if you got to go through this too. When when I bring the hot chicks on the show, I gotta make sure of my wife ain't home. Oh no, my, my, my, wife. Look, let's be honest. I don't care what I look like on your screen. I'm six foot two, fifty years old. I have a face. The best looking thing on me right now is my hat. My wife's a realist, a purist one. She knows I would never drift. But too, She's like, who else would be attracted to that guy? But Bro, you gotta floirt with these girls though, right? But I think it's intentional. I think it's a it's a rule for chubby guys anyway, because you're give him a little I give them a little dimple in the cheek or something like. Bro. I always I always open every First of all, I gotta who make sure of my wife's at the house, because she doesn't understand it stick. Bro, she's from she's from Indiana. She don't understand get it. She don't understand its stick, you know. So, Bro, my opening line all the time is Okay, let me just set the parameters. Okay. I'm fifty five years old, I'm an old man. I've been married for thirty two years. I'm absolutely harmless. Let's get that out of the way. And then and then and then I'll just go to town. Well, I had Mickey James. I did Mickey James, and you you you know Mickey and so and Lacy knows Mickey James, and I figure she knows me. There's you know, I'm not I'm not attractive to uh anyone. So I don't have that. I don't have that issue. And the good thing for me right now is my wife thinks I'm still funny. So she sits off in the background and laughs at me. And then you know, you know, I got Mickey James. She was supposed to come on this week, she got very sick. She's coming on next week, right, Bro? You know what I want to talk to to Mickey James about. Bill? You a little bit like me, like when I when I bring on wrestlers, like I don't want to talk about wrestling like they've been asked every question. Ja. Yeah, you know you know what I really want to talk to her about, bro, And I want to get your opinion on this. I want to talk to her about childbirth. Yes, Bill, I swear to God how many kids you have? Three? Okay, you were there for all the deliveries, right Bro? As tough as you walk, Bro, you are blind during a match? You you you paint clean with me, you are blind during your wrestling match. With that said, could you ever have another human being come out of your body? I fear having kidney stones. Forget giving birth to h I've seen what I saw with my son, so he's the closest memory I have. I remember all three. I have a whole I've said it before. Women are tough. I don't mess around the way like I have fun with my wife, but I know not to mess with her because no matter what, even if I was, even if I was a hip hop guy and could put the boots to her, I would fear that she would stand right up and give it right back to me. Women are the toughest. And she did it without it, and my wife did it without They never put the epidural in and it was the worst. So and Mickey James to me, who? And I tell her all the time, I think she once she's lovely as a person, to such a gorgeous woman, and then to give birth like I got nothing, there's nathing. We you know what the worst thing is? I think I think this is worse than the actual birth. Okay, bro, I don't know about you. I'm a hypochondriact. I can't tell you how many times I've had cancer in my life and brain tums, and I can't tell you how many times I'm a hypochondriact. So the part that would freak me out more is the anticipation. Yeah that would I Bro, that would drive me nuts. Yeah I'm good, I think if I remember right, I'm good up until the point where it actually starts to happen, because then it's that oh crap moment, it's this is for real. I don't dread too many things like I never think, like, man, I could break my arm and hurt hers, but when it actually happened to go, oh yeah, yeah, I got nothing. They're the toughest I can't. Yes, I want to talk to her about that too. She's a great she's she's she's really uh one. She's a lot of fun. We we did a three two days or three days together in a Virginia camp with her now new husband H. I talked to him a couple of weeks ago, and that's that's what I want to talk to her too, bro, because I don't know if you know this or not. Bro. Freaking Dixie Carter was in freaking love with Magnus, was in love with Magnus, And I want to know if it's coincidental when the world found out about the Magnus Uh Mickey James world win romance. That same week in the story line, James Storm pushed Mickey James in front of a train. So I want to know if there's any correlation to when Dixie found out that Mickey and Nick were I'm gonna be listening to that one because I'm sure there's Yeah, there's a few versions of that. Yeah. They're good people, that's a lot, They're a lot of fun. Yeah, he's a real bro. He Um. I think all those Brits are like just real gentlemen. Bro. Yeah, you know, everyone I've ever worked with has been so freaking respect. I think they're all that way. Bro. Well, it's it's different, and I think, well, I don't know why it's different, but it is. It's different. And I it's spending the two days with Nick. He he was like so open and honest about like what he wants to do in the business and why he's still doing it. And he you know, to me, the difference is he's learning the business side of it as well as you know the in ring, that's what That's what attracted me to him. Yeah, yeah, I'm a big and both of those care did you ever work with I don't know if you have a cross pass for him and maybe on the INNDCY you ever worked with Doug Williams? I know why did I know Doug Williams? Yeah, he was one I worked with for a long time at TNA. I was just in love with that guy. They're also professional, man, just well, I just you know, spent how long with Robbie Brookside and you know all those guys. They just have a different I feel like they have a different love for the business than we do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's it's well, Bro, the business is completely different over there. Yeah, it's completely bro. I went there three times in the last year. I was never there before. Bro. The locker room, atmosphere there is a completely different animal than it is here. I mean it really, it really is a team. It truly is a team. I never saw anything like that in wrestling before. Well, I talked to I just talked to, um, what is it? And you know who he is? To the Marty the Moth Martinez, I don't think then Luca underground. He's just gonna start up with Luca underground. And that's what he was just saying that they have. Ah, that's the kind of camaraderie they have in that locker room and that and that place behind the scenes. Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot of hot girls from Luci you gotta bring on the show, right. I just had three of three of them on in like the same week. Uh. My favorite of all time is um Carly Katrina. Yeah, just had her on the show. Bro. They did they miss the bow with her or what man? And she what she did was the right thing at the time. She went in there and goes, if this is all you got for me, there's nothing else. I'm leaving and bro evil Lease two, she hates my guts? Why does she hate you? Bro? You want good? Be the media, you want involved. And because I say this openly and honestly, and I say this all the time, probably if not the best uh girl working now out there? Right, she can go and she is good and she's a good looking girl, and she has this great fire and there's always the one thing that always got her in trouble or the heat, was that that hardheaded my way or no way kind of thing. But she you know, I know she blamed me for her uh not lasting in FCW whatever whatever the case was, and I was out together and all these things, and I told her all the time, I just want you to succeed, and if you don't succeed, here go succeed somewhere else. But I think she's great. I know she hates me, and I'm gonna try to get her on my show, dad Bill. But what No, I bro first of all like a good girl. I really do. I like her. Bro, wouldn't you like to bring her on the show and bury it all that? Yeah? It ain't Oh well it might not happen, broke urry all that, Yeah, because I I don't like. Yeah, I don't like the I hate this guy because it will come and tell me why and at least give me an opportunity to apologize or rect the final whole thing. I'm the same way he pleases. Great. Yeah, do you watch Luca? No, I have not seen it. I caught, uh, you know, bits and pieces when I'm I'm famous for going through the channels and I'll stop for five minutes on everything under the sun. Yeah, I think they're starting up all I think this week Wednesday, Wednesday. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna watch it. You know, I think you'll enjoy it. Bro, they Bro, Chris did Joseph. I don't know if you work with him, right? Did you work with him? Yeah? But I never worked with him, but I've had him on the show a couple of times. Bro. I think he's the only guy out there that's like freaking thinking outside of the box. You know, if it works, great, If it doesn't, we tried something different. That's what I like about Luca. Bro. You see, you see things you know you haven't seen in wrestling before. I think that's what it needs, you know. And I think from what I saw, they captured the at least for me, the essence of Mexico there for three years. It's the same atmosphere. It's great. Yeah, well you know I'm watching all that stuff. Yeah, Bro, what are you watching it on TV? These days? I am a die hard die hard when I watch TV, and this is what irritates my family. I'm a big criminal intent, Law and Order, criminal intent. I watch every one of them over and over again. I love on the Discovery Channel the Killing Fields. I think it is now what is that the new show out of New Orleans? The guy opens up a cold case from twenty years twenty years ago, and they're trying to solve the murder of this of this chick from LSU. So is that a shoot show or it's a shoot show? Yeah? Okay? And then I'm a big gold Rush fan? Now I what is gold rush? Gold Rush is where they're up in Alaska. They're all digging for gold and okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I don't know what fascinates me about it. But and then at night I go right to my Uh, everybody loves Raymond or Kevin James or something like that. Bro, everybody loves Raymond, King of Queen's, Like I I've I've watched those two freaking noise Bro. Do you know they're doing? And everybody loves Raymon and reunion? But are they gonna do not like this friends reunion I'm here about. They're actually gonna do a reunion. Yeah, they had to actually all gonna do a reunion. I saw a Ray Romano interview. Yeah, I wanted if they could bring back one show. And I have that box where I can go watching anytime I want, and I know you. Did you get ink? Did you get get Jackie Gleason Inc? Jackie Gleason Inc. Did might heat that? Bro? Yeah? If I could watch what you posted that, like, there's no way he just did that? Yeah? Yeah yeah. If I could watch one show over and over, I'd be tossed between the Odd Couple with Tony Randall. Oh bro, listen, you're gonna extend this show another three hours. I okay, we talk about this topic a little bit more. Yeah, okay, let let's first talk about give me a favorite, give me your favorite odd couple? Uh, the I'll say it wrong, but he got hypnotized. Yeah, Oscar got hypnotized right, Yeah? Yeah, it was it done when we got hypnotized. But they switched roles feeling Yeah, that's that's one of my favorites. Yeah, bro, what about thee with the race horse golden earrings? Remember golden earrings and I and like Felix is feeding them goldmet food in the whole nine yards? Oh that was phenomenal. What about the thirty nine episodes of The Moon Is Bro? I didn't care which one it was. I I don't think I have a particular one. I just I thought he was the fun. I think, Bro Marton was the perfect sidekick to anything that ever happened. I just think that show is hysterical. Roles were hot, Alice was hot. Yeah yeah, Bro? Why why why aren't this shows like this to that? Bro? What's what's going on? Man? Social? They never last. All in the family would have lasted, They wouldn't even made the pilot, they wouldn't even lasted one season. Bro, you're gonna love this. Now, Bill, I'm gonna hook you on something. If you don't know about this, now, do you get Antenna TV out by you? I don't know, Bro, you gotta check your cable. Antenna TV. They play all the old time shows. That's what that's all it is. That's why they call it Antenna TV. That's why I have. I have the box where I can go to any year. I can put in Jackie Gleason, get everything he's ever done. Well, Bro, you know you know what they's just started putting on Antenta TV. Now. I mock out every night I'm in front of my TV at nine o'clock. Bro, the old freaking costs and shows. Brock, how come there are in stars like that anymore? Today's guys, those guys Johnny Carson and McMahon. They would never make the air. Now I did a show on YouTube. On my YouTube show, I met with Ron Seggi. Now ron Segi has been in broadcasting for fifty plus years, started as Djane Erie. But Ron Seggi was Ed McMahon best friend in business partner. Oh wow, Bro. I went to his house and spent the day with him. It was like, first of all, I was like walking into Vegas and then the stories of Ed McMahon and all. And he played me the old tapes and I'm sitting there like this and I'm going and he's looking to go, so you really can. I'm like, I'm so enthralled in what he had so but I firmly they never make the you know, they'd been thinking off because they defended someone. I sit there, Bro, and I just mark out of the stars on every night Lodge in a life. And you know what you'll appreciate now that I never appreciate it as a kid, but now being in the wrestling business, and you know, like the announces that have to get the alan overa when you watch Carson, Bro, that's all he's doing. He's setting that ball up on the tea for whoever is on the couch next to him. It's amazing, star, it's amazing thing to watch, Bro, because you didn't appreciate that when you're a kid. I love see, Bro, that's why I'm irrelevant. But Bro, I want to be irrelevant. If this is what being irrelevant means? Do you want to be irrelevant? Now? I told I tell my daughter all the time. I said, I will stay irrelevant and throw my little things out that no one else gets put me And I'm okay. Well, I'm gonna be okay with that. I'm the same way, Bro, I'm the same man. So I mean we're we're we gotta do something. We gotta do something to to realm here. We gotta we gotta just go out on our own. I thank you and I we talked about it. I think you when I just have to go on the road one show, one show a month in Branson. Well, I'm there, Bro, I'm there. Figure it out. Let's do it, Bro, Let's do it. Let's do it, because I'm not putting on my boots anytime soon. Yeah. Yeah, Bro, we go out, we do the show lived. I'd love it. Yeah, we'd do it. We draw a crowd too, Bro. I used to do that when I first got started. I had a radio show on Long Island, New York, and it was Vicious Vincent's World of Wrestling, and I had a gimmick in the whole nine yards. And every time the WWE came to the Nassau Coliseum, they had this big room where people paid extra tickets to meet the wrestlers. And this then the other thing. They used to let us go in there and do our show. And Bro, Bro, some of the guys I had on the show, this is like ninety two, Bro missed the perfect game on the show. Of Savage was on the show. Bro freaking um uh Flair was on the show. It was phenomenal. Bro, that's what smith see. If they did that, that's fine. Yeah, not this other stuff. Yeah yeah yeah. Some of your thoughts. One more wrestling thing. I want to get your thoughts. I asked forgetting whyss you caught up to this kid who wasn't the tough enough and us, so we're talking about why things were. First of all your thoughts on social media. And then these knucklehead kids, and I say knuckleheads because they're told not to do anything stupid on social media, and this kid goes out and tweets, I don't know if you saw it this past week Social Jobbers talking about the social outcasts that they put together. Bro. I know what you're talking about because I've seen bits and pieces of it, and I noticed kid's got a lot of heat. So tell me the story. So the kids. So the kid who wins at Josh Breedy, right, and he goes by Bronson whatever his name is. Bronson. So for whatever reason, in his innate wisdom of being in the business now for six months or four months or whatever it is, he tweets something like yep, I like it, hashtag social jobbers, and then the roster back to Kevin Owens, and back Cody Rhodes, and and up and down the roster started chewing them up about it. And then, you know, and I think the big thing was they were getting on fought, but they were sending him my message like good luck dressed in the halls your whole career, jackass. And oh why what did he mean by social job They're called social outcasts. So the group is heading Curtis Axel. Oh okay, so he was making fun of those guys well, and I guess in his mind he wasn't. The thing that pisses me off, and I'll say straight away pisses me off is that a guy who's done nothing uses the term jobbers because he learned a wrestling term. So he went in hashtag social jobbers. It blew up so much so they made him take it down. And I don't know what comes of it from there, but I you know, my big thing is because as everyone knows, I'm not a social darling on social media, well I am now because now they can't do anything else to me. So then this kid goes and I'm just looking and going, why I have this conversation all the time, still with coaches, still with talent, Why would you put something there to try to bring attention to yourself that's not necessary? Yeah, exactly. And and it's always gonna be out there. He never goes away. It's always going to be out there. So now this kid, whether he becomes good or not, and I don't care if he's six foot six, two hundred and sixty pounds and built like a you know, a brick house, he's now set the tone for being a jackass. And so now here's the company investment pade him two hundred and fifty grand, and one tweet sets the tone for him. Well, Bro, I'm also reading this too. I think this is along those same lines you hear about like Tyler breezes in all this heat? Now all this what you read about that too? But Bro, listen, sometimes, Brian, it's not just you know, young kids. It's like sometimes you just say, what are people thinking? You know? He Bro, he is a guy. You know. They put him on TV a few weeks in a row, all of a sudden, he's nowhere to be found. Now, Bro, if I'm thinking logically, am I really gonna be asked to be excused and to go home early? I mean, now, now listen, Bro, it's the emergency. Somebody's dying, the kid some I totally get that, and who knows, Bro, maybe it was that that wasn't reported, But I mean, bro, like, but you know what that comes down to. Two, Bro, That comes down to you and I both know, Bro, if you don't stay till that last match, no matter who you freaking are, that is a cardinal sin. I learned that the first day on the job. But that goes to show you, Bro, somebody like Tyler Breeze doesn't even understand that. He doesn't even know that, so he does something thinking nothing of it. But the fact of the matter is, in the traditional wrestling, it's a big freaking deal and you need to know that. Yeah, And in the tradition of wrestling, there's forty two other guys looking to point the finger. It's something you just did wrong to put the spotlight on you. So I don't know to your point, I don't know why he left or what the rest of the story was. But the fact that it's out there and they put Tyler Breeze as heat just makes everybody go, Okay, let's move on. And that's yeah. Yeah, hide in the bathroom for four hours. If you don't want to watch the show, whatever the case is, go hide and't catering. Go sit in a different locker room, go watch the show from the bleachers. But at the end of the day, let them see you walking out with your bag with everybody else. Yeah, bro, that that and that's the thing these kids need to understand. In the back and they had two Um, they're not savvy enough to get it. Bro. You know, in wrestling, one thing could break your entire career, and you may never ever even find out about it, and you and you won't think you won't recover from it. Bro. I remember talking to speaking to Magnus. I remember I first introduced Magnus to Eric Bischoff. Magnus had never met him before. Magnus was very nervous. So there was like the three of us were there. Eric was talking to Magnus. Magnus was not looking Eric in the eye. Okay, Bro, because he was nervous. He never didn't know. You know, Bro, all the stories you hear Eric this now then you meet him, you don't know. So Bro, we walk away, and from that day on we could not even bring up Magnus's name creatively because the fact that he never looked Eric in the eye. I don't trust that guy, you know, the whole nine yards. And these young guys have to understand. That's how it is, Bro, That's how the business is. They can say, and it'll be said. The business has changed. We're trying to change the atmosphere, all these things and this thing, but until like nine hundred more of us die, the bottom line is the blood and guts of this business is not going to change. We maybe have to be corporately politically correct and all these other things. But behind those doors, your name is made or thrown away, your career is made or thrown away, because those things are wrestling tradition, and as long as they're still wrestlers, there's gonna be wrestling tradition. And that's to me, that's just to cut and drive it. Everybody can say whatever they want. We're trying to reinvent the business. We're trying to make it more socially correct and all these other things. And here I am build them out, and build them out only my opinion. As long as there are wrestlers, you're gonna keep reading these stories because it's the lifeblood of every dirt sheet and everything else, because they want to be in the know and they want to be using wrestling terms. That the business is not going to change. On the face, on the surface, it'll change, but the other twenty three and a half hours of the day. Yeah, it's right, bro, you know, bro, And I never put the I never put the blame on the wrestlers because I've always said it's the nature of the beast. Bro. When when you set up a business fifty years ago with independing contractors. Right there, You're sending up a business of every man for themselves. There's no team environment. There will never be a team environment when you have independent contractors. We're competing against each other. So as long as that's the way they do business, I mean that will never ever change. Yeah. I mean they hear things like police your locker room and all they have no idea what it means. No, no, you know, So to me, all that stuff is a well here's here, here's another show I think I'm gonna do for the Brand network, right bro, the Realm Network, because I go hysterical. Bro, you know what makes me laughing. I'm gonna make a whole show out of this. Just go to the dirt sheets and read the headlines. That's it. Don't eat, don't read the story, don't go Just read the headlines and brow there are hours and hours and hours of entertainment and just leave it. Leave it for them for them to figure out. Yeah, you know what, I love it. We will get this this weekend too. When there's a surprise guy at the Royal Rumble. You know, Oh, Rock, the Rocks plane just landed. The Rock is in route to the building. The Rock is taking a dump. Somebody just spotted the Rock talking the triple A. Bro. It's freaking comical. But when did that all become news? I don't know, bro, And I'm what I always say, belt, I always say uh, and you will appreciate this now because you're on the outside looking it. We're not. We're on the outside looking we are. Bro. The wrestling business and everything surrounding it and everything involving it has become a parody of itself. Yeah, that's exactly what it is. Bro. Yeah, yeah, we're we're spinning in a circle. And but that's the running line in my house. I what my door will go, Well, why do you think that? Because it's wrestling? Yeah, you know, it's just your life is geared to that direction. But it's it's a parody and it's it's fun. But you you created the uh you open a door for for like my show, I do face value, and I say take everything. I say face value. There's no hidden there's no hidden I'm not trying that. How good does that feel? Bro? Oh freaking great? And it's funny as hell. Yeah, take everything at face value. Man, But I'm glad we did this. Yeah, me too. Got to ask you one last question. Yeah, how long have you been doing the podcasting now with Realm and Stuff? Well, I think we started back. I want to say we started back in August. Okay, let me ask you this. Does your wife work no from home? She works from home? Okay? See, because Bill, this is another thing I'm dealing with and I don't think you can help me with this now because your wife works from home. Bro, can you vouch for me how hard we work and how much time this podcasting takes. I can tell you that I spend and this is just me. I spend time doing my homework, like when I have those guests like the Nobel Peace Prize or someone else I know, but I like to know, like the independent kids that are coming in or on face value, we talk about current events. So the amount of time that's spent off off air and then the time that's spent on air is unbelievably challenging, like I never thought I thought you'd do, And you taught me this. Be consistent and give them, give everybody what they're what they're looking for. I know with what I do with the three shows, I have football that goes out every Thursday, I have face value that comes out a couple of times a month, and now turning point where I talk wrestling, but then I do these interviews. So there there's hours you're doing six days a week now, whether my wife's home or not, or my son's at school or not, there's still shows and you know that you have to do at night to fill other people's schedules. So I don't think anybody truly understands the time and effort and the hours that are put into entertaining the mask. Bro. You know what's driving me freaking crazy? Bro? And I've been doing this not only with realm, but what they decide before this, I mean, Bro, I don't know, maybe it's close to two years now. Whatever the freak it is, you know, it's driving me crazy. My wife's a a school teacher, so she's out working all day. So in her mind, Bro, because I'm home, I'm not working. Like I'm not your home. I'm not working, Bro, which leads to Bill and this drives me freaking crazy now because now Bro, you're not like you're getting the routine now and you can't get out of it. Bro, there is a freaking sink of dirty dishes. I have to do every single day, Bill, because I'm home and not working. It's driving me out of my freaking mind. Bro. The look, Bro, give me advice? Bill? What gip? How do I get out of this? Bro? I'm gonna make you feel better because that's the same look I get when I'm doing this show and my dog is scratching at the door to go out, and I do this, and then everybody gets pissed off because they gotta get up and down and go. You're sitting there, so I can't. I can't help you your home. Bro. I hate doing the freaking dishes. I hate, Bro. You know what the thing is with my wife? Do you ever do the dishes? Yeah? I try. Oh we shouldn't be. But Ralph kram did never did the dishes. Never, Auchie Bunka never did the dishes. But here's the thing, Bill, we have a dishwasher. You have a dishwasher. Yes, everybody's got a dishwasher. Bro. I have to rinse every dish off before I put it in the dish so I'm washed in the dishes before they go into dishwashing. So here here, So I'm gonna take all the heat off of you, right, now, and I'm gonna talk to every woman in the world that has a dishwasher, and I'm gonna let you know that when you say to me, I'll take my wife out of it. When you say to your husband, I had to do the dishes, then shame on you for taking five minutes and put them in achine. That does it for you. But to make someone clean the dish to put them in, that's like me going out and washing my clothes in the swimming pool and then give him to go put in the washingmoo. Yeah, maybe I'll use that, bro, and use my name because you distance I can get away from you. I watched the analogy with the pants in the pool. Yeah, I should go wash my clothes in the pool. That's like that's like to me, everybody going, did you take a shower before you went in the pool? No, That's why I'm going in the book exactly, Bro. Yeah, see I get this. Madness has to stop. I can't help you there. I'm in the same book. Good luck with everything, Bro, you know I'm here. We're all here whenever you need us. Fans love you man, love you too, Bro. Good luck with everything, But say care man, thank you. Hey, look, I say at the end of every show, I'm build them up this to build them out experience. Do what you say, say what you mean, mean what you done. Don't let Molly, y'all, you flat finish, y'all sail. This podcast is a Jeff Townsend Media production, and the question is do I stay here? Will you be back? Are you gonna come back? Will you be back? Are you coming back?
