Bill DeMott reviews night two of WrestleMania 39
What's she gonna do? Brother? When Jeff Townsend media runs wild on you? Molly? All right, let's do this, alright, alright, alright. It is another episode of the Build him On Experience coming up. Last week, we touched up on Night one to WrestleMania. We're going to hit up night two tonight and review it and talk about it and share our opinions. Not that anybody probably cares. I'm Jeff Townsend, of course, and build Humon is with me? Do you think anybody cares? Bill did? Yeah? Hey, I care, and I'm the one here with you. So that's all. That's all we need, man. Yeah, yeah, we will get him built before we get started. I saw you and you mentioned it briefer earlier. You're at a school. You're doing some work today, you shared some photos on social media. Yeah, yeah, I was. You know, so we've been so busy the other week, you know, we we connected. I was in Alabama and then I came home and we had some we had some schools here, and then today they were recording this. I was at an elementary school speaking to fifth graders getting ready to go to middle school. And you know the cool thing about it is you know, a lot of people think we just have one one program, one presentation. This is what we do. Really speak to high school students of prominent graduation. Well we speak to elementary school and middle school, high school, college team sports, things like that, and the presentation is adapted to that audience. So to get to spend an hour or so with these fifth graders and you know, summer excited for and some are excited, you know, and nervous about middle school, but the conversation is all about them and what they're doing and what they're going to be doing in the future. Deads. It's just really cool. So you get to you know, you you meet some teachers and the one picture I was with one of the officers from Orlando p D who's a school resource officer, and you know, word of mouth. So then they get out there and go, man, this is a must see for these kids and each one of those kids to see that, you know, and at that age, kids can be very uh distracted and like, oh not mad. Meant that when I tell you, for an hour we were connected eye to eye and they had some great questions after and I got to meet some really really cool kids. So that's that's how the week is gone. That's my second presentation this week, and then uh, well go go. April's very busy for us and then so on on so one. But yeah, I try to post it up there one because we talked to the kids so much about social media, so I want to hold myself accountable and I post. And then it's really neat for the older high school kids and stuff that follow me now and the foundation they share so now they know someone's watching them, so what they post has to be in good taste and you know, favor them and things like that. So it's really cool to see the feedback afterwards, and hearing from the teachers throughout the day and some of the guidance counselors how the kids were talking about it in class and things like that really makes it all worthwhile. So, you know, you get up early, you try to you know, these kids are fifth graders and they got energy. And I'm you know, ninety seven years old trying to get up at seven o'clock and more to talk to these kids. But it was a lot of fun. I'm glad we did it. But that's it's a kids are the future, man, So it's it's it's it's important that we invest time and that because those are the people that will be making a difference one day. Yeah, we have a lot of the old guard in and a lot of positions let us legislative, judicial, whatever you want to say. And it's important to get to people when they're young and and try to teach them, teach them these important things. Unfortunately, there's a lot of people trying to teach them a lot of different things. Yeah, yeah, you gotta leave a lasting impression for sure. And yeah, because they'll they'll get to make their you know, make their own opinions about things as they get older. But let's face it, what is it, old dog new tricks. Everybody set our age. People older than us, people that are even younger than us, You can't sway their opinion, right, every nothing pertains to them unless it happens to them. Letting these kids know that you said, you said it. That's it. Everything they do and say. Letting these kids know every decision, everything they do affects so many more people, makes them wiser than we are because our generations just listen, this is what we do, this is how it's done. I'm not swaying until something happens to me. It doesn't, it doesn't pertain to me. So it's a really good conversation with the kids. You know, it's it's very important, and it can't be stated enough. To learn from I'm going to say, somebody else's mistake, but it's not even like to learn from your experience somebody else's experienced. And I talk about this a lot of the work that I do. You know, somebody makes a mistake, let's all learn from it. That's important. You don't want to have to be it doesn't You don't want it to have to have in to you before or from right. And the only way you could do that is what you're doing, boots on the ground, building actual hands on relationships. So, like I say, every week, man, it's important to me that we touch bases on that. And yeah, thank you people. Everybody has to realize, whether it's what the subject matter that you're talking about, there's so many other things that we could be doing to be involved in not only our own kids' lives, but other kids in the community, etc. Yeah. Yeah, and it's and that's the thing everybody should know. We don't talk while the basis of the Carry and Demot Foundation started because of a drunk driver. You don't talk to elementary schools about drunk driving. You talk about the things that pertain to them. We talk about bullying and social media and how to act and and you know, being positive and being an influence in the community. That's what we talk about. You can make young people aware of things you can't make Nobody can make us aware because we should already know better. So when someone says we're raising awareness, that's just an easy phrase to say. We're not raising awareness with adults because they already know about these decisions and the ramifications of them. So go with the young people said, that's where you're raising awareness. That's where you're educating them and motivating them and inspiring them. And yeah, us old cats got to catch up to these kids because they have the right attitude. It reminds me and I won't I won't be a dead worse anymore with this topic. When COVID happened, man, I tell you what, those kids just put the mask on. My kids were used to it, man, Like, whether you support it or not, I'm even talking about that. I'm talking to the kid. It was all of us that hated it, right, Yeah, I can't breathe. Those kids just sucked it up and put them on. Man. Like my kids didn't have any problems with it. We had the arguments, we had the pushback. All the adults and all the people in charge and leaders had the the wise and why nots and this and this, and the kids went, I'm in okay, boom if this is what I gotta do to keep going. I mean because people in their life made them. I mean, they realized they had to do it, so they did it. I mean, that's that's just a simple example. But I'm telling you, man, I never heard complaints. I complained and different I complain at different times. Those kids never complained. Man. Uh Okay, we'll get into the topic here of WrestleMania night Time. Night one left on a positive note as we talked about a feel good moment Kevin Owen, Sammy Zane riding off in the sunset, a real life friendship and it all came together after twenty years and we saw those emotions on the screen. Over at the Dirt Sheet, Mister Dave Meltzer's Radiance will be out tomorrow. We'll talk about that another time. But I am seeing universal praise across the board for nine to one. Yes, I haven't seen too many people say too many bad things about Night one. However, Night two takes a little bit different direction, and we'll get into that. Is that a good segue into the second night, Bill, I'd say it's pretty fair. That's a great segue. Yeah, I mean that sets the tone for this conversation, and I think many more conversation. That's a great segue. I think the night started off a little bit. I don't know, it felt weird, Bill, because we came out with this announcement we talked about last week, the big news, and I mean on the last episode the big news with the purchase and all that, and all this came out right before night too, right, So yeah, it kind of had like a weird to me. I mean, there's not a lot of uncertainty on my end. I think changes will be made. I don't think it's going to be the product necessarily, right, but the business structure and all that. Sure, maybe, but it seemed like that was kind of floating in the air as we started the night. It was. It's weird because we did touch on it, and because by the end of the night of Night two, and then going into that raw, the conversation was no longer about WrestleMania. It was about the the acquisition and all the things made. So that leads me to believe and again not knowing it leads me to believe that Sunday backstage and behind the scenes was a little less care free, happy, you know whatever, loose right. I think that, you know, there could have been some eggshells, There could have been some different people backstage and around all day and things going on, and naturally, you know, we talked about it. When Vince is around, things change. So knowing that Vince was there for both nights, but then particularly from what I understand in Guerilla position on Sunday night, I think it changed the demeter and the energy of what happens. Not for everybody, but I just think the overall Toombbayan has changed a little bit. So yeah, I think second night was was tarnished a little bit by the acquisition. Um Strategically, I guess the way I guess one way to look at his wrestleming. He's already sold out right for eighty thousand people or whatever it is, So that's already done. Let's talk about big news. So they've already got the people there. And if you invest in a Night one on the viewership like we did, well then you're gonna watch Night two anyway. So let's put this out. Let's see if it gets more people watching it. If it gets more and so who knows what the ratings did. But like I said, at the end of Night two, we're not talking about wrestleming He We're talking about, in particular twenty one billion dollar conglomerate and Vince Wigma. We'll get to that here at the end of the as we sum up the evening here for this event. Yeah, we'll get to that, even I'm not sure how much of it, and I'll touch up on some things that I've discovered a red Again, this is all information for Marion Rift of no DQ. You have a tendency to go towards the unbiased things a little bit more so I'm always happy to plug them over certain others. Anyway. Yeah, yeah, so Bill, let me let me go ahead and set the stage here. It's a pretty similar opening, right, It's about the same amount of attendance. Looks great like the night before, and I don't remember who the singer was kicked it off. Hell, I don't even think I knew who it was when I heard it. But we have the BIZ and Snoop Dogg kicking it off again their host, So that part didn't change. There's the energy, that's how you start the night. It's more for I think you lose the effect because they're facing the hard camera side. But like I said that that stadium and the trons and all the things they had, everybody got to see it. But that was particularly I think for the at home audience and stuff, and it's a great way to start the night. That just keep the energy going and you can see it clear up to the sky the seats. Jeez, it was what a great visual. Yeah there, yeah, you literally as far as you can look up on that screen you saw people. Yeah. So of course the first match of the evening. Here we have brock Lesner and as you call him, almost o Moss. Nothing super crazy fancy about these entrances. We see a lot of that throughout the show and I don't think we even touched up. We touched up on a little bit at last time we recorded, but was there anything fancy here? I'm trying to remember. No, there was nothing. There was nothing that stood out all of night two about you know, as we talked about it all the night too. With the entrances, it was very I think it was very back. As a matter of fact, I don't know what kind of other entrance you would have given. Yeah, what can you do? Well? I mean, you know, so you have MVP with them, and he's got his gear on, and but you know, it's a listen. He's a big cat and he has a presence, but there's only so much you can do with that. And then taking a half mile walk to the ring, I mean, how much can you build it up? So that was the rumble, it'd be it is like the rumble, and they get them long ramps on the rumble, it's like, yeah, you get to the coming. Brandy Orton does everything pretty gracefully. It looks good, but one thing is not running. God bless him. None of them are well, I don't want to say none of them. They're not Olympic sprinters. Might be. They they might be the exception, but twenty feet, you know, within twenty feet they're graceful. We're all, we're all graceful inside the rope, you got run to get to the ring. You're you know half of them are gasped before they get there for print. Yeah, there's nothing pretty about a hundred year a dash. No, so not really the best build up here. I will say one thing here when we done going through the match, that I'll bring up that I picked up on and I'll see if you did. But let's just go ahead and jump into the match. I think we knew what we were gonna have. Not the best build up ever, but they did do some things where they interacted, tried to show a little bit of a Moss strength, showed Lesner a little intimidated. And I will get into all that, Bill, and I want to keep your opinion on my point. Let's just go through this here because there's not much to it, to be honest. There was a stair down between the two before the match started. Lesnar charge O Moss and tried to take him down. Obviously what he do try to do a double leg takedown. O Moss just basically threw him right. That was the first showing how strong he is. I guess you could say he body slammed him a couple of times. He applied the bear hug for quite a while. Lessner's doing a great job as selling. I thought, you don't see Esner in that particular position very much to be selling. I was impressed. I thought he did a great job. What did you you agree? Yeah, I thought from from the beginning to your point, from the beginning, you know, and they and and again goes back to the great job by by the commentating team, like you've never seen Brock legs that tossed around like that ever, And Brock. Hats off to him because he really did a great job interacting with this, with this big guy, and it made him for the I'm gonna say, even in his matches with Big Show and in these other cats, he's never looked like the smaller, more, you know, vulnerable person. So I think he did a great job. Hats off to him. I thought it was I thought what he did with almost was fantastic. There's not a lot of people that are built as seven footers or over that are actually at seven feet or over. Yeah. I think he could debate that with Cane, an Undertaker and others, but you can't debate that with this guy. He's he's over seven foot by far. Yeah, Yeah, I think it was notable for me When he choke slammed Brock Lesner, Lesnar kicked out obviously, but Bill, when I saw it, I thought, man, he didn't get any air on that. Then I thought, wait a minute, that guy's seven foot four. He did get air. He just didn't look the same as somebody else doing it right, dark Lessar is a big guy, and he's a big guy, so it just was clouded by size. But yeah, did you see that? That was my first instinct too. I'm like, wait a minute, that didn't look that didn't look right. That almost looked like a joke. That's what I call him. Almost almost looked like a joke. Slap but realizing that he's got to go. He's two foot higher than everybody else's to begin with. So m again impressive to everything they did. It was. I think everything was well covered by Brock in that to make it make the action keep going. The physicality was good. Lesner, okay, excuse me, almost charged Lesner in to the corner, but he missed. Lesner was able to take almost let's just say, to sup lex city, which did not look comfortable for almost taken that. But he was a Trooper Lesner went for the F five, but his back gave out on him. A few minutes later, he was able to hit that second attempt and score the victory at four minutes in fifty five seconds. Yeah, I think it felt longer than four minutes watching it, I thought, you know, it's that selling man. That bear hug seemed like it went on for minutes. The bear hug I thought was good. I thought the fact that the first time Brock suplexed him it was wonky, But that second one that was all Brock, and Brock made sure that he was going for a ride. So that's your point. Be easy with the guy that size hats off because if you can hear about it all the time until you've felt that man, he's just ridiculously strong. And I'm pretty sure, no matter what Omas thought, he didn't, I'm pretty sure he didn't think he was gonna go for a ride like that on the second one, because the first one that looked looked a little bit of a struggle to get it because he's a big man. But that second one was all Brock, and he let him know you're going so almost as well. I belt four hundred, four hundred pounds. He said they built him at seven four or four hundred and something pounds. Yeah, we'll see. He doesn't necessarily look any thicker than shock to me, but nevertheless it's still big guy impressive. I I immediately thought this brock Lesner's on a jet on his way home. Yeah, Citisen match is over. I thought, the dude's gone to town. He's going back to the farm. He got the first match of the night. Was that by request? Maybe? Maybe not. I wouldn't be surprised because what you hear about Brock, but that's just all rumor in the window. I can't of court. I can't say it's true. But I figured Bill he's out the door on his way home. Yeah, and I think I don't think he requested the first night. I think it's much like Night one. How do you start it off? Yep, because if you if you look at that match going forward, it's not a knock on either either person. But in the in the build of the show, where does it make the most sense. Well, let's bring out Rock Blesser. That's so that's the equivalent of John Cena Night one. Right, So you started that off hot like that. Here's the thing that I did not care for in the match, and I would say I didn't care for it's a personal preference. Brock hits his finish on this big man at WrestleMania, and the next thing we see is him standing up on the outside of the ring, fixing his jaw or whatever he was doing as Brock's leaving, and I'm and I'm always very protective of that part of the business. So it made me think, Okay, maybe this isn't over, or you know, maybe it's gonna go somewhere. And then it made me think, yes, Brock's on the plane because he's now now he's really pissed. This guy's not even putting over my by finish, and I'm yeah, yeah, I thought the same thing Bill. When it showed him on camera. It seemed like ten seconds later. I couldn't believe it over exaggerating, but it seemed like that dude standing up, it was that fast. There was nothing. Here's Brock doing this great, you know, telling the story with his back and the bear hugs and he's you know, he's back giving out and all these things. And then Brock comes all the way back to hit his finish and the dude's up on his feet. It didn't. He didn't have like a near kickout either, like he barely got him over on three. He had a sign of life in him. No, he was out and then he was up, and then all of a sudden, the camera's on him and is up. And that's just that's really nitpicky by me. And I say that full disclosure, that's really nitpicky. But that's the things that as you watch and you go, what was that about? So that that struck me odd But I listen and I thought it was a good opening to the night. I think that I can't And in their defense, when you are on a stage like that, you know, I gotta get the hell out of the way. Yeah, it's brock Lesner's moment, But how do you go about it? Do you have all those people there? I'm sure that what time feels like is much different than what it feels like you're a nice sitting here. Yeah, I mean I don't know that, but nerves everything else, I assume, especially for somebody knew like him. We'll look at Charlotte the night before. What'd she do? She was sitting on the floor, she was out of the way, the picture was Charlotte down via up up. They told, they told the story, and then the story continued. It just struck me weird with it, to your point, ten Cent, and I think it was faster the end of the match, Moom rolled out rock Stars roll going up. He pounds one hand that they got the screen and there he is standing there like, hey, let's do this again. So I wasn't sure if it was gonna, you know, whatever was gonna happen. But I don't think he ever got hit in the face either. I don't know. He's touching his jawl. Yeah, yeah, So I think I think to your point, he's one and done and let me get on a plane and get out of here. And there was a lot of talk about Dave Meltzer and others. This is it for Brock for a while, which which frequently happens where you will see Brock introduced for WrestleMania. He might be in a Summer Slam the pay per view before or after. But it did kind of seem like setting the stage for us because he's he's he's a part time worker, and good for him. He gets paid a lot of money to do it, and he that's what he cares about more than he cares about the money, which is nothing wrong with that. So I thought he was gone for a while. And we'll touch up about that later when we get past the main event because it relates to it. But yeah, so I thought he was on a plane and gone. That's not the case. We'll talk about that. Yeah. They follow a similar theme here for Night too. And the second match he was into was that what was the first match on night? Second match? I mean that was the tag team match on Night? Yes, wasn't it? THO was the men's Yeah, So they followed that theme and they go with the women's tag team match. It is live Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez shot see Natalia, Rhonda Rousey, Shannon Basler, who we forgot her name last week. I have no clue why, Chelsea Green and SONNYA. Deville and we forgot SONNYA. Deville's name too somehow. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie before the match. Yeah didn't, and it didn't. At no point did I get overly excited. Not But the build up, I wasn't into what. I just wasn't feeling it, to be honest with you, But I understand the positioning well, like I was really looking forward to my because let's go back to night one we talked about we weren't really we were a little critical of the men's tag, remember, and then it turned out to be this what if you know what an exhibition of athleticism and talent on all this things. So when when the women came out, I'm like, oh, I think I'm gonna be pleasantly surprise here. And it's not a knock on any of those girls whatsoever. But we didn't get it. We in my opinion, we didn't get it. There was too many too. I don't know if it's too too it was too much going on that didn't you couldn't digest it, and it was I felt like it was a let's everybody had to get there, get their stuff in there, and Alb'm completely absolutely when and I know you're gonna go through it, I'm just gonna say now to get up my chest. I'm completely don't understand the reasoning or what other than the fact that there was an acquisition made that we had to have Rhonda Rousi and Basler out there and then to more or less do less than half of what everybody else did, and then committed the end and just mock the whole whopper. Yeah. Well, I mean, I'll go through a real quick but I'm not gonna send much time on air Chelsea. I did note a couple of things. Chelsea didn't want to get in the ring. When she had to get in the rings, she attempted a missile drop kick on Quail. I'm saying that, right, Roquail Quail, Yeah, Roquel Rodriguez, of course, yeah, but she she didn't budge. I don't know if you saw that or not. No, sold that son of a gun as supposed to. Chelsea jumped off the top rope to the outside of the ring to the other opponents, but only to get away from getting away from uh Raquel Rodriguez. I a hard time saying that on know why, But I thought that was a pretty funny moment she took. Then Roquail took her partner, Live Morgan and threw her over the rope onto the competitors. That was an interesting moment, did you, I mean, what did you think about that? I appreciated that that that spot let's call it um Yeah. Yeah, everybody was doing their thing, so you know, I had to be in there doing my thing and then okay, you gett do your thing. Um, let's face it, we're not going to get a great story out of it. But I felt like it was rushed. I felt like everybody was just doing it to do it. Yeah. And at fifteen years I would have I would have liked to have seen Natalia more of the focus and do more. Yeah. Um, And I expected a little bit more out of Shane of Basler, just because I guess you know, I'm a fan. I want to see her do I've I've been waiting for for years to see her do her thing. I'm also a big fan of Sony. I'm a fan of all of those women. But I just felt like you was a lot in wrestling terms for me. I said it for years. I felt that it was like a lot of my turn, your turn, Let me I get my stuff, Okay, you get your And I don't think they grabbed the people's attention. I think they had the opportunity. I just think he was missed. They're definitely still pretty heavily invested in Ronda Rousey as far as the way they're using her in the storyline. Um, I don't want to say heavily. Even strategically, she's still going over and we'll go over that year. Yeah, which, man, I won't go into that too much. But live Quail and Natalia work together powder Baum Shana. I thought that was pretty notable. Yea, Natalia shots he hit the heart attack to Sonny Deville, but the pen was broken up and tell you then applied a double sharpshooter. I thought that was a cool moment. That was awesome. Rod At tagged in and quickly tapped shotsy out an arm bar. I think it was it was the things they were doing. They were working, he goes, they were working hard. It just didn't I just don't. I just don't think it jelled. And what do you get from Ronda Rosy winning that I do? I don't know, man, I gotta be honest with you. I don't know. But no, I thought when they when they kind of Charlotte came back and beat Ronda, I thought that we were gonna see finally get to see Shana Basler get the rub from Ronda. And instead, what has happened and what we see less now? We now we see less of Shana Basler, And so to me goes, back to Okay, maybe they were foreshadowing. Now this acquisition comes, it's UFC involved, so now maybe they're gonna do something with them. So how do you keep I guess, how do you keep Ronda strong? Well, she goes over in the match. I don't I don't necessarily believe that made her any stronger or any more of a threat or a competitor. I don't think it made uh Basler and Ronda Uh a threat or competition for the for the women's tag team division. Um, And I'm I'm a big fan of Roquel Rodriguez, so I would have liked to see everybody showcased a little bit more instead of just doing a lot of stuff really quick, you know. But again that's just that just being a hyper critical. They're wrestlemaning for not eighty thousand people. They're they're doing their thing. Who knows what what they were told right before, you know, things change or who knows if something. I noticed that Shana had one shoe off the next time she came into the rings, so I'm not sure if she got hurt, and that's why they weren't involved, So I'm sure not being there, there's a lot of things that come into play, but I'm not sure what how it helped anyone with Ronda going over. I think for me, I'm gonna say two things on the match. Starting out with Miss Rodriguez, I think that she reminds me of like a big man woman wrestler. And I'm not talking like Naya Jacks, right, Like Naya Jacks loves pretty great flee around the ring, but quails. It seriously reminds me of like a like a big show man. Like I'm not talking to overly big big sean talking show back in the day. She kind of rides me of him, where she just has this like I know it, Nijack's powerful, Like I'm not saying she's not, but like she's just pure power with her and it kind of reminds me of that. Well. I thought she had a really good match a bunch of weeks back when she still had the elbow brace on she had. I thought it was a really and she was moving well, and then I'm like, okay, here comes Rodriguez. Now there she's gonna start to get the rub a little bit, and then the tag teams thing started. That kind of I feel like it kind of took the steam away from live from what she was doing, and everybody had a little bit of steam taken off of that. I mean, and here's to help you get faster when you're in there with small people. Yeah. But here's the good part. And I know this is always the challenge for the company. They want to make sure that everybody gets an opportunity to perform a WrestleMania. The best way for all those women to get that opportunity was that match. YEP. I believe they had a really good opportunity to bring the energy up after Brock and almost, but I just think it missed the mark by a little bit. And again I'll go on record and I'll defend it with I think that Natalia should have been spotlighted more because that's you know, fifteen years and if the play are they going to do it? I don't think they're ever gonna do it. And here's why, because Natalia is in the same boat as a Dolph Siggler. Dolph Sigler go out there any night, work with anybody. It's fantastic he putting Italia in there. She's gonna work hard with every woman she's in there with. I know she spends a ridiculous amount of time with them during the day and trying to help them and life experience and things like that. So she's such an ass to the company, but she's always been in that position, and I thought this would have been the one, you know, because they listen. It was all over social media every years. What's that? You think tis about forty years old? Now, I think she might be close for her and the bells are probably close. Yeah, imagine yeah, fifteen years yeah, and it's all the company congratulated everything else. I thought that would have been a great spot for her to shot because the double the double uh yeah, the leg gimmick was awesome when she put the double sharpshooter on it, it was really cool. So I was as a fan, I was disappointed a fan of that. I would have liked to see something that I'm really I'd like to say, I'm interesting to see where it goes with the tag team division for the women, but I'm really not that Yeah forty years old, by the way, Oh that's a hell of a career. Yeah, i'd like to see that moment too. Yeah. Let me touch up on the wander rousing thinks we'll move on here. You and I could talk all night about this stuff. What I would like to see in my opinion. I could be wrong, You could tell me I'm wrong. I think let's just go ahead and get to Let's just go ahead and get over. Shannon Basler here beating Nard Rousy. Yeah, do it do it right though? And what because it's not, like you said, it's not helping her, I don't think at this point. But if she could just and and don't wait too long to do it, Yeah, she's got to beat Ronda Rousy here soon or it's not. It's not going to mean a whole lot. I don't think it's a better sooner rather than later. Just my opinion. Yeah, yeah, I I really thought that this was going to give Shane and Baysler the rub and I just unfortunately for me, I just see it as we now we see less of shanea than we did before, and then when we see them, it's very anti climactic to me. It's very it's just you know, kind of filler. You know, all right, we will go ahead and move on this. This this broke my heart. Here. Bobby Lashly arrived and held up to Andre the Giant battle Royal trophy on the stage, and there was his thirty seconds of media. There's the I will talk more about that later, but as you're paying, where I think could Yeah, I would have lucked because there was a toss up at one time, right, was it Bobby or was it Brock or was it almost or was it a thing or I don't know what I would have liked to seeing. But again, here's another point where it's it's just to me, it's just an injustice to Bobby, all the work he's been doing, and that the steam he had, and then it's kind of right perception. Well, let's give him his you know, let's give him his uh j F mania. The upside is for business. Okay, there's a pay day in there and all that stuff, But what did it do for Bob? I'm gonna say two things. I go ahead, I think, and I'll just jump to it. Just have him go out there and beat the crap at him? Is why wasn't he just dominated? Yeah yeah, just throw him through him, throw him to the tap, do something. Yeah yeah, oh yeah, he's passed off. He was not a part of wrestleman. Yet he's got to go beat the shit out of them is something man like. And we'll talk more about that when we get to that moment. But and I think the second thing to this to me is I start to really worry about their commitment. I say, they commitment to Bray Wyatt. They is in his co workers days in the company. I don't know what I mean. Mental health is nothing to mess around with it, and I hear that's what it is. But man, that's a tough break on your kind a co worker directly there. I mean, yeah, his name's not even mentioned anymore of storylines or anything. So it's just unfortunately, that's the way the business go, right, somebody gets hurted, you gotta have a storyline, or somebody's out. You're the storyline. But talk about a guy who had all the momentum in the world. And now I hate to say like this, but now, hey it's it's Bobby Lashly. Hey there's Bobby lash It's not whether it's your tag team partner or your opponent. It makes a difference, right, Like I always think of arm Anderson told his story about how he can't they went to WWF that short year, Yeah, and they didn't. They got told they'd make this amount. They didn't quite get it. Then they are going to go back after the year, and Tally stirs the pot a little bit and finds himself with a drug test and the decent offer they had on the table, which they were very excited about. I don't remember what the figures were, three hundred k each or something. That's really good because the way the travel and stuff too is there. I got covered so and Tali gets suspended and they no longer give arm that that bunny. That's the end of that. I mean, Orange said it all worked out, blah blah. But still though that's that is an example of a tag team partner or an opponent that's a big impact on you. Yeah, it takes away a lot of and it's a lot of pressure on everybody back too, because you've had you've got six months of storyline work down. Now something happens, it's out of your control, and now it puts everything in a you know, in a tail spin. But it's unfortunate. And I'm a big fan of Windham and I hope he's okay. Always yeah, always health first, mental health, physical health, emotional health. But it definitely that you definitely see the domino effect of someone not there, and well we kept hearing Brock doesn't want to work with him. I'm like, wow, the hell they're gonna work with him. I don't know. I know the storylines are a little goofy, but I mean at least they're different. Yeah, I mean, but yeah, I don't know. I hope for the best for the guy. But that was a tough break for Bobby. Yeah, and so yeah, so that affects Bobby and now you know, and and the way fan instinct down. Now they gotta wait to see what are they gonna do with Bobby to make me believe in them again, Well, Bobby hasn't changed. She still should have had that momentum, and it could have. You know, I'm not saying it could have been a quick fix, but it could have been something better than what it was. I agree. Do you have any excuse me, experiences where you were affected at something like that. It's like something small, even with storyline team stuff like that, A storyline that was gonna be well, yeah, you know what to call us a significant storyline. He had a WrestleMania match. Yeah, I never had a match of that caliber where it got ruined, But there was a point when we were with the Dungeon of Doom, and then Conan and I were gonna be partners and get a run at the tag team stuff, and then Conan was then became part of the nwoh or or as he broke away to the wolf Pack, and then it was supposed to be um Brian Nobbs and myself were supposed to get a run and then the night of Halloween, Halloween Havoc that pay per view where we were told we were going over. Well then they made it a six man tag instead of a straight tag, and then Harlem Eat went over. So you know, there's always something because someone someone's gonna be out hurt, or someone's gonna be you know, now they're taking time off and one guy's not telling the other guy he's plans, and you know, there's always something that goes on, and unfortunately there's a big domino effect and affects a lot of people, a lot of storylines, and you know, if you're a business, there's a lot of paydays. It takes away a lot of your stuff. So that's but I think it's like anything else where you're supposed to get a promotion and then all of a sudden. You know, the nephew wants a job and you get the dominy. Just hang in there. You know, cops have the same story, businessmen have the same story, athletes have the same story. There's always something that can come up. And but you'd like to think with all the great minds behind the scenes there, there could have been a better representtion of Bobby Lashly for WrestleMania. Then again, it comes down to time. Yep, A lot of times. Okay, we'll move on this next match. You and I were a little bit critical of the storyline. By no means the performance of the wrestlers at any point in time, but the storyline was a little Yeah. Yeah, we got of course intercontinal Championship match gun thro Shamus true McIntyre kind of a weird build up. It's really a McIntyre and Shamus thing. You're kind of throwing gun throughies. Really be just extraordinarily good, honestly, Yeah, we have a match here. Uh. You and I kind of were like, man, what's up with the storyline? But Bill, I'm gonna go ahead and say this, Man, there were some good matches, but this is the third best, second best of both nights. I mean you can make an argument between two and four. It was oh yeah, Op five Lead's it was one of those men because you know, because we've so we've become so accustomed seeing Drew and Shamus do this and every time they have a banger, every time it's their work is great, it's it's physical like this. To me, this is a man's sport and these two represent that very well. And if you they're to me, they're the go to. They're the go to. If you want to make people believe in what we're doing, you stick them out there, don't even give them five minutes notice, make sure they got their gear on, and say go get these people back. And so I felt like, this is exactly the kind of match. After it, I went, wow, that makes sense. This was exactly the kind of match you need to have a WrestleMania because those two men made that third man even bigger and better. Those guys should be still sleeping. That was the most intense physical reality. I didn't care who. I didn't care if Corey Graves would have slid it at the end and pinned someone to become inter Criminal Champions. Those three men, the physicality and then the timing of it all and then to still tell a story to builds up to it. I thought it was great. And so then you look at so we talked about tonight, here comes Brock and almost and then the women and then now we're doing business. These guys are amazing and I've heard I think it was tight as talking about it. He's been hit by two out of the three of them. I've been hit out of by two out of three of them. I love it. I think it's the greatest thing ever. And Gunther took here comes the cuss words. Gunther took an ass whooping and gave an ass whooping, and he's gonna Gunther's gonna be a player for a long time. Hats off to Drew and Sheamus for making that accelerated too, because it was It was really good. Yeah, I'll go through the match real quick, but to me, when I'm watching a triple threat match, I always and it has to be good because if not, my focus Bill becomes where the hell's the third guy? Where he just wiped? Is he under the brain? But this match was good, and the action and everything going on took your mind away from that strange component that we see in these multiperson matches. Yeah. Uh, and I'll give you credit to that because I I mean I was into it, right, I didn't even think about that now one time you're going, oh, where's the other value again? Well, as we talked about night one, edge of the sofa going and feeling it, I'm going, oh, well, you know outstanding the start it. I think his name is Ludwig Luckwig. He introduced Gunther and he called the two studges. Then that's not a knock on them, it's Then's just I don't think he needs them. Um. Some people are talking they could battle against Judgment Day or something. I'm like, no, no, no, this guy just needs to do his thing. He's a badass. He doesn't need these guys. He's not a chicken shit. He'll um. He's not like JBL with JBL is a big, strong dude. I mean he's a tough guy. He was chicken shit. He played that role. Ye oh my gosh, yeah he did. But this Gunther guy's different. It's not like that with him. He doesn't need it. And I'm pretty sure we'd probably I would think we've seen the end of imperium as a group like that, whether they stay together as a tag's imperium. I get it. But Gunther's just he's on a different level now. And they didn't go out to the ring, did they? No, STA right in the thing. I mean, but I go back to let's talk about what I said earlier. Everybody gets an opportunity to be on the biggest show of the year, and hats off to everybody making sure that everybody's you know, represented. So while they while they didn't play a partner, which I appreciated to by the way, I would have hated Yeah. So but those those three guys, I mean, it's just you can't. You can't even there's nothing you can go Well, if they wanted them, like, I could watch that every night of the week and have the same response every time. I'll run through it real quick, interrupt me as you want to, Okay. Gunther wanted Shamus and McIntyre to start the match, so McIntyre drop kicked Gunther out of the ring. The thought was Shamus Gunther picked up his opportunity to get back into the ring and take control of the match. Gunther and McIntyre had a chop exchange and the Crowddy gave them a um standing ovation McIntyre and shame worked. What was it about ten I'm gonna, I don't know what to call it. Beats hits to Gunther. Yeah. Then afterwards, Shamus then delivered almost thirty I think it was twenty seven twenty eight to McIntyre and he received a standing ovation from the crowd. Gunther then wipe Shamus out as he came back in with Hilariat, but Shamus is able to kick out. Gunther tried to finish off McIntyre the power bomb. McIntyre kicked out, slows down here for a second. Other things happen. We won't cover at all. I'll finish up the match here in a minute, but that those were some cool moments and you're actually words can't do it justice. You're seeing Shamus's chest is physically bleeding from those chops. Yeah, they're lightening into each other. Yeah, Gunther. At the one point towards the end of the match, you saw the blood blisters forming on both sides of his chest, and I thought it was great the cover up. And I say cover up for this reason. How I think it was Corey talking about you don't see it on Drew because there's so much hair I mean Ellen McIntyre because of the hair on this thing, because you could clearly see it on Shamus and you could clearly see it on gun Through, but you didn't see it as clear on Drew. And I thought it was a great explanation why you're not seeing the pain and the the you know, the execution because he had an airy chest. So I thought the story of it was really good. But those guys leading from the chest, blood blisters, and just just for the sake of argument, anybody who's never been hit like that, that doesn't go away the next hitting somebody, Yeah, somebody, Yeah, it's not a working punch, skin to skin contact, a very fast, high strong speed. Listen, there was a point where I literally thought, and you saw a gun Through on numerous times in the match literally looked like he was putting his jaw back in to place, almost too much of registering his jaw because I believe he was knocked out on his feet at one point and then the point and I know you're gonna get to it. I'm sorry, but I'm excited again when when Shamus and Drew were in the middle of ring exchanging clothes lines, it gave the people, Yeah, they was right there. They could digest it, they could appreciate it, and that's why they got a standing ovation. With everything he did, everybody was in on it. They weren't just doing things to move on and do it. They were beating the crap out of each other for a and it was like, I can't even sit like I'm getting worked up. I'm I can't even sit still because that physicality gets does something to you as as a fan or as a wrestler. But and they were amazing. The three of them were amazing. No, I agree, undred percent, trust me. I mean I was so impressed. Oh yeah, Shamus hit Gunter with an avalanche white noise, which he followed by a Celtic cross. Guns kicked out. It was well done, Celtic Cross. There's a big dudes. You're doing that too, man, man. Obviously Scott Hall do something similar. How hard is it for do that to a big guy Bill Like he's grabbing it by his under our pits after he positions him on his back and he's positioned him perfectly over his head before he lets him go a little bit. And let's not forget, like a gorilla press, you can sometimes post off the guy's shoulder so you can help yourself. Yeah, you're at the mercy of this guy in control, and that's a lot of responsibility. And when you go, you're I don't even know how to compare it. I guess it's like if you're coming off the high high dive and you're just taking a nest deep lunge backwards and you're just hoping for the best outcome possible. But you got to get them up out of a power bomb basically unbelievable, to hike him rang, Yeah, and just the balance of it, and to be able to control the other person's body like that so they don't slide over. Yeah, go right over your back and out of the ground. Yeah. That's the intricacies that people don't really appreciate, you know. Uh no, they're listen. You gotta stay that McIntyre, I don't know what people think of him on TV. Stand next to that man. He is a big, big man. And by the way, just a side note, Dunther looks amazing. He's dropped a lot of weight and gotten in a whole different physical shape than he was when he started. And to me, that's just that just smells of future and building him and getting him ready for more, and he's that. All three guys were invested in that, and that was the That was the what I took out of it. All three guys were going okay, and I I feel like you could have had any of the three go over and you would have the same response. So Shamus did apply the clover leaf submission, which we've seen him do as of recent McIntire applied a chin lock onto Shamus, something simple. Shamus hit a broke kick on Gunter, but Drew McIntyre pulled Shamus out of the ring and the crowd started this as awesome chant. But again here we talk about those subtle little things here. So what I looked at, Bill is the facial language and body language they looked when they looked at each other after they after Drew pulled Shamus out of the ring. The way they looked at each other, I thought, damn, that's good. Yeah, like you son of a bitch. It's like Shamus looked at him like you son of a bitch. He didn't even go hit him right away, right they took a moment, they slowed it down. It just looked at him like, are you kidding me? And it sucked everybody in and then they went out of it again. Just yeah, storytelling one on one and it was just just veteran, veteran stuff. It was really good. It's the little things and that's why they gize these guys and they're able to do it well under their forties. Now, example is Shamus and Shamus is like why John Cena his age matched Shamus is if you sit and think about the Shamus has been around long time now. Yeah, and I agree with you Drew McIntyre when yes matches with Randy Orton. True, McIntyre is a physical specimen man, it's insane. Yeah. Yeah. And how athletic he is, well, I mean, well we can finish up with that, but I'll go ahead and hit it here. Back in the ring, McIntyre went for a clay more, but Shamus caught him with the brogue kick. So I believe this is when he was really selling that he's about to hit the clay more. They had good timing here, Shamus on his route on McIntyre's route to go hit the clay more. He actually that's hit him with the brogue. Then here's the thing that you're talking about. This article. Why reading calls it about them trading blows? Did you're talking about this this closeline thing here. So basically their inner arms are locked where you can't go anywhere except for momentum right back and forward, and they're basically hitting forearm closes onto each other hard. There's no air between them. This is the equivalent to take whatever physical activity you want to do. Let's just let's just say you ran a mile. Even if you're a good running you run a mile, you need a couple of minutes right, get you win back, or just get your berries back. Shake it off. These guys just did this physical marathon, and now they're standing in the middle of the ring, interlocked and going to your point thirty seconds of straight physicality stand. I want everyone to go go in your garage to your heavy bag that you have in there, because you're all athletes. Go in there and hinting this hard you can for thirty seconds the way they were eating, and you're gonna be gassed, and your arm's gonna drop and your shoulder's gonna fall off, and you're gonna go, Okay, I don't have to do they get These guys stood their tote to toe and by the way, they weren't done. No, well, we're approaching the end here and gosh, I tell you so, then what you're referring to is they broke into a hockey fight basically, so out of this situation they just started beating the crap out of each other. Gunther is able to get gunther sneaks back in, and like I said, okay, here's an example. I'm not thinking about where Gunther is not once Gunther milt was it minutes minutes Gunther minute not once. Ever, since Gunther took that finisher and McIntire pulled Shamuss out of the ring, Gunther was gone forever and I and I didn't even think about it till later when I'm reading this. I mean that is when it's good man. Okay, So Gunther comes back in. This is it is pretty neat. He picks up uh guts a return and he power bomb Shamus onto McIntyre. Yes, then he power bomb McIntyre and he pinned him and he won. What an ending. He came back in and he and he physically dot and made both of him real in a in a quick moment, and he won. Yeah, I mean that's these guys just beat the crap out of each other, very Japanese esque, all the physicality bumb blah blah blah boom, and you went with a small package. All that physicality come in and don't don't miss Unsto saying it's not simple. You power bomb that gigantic guy onto another gigantic guy. I mean, and we're how many minutes into this and the energy that's been expended through the whole thing, And to your point, you didn't miss Gunther throughout that exchange, and you didn't miss any of them. As long as two of them were doing what they were doing. This this thing was golden. And at the end of it, I saw a I don't know who posted it on social media. There was a picture of Shamus and Drew laying on the back steps of the stadium, arms out, just totally exhausted. I bet and I looked at that picture and went that it is so what's the word apropos for what they just went through? Like you talk about three guys who left it all out in the ring, and if, if, if that was the plan going into Max three, well done right. We talked about Brock and all of then the girls and then these guys come out and they ignited eighty thousand people, and then it goes back to my my favorite thing of follow that, right. It was just they were hats off to them, uh to to the point we could we could have another whole episode on the top four or five matches of both nights and they're they're in the conversation all day long. Yep, and maybe even higher. Yeah, like on the higher end of that. I think that it's so easy to take for granted how good Shamus is. Yeah, he's a physical guy. I don't I don't remember when what match it where it when it was? I mean him and Walter, him and Gunther had a match of the year uh candidate last year and that was a quick that was a reminder that you know, you might get used to seeing Shamus every night. Yeah, but man, that guy can go and you work with anybody big from smallest to make Yeah. And I was really happy we didn't see the brutes get involved either. Um yeah, total side note. I think they put Shamus with the brutes to kind of lift them up, and those those guys are really good at what they do. But to me, it's like the imperium thing. Shams shameless needs to stand alone. In my opinion, Shamus needs the goofy. Yeah, that's what he's at his best. He's he's at his best wings standing alone. But yeah, I was glad there was no interference in that stuff. Um and and really really like, as a fan of the business, I was so so in love with that match and I was so happy to see that go the way it did. And that's one we weren't particularly excited about, right that and the right he was one of the ones who're going, eh, Okay, you know they're the go to guy, but there's a reason why they're the go to guys. And all last thing I'll say about it, Gunther has this storyline. The Gunther build up has helped this Intercotinal Championship so much. Yeah, I mean those titles just have been watered down. At least they've got them on people now and they're duing something. Yeah, agreed, they're opposite heels with them here with theory with the US, Yeah, he's not the powerhouse guy. But these runs that they're having, particularly with gunthr with the title, just like Roman reigns, and we'll talk about that. Yeah, how it has legitimized this belt. They all it's old school mentalities come back again. They all mean something and you want to see them now. You used to be all the inc you know. They for a while there they were all equal, not all not the universal title, but all the other titles or championships were all equal. With the twenty four seventh, they all didn't mean anything. It was all just let's give it on the show. Let's have a little haha with this one. And I'm glad that time is over. And and to your point, the Intercommental Championship means so much more now and now when you hear that, you're interested in in it, you know. And that's why they got to stand innovation. Yeah we'll move on, but yeah, next match was going to have problems following that, Like you just said, it would said that a few times. This wasn't a bad match, but it's Bianca bell Air versus Osca. I obviously Osca had those several people dressed up like her and her entrance. Bianca had the Divas of Compton I believe they were called. Yeah, that was a very cute moment. Bianca went right after Oscar when the bell rang with drop kicks, And this is where I'll just stop. I'm really confused here. The good and bad guy are here, I don't think there are. That's my thing, Like, I'm not I'm not a fan of that baby face heel mentality because then I think you're strapping people into following them that way or treating them as such. I think Osca is clearly loved by everyone fans and and wrestlers and and so she's the good guy. And then depending on how Bianca delivers her promos, she comes off very what I'm trying to think of the word did they used for a long very ratchet, right, She's she's a little bit, she's an edge to her. She got a little bit of sas. It's not baby face orientated, right, She's a little bit of a she's a diva with a two it a little bit sometimes, So I think it's very confusing to people. So I definitely try to stay away from babyface and heels. But I think, yeah, but and that's the thing, right, that's been the mentality for so long. I struggle with this match because I think for me, internally, I don't, I don't. I still don't know who Osca is. I personally know who she is. I know what she's capable of. I know why she's there. You know why she's in that match. There's just no in that match because she can wrestle. Yeah, and so high level we get, we get versions of it at times, but there it's like it goes back to that basiler thing. You don't see her for a while, and then she's back, and then she's not involved in something, and now she's involved in this and and uh, I thought they worked. I thought the match was good. I thought they worked really well together. I just wasn't invested in uh, in the outcome, as Oscar could wrestle anybody. Man. Yes, and that's why she's in there, because think about this is a three pete victory for Bianca when it's all said into who she is, pete, who else do you put in there with her? That? And I mean Bianca's gray, don't get me wrong. But else can you put in there with her that's gonna make her look even better? Right? It's gotta be an Oscar that That's that's why it came down to you. Yeah, and then so I thought they I thought they did their fate. But I really did. I thought they did their thing, and in all fairness that I believe a lot of the fans were watching that expecting to see Charlotte Ria and you just weren't gonna get that. You gotta got good. You got a good match with a lot of good, good things in it. But I think it was a given, at least for me. And I'll say that I don't know because probably because I read it to it too much. I think it was a given that we knew no matter what happened here, Bianca was coming out on top. The only thing they've done really the last couple of months, the decent job was putting Oscar back in limelight, not necessarily building her great right, but brought her back. Whenever you get a mask on people, the kids they love that. Ye. And she's creative, she's different than her insurance and all that. She's so good. I just really, she's a badass. Yeah. And can they ever capture that again? I don't know. I don't know. I don't I don't know if the people are, it kind of goes. I think Oscars in the same categories. Bobby. Lastly, right now, if there's only so many things you can do before people. No matter what you do with them or when opportunities you give to them, people are gonna dig it for so long before they go I'm not falling for this again. I'm gonna I'm gonna invest in something else. So are a good A good match? Nothing? I have nothing like to critique about it or anything. I thought it was good. Here's the one critique I did have. And I know you're gonna go through the match quickly, but when the miss, I thought we missed an opportunity with the missed spot when she because one you didn't get to see. It had happened so fast and there was no timing. It was Oscar going forward, but Bianca was too far away so that miss wouldn't have come into play. Regardless that, that's my only criticism of that. Otherwise I thought the same thing. Yeah, yeah, we'll discover it real quick. Bianco went right after Oscar when the bell rang with drop kicks. Bianca had a spinebuster, a good looking one on Oscar nearly beat her. Actually in the early moments. Oscar finally caught Bianco with the Oscar locke, but Bianco is able to roll out of the ring it's so hard to like. Osca is not the biggest woman, and the way they pres enter now it just takes away from the Oscar lock in my opinion. Yeah, she's not this powerhouse just kicking the crap out of everybody anymore. So she puts that move onto me. When you have somebody like Bianca bell Air who looks like a powerhouse, it's kind of hard for me to get into anyway. I won't be set too much. Oscar went after Bianca, but Bianca was able to hit Oscar with a sit down power bomb on the floor. Bill, tell me what it's like to get slamed on those match, because this is what I'm thinking back in Jim, back in the day, Pee you had they put the rope up to the rafters and they had you climb up as hig as you could. And on the ground there's just this little tiny piece of Jim Matt. There's not a gift to it, like like the County Sea in the ring, it bounces, it's just boom. And that's what I saw there. I thought, man, I thought they lost their ever loving minds. You feel that as someone who's done it for thirty something, I felt that I was like and don't. That's why I say, don't get me. I have nothing. Their physicality, it was they're amazing. And Bianca's strength and what was the she literally man handled Oscar out of a crazy ass position and overhead. Yeah. Yeah, the stuff they were doing, that's why I say what they did was amazing. There's nothing to critique. Like they told the story like they went out and they had to follow three men laying it all on the line, and they were doing to say they sheer on the floor. You just don't do that. You just you can't do that every night, right, that's the golden rule. Can you do this every night and be safe with it? The answers, hello, you can't take that every night. So you come out of WrestleMania and you pull that out of your sock and one. Bianca hit it like a champ and Oscar had no choice but to take it like a gym. But it truly was. It was a good showcase for both women. But if you take those things that they did, they was truly amazing. To watch that power bomb being the one that sticks out and then like Bianca given the alley oop. The show of strength was crazy, ridiculous, two examples of that here. Back in the ring, Osca caught Bianca with a missile drop kick and took control. Oscar was on the apron and Bianca managed to suplex Bianca excuse me, managed to suplex her back end of the ring. Yeah, Osca, that was one of those things where it wasn't a quick, straight up suplex shit, it was the yeah up, empowered her over later down. That was another show, another show of strength there they created the excuse me. They both created some comebacks in their own little way, traded some near pen falls. The crowd was getting into it. Here there's a dueling chance. Bianca couldn't put away Oscar and it started to show that frustration Oscar, which I like Osca using the codebreaker something about it. I like it more than Live Morgan doing it. But it is like a good move for Live Morgan. Osca hit that to a near fall. Okay, so yeah, here here it is. Oscar attempted to use the miss but Bianca ducked. Bianco went for the kod but Osca countered into an armbar and here's what you're talking about. Bianca managed to power out of it on the ground, get back up while holding lifting Oscar the entire time, hoisted her posted I don't know you say it back on top of her, then did the move for the wind all strength, just picked it. There's no help in there. You are already being picked up. She picked her up out of the armbar and Oscar is just hanging on for dear life. That's all you could do to help here. The rest is on Bianca, right, and what you have to appreciate again, this wasn't at the beginning of the match. This was at the end, after everything else they did. You have to muster up the energy and the ability to do that. You don't do that on happenstance. You don't say, well, I'll try to. I've never done it before. This girl, woman, this athlete is a machine. There's a reason why she's an All American track star. There's a reason why she is who she is and getting the opportunities that she has because she can handle it. And I don't mean they keep saying she am throbing about Bianca, but hats off again, hats off at the end of the Hats off to both women. I believe they followed the match before them and they kept setting the tone and they gave you so both singles matches from the women on both nights I thought were really good. Two different matches altogether, but both very good in their own right. I think both both both Um, both brand Will represented well, the women were represented well, and the individuals were represented well. But I go back to to your point, and we talked about it. I just really wish we'd see more from Oscar going forward. I really would like to see them really stay with her and give her an opportunity to show kings what she what she does do, I mean last thing I'll say, Really, that's why she oscars in the match? Yeah, because she can, because she can do it, do anything. She can make me uncle look like a million bucks and takes two to tango. That's right. I don't know what you do with Oscar. She's not gonna go beat the crap out of her or Ray or Ria Rippling or Charlotte Flair. Right, She's got to just start man handling the small I mean, the others on the car to become anything. And I don't is that why you do at this point in time? But regardless, I think I assume she's a pretty good one to have around as far as working with the other individuals that says upthing too. Like Bill, maybe fans love her, she sells the merch. It's like the guy on the Miami he uh, you're Donnis has them. He is into his forties now. He keeps getting contracts as a player. But he's just he's just a coach. He's a motivator. And I think you got to have people like get on your team. It's you're not going to lose anything from having her there. No, I don't know what they're paying her, but man, the way she works, I'm sure they're learning from her. Yeah, whether she's great with English or not, which he has got better. And you you just have to be in the ring with her and let her do her thing with you every night and it'll make you better. So she's you know, she's an unsung hero for sure. So we're critical, But this is not like an Omas situation here. She still has value. Yes, absolutely. Is she going to be a main event woman? Again? No, I don't believe they would have a lot of work to do YEA. Yeah, yeah, I don't believe. Is she valuable still and should they keep signing her? Yes? If anything, she is a good example of an ambassador for her country. Yea, this isn't just an American based um company their international travel. I mean, Oscar's big in Europe, big in Asia and all over the world. So they need her. They need her more than she needs them. I think, you know, if I can say it that way, we'll move on here. This is we see Snoop dog in the miss Back in the ring, the miss vented about Snoop Dogg to Snoop Dogg about the Pat McAfee matched the Snoop Dogg made the night before, and Snoop dog and awesome fashion said, my bad, I did think that was funny. Then he h had another he said he had something else for him right, and we're here, here comes the money, and good old Shane McMahon comes out, puffing and puffing, and I don't know how he's just he gasses himself before he gets to that freaking ring. That guy's intense. He's always been that way, and he's always he's never dialed it down. That's that's Shane. That's that's Shane. Behind the scenes. He doesn't dial it down. And when he that music hits, he comes out and he's he's doing that that that shuffle with his feet so many times, Like give me a chair, I gotta sit down after that, like um, And I go by the excitement in my house one because I'm a huge Shane McMahon fan as a person. I've gotten to know him over the years and then worked with him and things like that. So when he comes out, what a surprise. And you saw the fans of all the surprises Shane McMahon. I was surprised and it was great. It was great. We hadn't seen him since that rumble when we all heard the rumblings about he was trying to take a little bit too much charge yea in the Rubbel match. I was surprised to see him. Yeah. Um, And we'll get into it. But always, I don't want to say always, mostly does overachieves that any match's in. That last rumble was a little bit of a turd. But that guy five years ago, it was a five years ago. It's going right in there with aj Styles. Yeah, he was the best wrestler in the world. Then Shane does not know how to He'll never back down from a challenge. He'll never do But that's always been Vince's mentality as well. He'd never asked you to do something he wouldn't do himself. And Shane is the epitome of that, Shane jumping off of trons and doing all these things and going through blasts and only all the things he does. But that Shane, Shane, SHANEO match that energy, that person, that machismo and him doesn't allow him to do anything normal. Is he more like one of the boys? I think like a step like a stephany you'd say, like she's obviously not. I think Shane would have would have been great on the road with us three hundred days a year. Shane, you know, he was, Yeah, he was on our level bowl I mean, naturally he's he's black of a better way to say, he's above all of us. He was our boss. But Shane was one of the guys, and he talked to you like one of the guys. He didn't talk to you a different way, and he was into it and he changed being the ring training with everybody before shows as well, like there's things he would do or want to do or learn, and then he had things he would show us because he has a good martial art background, so he's a he's an athlete, um and he you could teach him something like that and he grabs it and then you know, brings it to attempt. I'm a I'm a big fan. So nothing, nothing Shane does, I think is ever bad until let's talk about the positives. Bill, Let's talk about how old are you? Bill? I am fifty seven? You know how old Shane mcgrahant is. Shane is fifty three? Doesn't look at does he. That's a lot of think about yourself four years ago I was not, or even when you're still a w W we're still working out every single day when you're trader, Well, yeah, we Like I said, we were on the road and we were you know, for myself, I was in great shape physically and cardio and everything, and Shaye would wear people out where you just started looking at like you got Billy. I'm sitting with Billy Gunn on any given night and we're looking at Shane going he's out of his mind, like this guy's a ball of everything, like he's out of his mind. We're looking at the guy and we're the we're the quote unquote performers, and he's and try to and we're going keep him away from us, like, that's not contagious step stainers. I just wanted to say that because obviously what happens here is not cool. But yeah, dude is a beast. Man, He's a beast. I mean, he is a beast. That's what makes this what we're about to talk about it even more insane. So Shane did think the fans for the the reaction. He's very emotional with it too, very sincere started the match. Snow Dog started the match, he says something like, you do your thing or I'll do my thing, or that's your thing or something, I don't know, something funny. Match started. He started doing his punches on the Miz, which he always does. They get a position where they're gonna they're working, they tie up and he's going to they're gonna get into a leap frog here. When he throws Shane off the roops. I thought he was very close to the rope that he threw him off of originally. Yeah, but when he goes to leap he leaped frogs. He just soars over him. Yeah, I mean, i'd the vertical jump on that was insane. But obviously somehow, I mean, all you see is Somewhere between that and the landing, he his quad, which you knew at least his knee was blown out. Yeah, because you see him go down the miss just kept running the rope. I mean, what do you do because you don't know if Shane just stumbled at that point, but it did look weird. But when he turned back around, when he twisted shride to get him, couldn't get up. You lay flat when he went up for that that leap frog, that vertical jump. When he landed, he laid it flat footed. And that's all it takes. I mean, I've seen guys do the same men and women do the same thing. Walking down the stairs after so I was sitting there, you know, digesting it, and I'm going, I know he's warmed up, so I know his body's warm. I know he didn't go out there cold. And it's just one of those freak things. And when you saw that happen, you were like, and you've almost wondered, am I being taken on a ride here? And you completely forget about Shane. He's gone. No one mentions him again, no one has his name, no one. Here's the audible to help all people. Here's the audible to Snoop Dogg and from all sources indicating and Triple I don't know. If you watch the press conference, Triple H flat flat out hands it to him. The Snoop Dogg. Yeah, he gars him all the credit in the world, talks him right up. Yeah he Snoop dog did that. There was nobody who told Snoop Dogg to do that. So the referee stops the miss because Shane has torn his squad. The misses is kind of standing there like looking jacked up. You could tell he's he doesn't know what to do. He's got deer in the headlights. Look Snoop Dogg comes in the ring and dar and he punches Shane in the face and as he hits the ground, they're sliding. He just miss in the face. Excuse me, as he hit ground, they're sliding. Shane out of the ring like he said, you never hear from it again. Uh. Snoop Dogg gets him back up again, punches him again. Then he did his version of the People's elbow, which look like the damn stiffest stiffest elbow drop ever on somebody. He just laid it any I mean, he didn't know what else, what else can you do? I mean, my son was beside himself watching Snoop attempt to hit the ropes and run for the people's elbow. My son, he was at a flat out walking pace and lasting back straight and all I kept thinking, I'm like, oh my gosh, if he falls through the ropes, now, missus by himself altogether. But Snoop did a great job. But let's the ears that he nailed the elbow. He dude, he held the elbow because he's literally nailed an elbow on the underlying hero. Here is the miss. All of this is in promptu stuff like you have to give the hats off to Snoop. How the hell is he supposed to know what to do? But the miss going with it and then making sure he's in the spots and come on, I tweeted that night, this solidifies miss being a first ballot Hall of Famer, his work on both nights, what he does, and you know, things like that. But there was a there was a little it was a catastrophe seeing Shane go down like that and the show goes off and nothing and the people we're invested in what was going on in the ring. They kept it to your point you said earlier about the one bay being out and two being the ring. You weren't looking for Shane anymore. You were now caught up in and snooped all of all people backing into the ropes and doing that, and he's looking for the elbow pad. He just throws his glasses. He didn't. I mean it was it was such great stuff, man, And but that to me, that proved it snoops a fan of the business like he had. Yeah he gets it. Yeah. Is he a professional performer? Heck, he's a professional fittertator. Yeah. Yeah, he gets it, man, Yeah he got it. Uh yeah, I agree. Okay, So I've had three major knee surgeries from basketball. I knew something like I can tell when somebody tries to get up and you see that that something's I knew he was hurt. I didn't think it was a work at all. I thought he is hurt, and unfortunately he was. But I just hope that's not the last time we see Shane mcmannon her ring. Yeah. I hope that too, because I thought that might have been the beginning of something something special where Shane starts to become someone's mouthpiece and helps them to get over and stuff. But yeah, I knew when he when he went down, I thought, oh, storyline. And then when you saw him trying to get up and his leg didn't go when he buckled again, I'm like and like you, I thought it was his nat That's the first thing I thought. Then to find out he tore his quad was just worse. She's a loose so unless you break your dang knee cap and yeah, yeah, that quad, it's about as bad as it gets. But the strongest things in your body. Man, Hats off to them for finishing the segment the way they did and really turning it in. I mean again, there's another there's another opportunity. ESPN, CNN, ABC, NBC, Fox, all the news stations they're talking about Snoop Dogg pinning TMZ, Snoop Dogg pinning the Miss at WrestleMania. Side note, Shane mcbrand got her. There's the there's the focus again. Everything's back on the show itself. So hats off, yats off. I thought Snoop did a great job at that, and and Miss is always I'm a I'm a fan, and and I truly hope that Chane is a quick healer on this thing and to your point, we see him again because I'd like closing thoughts on this could have used an La Night or a Bobby Lashly there maybe, like I said earlier, yeah, I think that would have been the opportunity for for um for a Bobby. Lastly, I think for me the miss in La Night wouldn't almost like one and the same you know, with with the with your things. So I think Bobby would have been a great you know, that's when you come out with I'm Theandre dying over the top Battle World Champion and Stup brings him out and okay, you could have got something crap out of him, beach to snot out of him, and there's your moment. So I wholeheartedly agree with that. They've got to use that frustration factor with Bobby. Lastly, I hope. So otherwise it's a waste of time. Let's go to another match here that it was very interesting Edge and Finn Balor Helen a sale match. Edge made his entrance with the did you see the mask? Yeah, it's like the brood Edge Yeah, yeah, what was that song? It was a Slayer song. I believe Slayer. They said, yeah, I wasn't sure what it was. I heard it was Slayer, which was cool that they got you know, they got that cleared to play, you know, two minutes of it or whatever the heck it was. But then going right into the you know you hear, you know, going into the edge stuff was really cool. Yep, they did a good Yeah, it's important to get that in because that's that's edge. Yeah, Finn Balor, So let's talk about that. Keb's out as a demon to his old old music, which is good to see. I don't know why we've had to wait so long for the demon, I get it, don't get me wrong. Finn's you were an NXT with him, right, Yes, how so to walk us through if you have any recalls one informing this character, because that was the only gap that you thought, like, maybe this guy at WWE is incapable of something like that. What was it like to see the evolution of the first of all the time for that paint, not makeup for that paint to go on, we had to bring in a airbrush artist three hours four hours prior to everyone else arriving, because that's how much time and effort it took. Finn came up with the design each time. It was always different, the tongue was always different, or you know, whatever whatever the case was. But that it was funny because you literally saw a Finn balor Prince Dead it in one thing, and then when that stuff was on, you saw a totally different cat and he truly did transform. And I know, he's how do you how do you get into that mode? You know? Yeah? Um, so it was really cool to see that. I know people were waiting. Here's the thing that bothered me about it is they did the pre show or whatever it was, the you know, as the show was starting, they already showed him in the demon stuff and I was like, ah, you know, so that's there's as things I watched for I going, Man, I just wish they wouldn't have showed the demon at all for the television audience and all that stuff. Just let him come show up, you know. Um. But that being said, great to see him do his entrance, Great to see him do his thing. Harder to do when it's a three hundred foot ramp and all that stuff, but really good crawling for a long time. But you yeah, but I go back to my son goes he gonna crawl the whole way. I'm like, I don't think so, I don't think you can do it. Let me go back a little bit. Were you worried about the kids falling off the stage age with biancle Bill errors? That just me that stage is freaking high. Yeah, and as a young children taking as a pair of young children, I'm huh, oh, that's high up seeing the cameraman full off of their you know, because they back up and someone's supposed to hold their back, and town's coming at them, and it's a lot of moving parts. So I always fear when they have a lot going on on the stage like that, you know, because in this particular stance it is. But it's over ten feet yeah, yeah, I think it's at least one story high. Yeah, it's it's big men anyway. No, that's a different thing there. Okay, So I set the scene here with the insurance, Uh, they this is okay. So they exchange strikes, then both immediately went to the outside of the ring opposite side to grab weapons. Ah. I thought it was a little early to do that. I'm not gonna lie. I just thought that was a little bit too early to immediately just go grab the weapons, but I mean, I get it. I just it's a a hell and a cell match man. Yeah, and maybe maybe the thought and again so creatively, we don't know. Maybe the thought process was, let's not make it the v generic calend the show, so we do these things to their credit and I'm sure we'll talk about nobody went outside the cell, went to the top of the cell. Nobody Undertaker or mc foley did. They kept everything in there, but I think they I think I feel like they were rushed maybe time, so they had to get to the meat and potatoes right away, and that's why they right to the Cando sticks and all that stuff. They fought on the outside and Baylor drove Edge's face into the cage. Edge recovered and threw Baylor into the cage. Edge actually trapped him with Cando sticks in the cage, right, Yeah, that was creative. And he delivered a drop kick from the apron on the hamdat of the mat. I thought that was, you know, pretty that was pretty neat. Obviously Finn sold it. Then he was kind like like laid out on those Kendall stick kendlesticks. Then Edge got a table out there actually chair, and we want tables. Right before that the fight resumed in the ring. Edge used gang grills and the debt DDT then and Grill did but Baylor quickly regained the upper hand. On the outside, Baylor drop kick Edge into the table and the Edge had set up. This is where it got bad. Edge grabbed a ladder and he threw it at Baylor. It appeared as if his he used to put his hands up to block it, and they went through the rung of the ladder and nothing stopped the ladder from hitting him in the head. You're throwing a ladder at somebody, it's gonna just simply be a shot in the dark or where your hand's gonna go if you throw it up. And in this case, it didn't block the ladder. It went right through the way, like I said, and it hit him right at the top of the head, and the ref stopped the match, and I was like, oh, and this is Helen a sumtch. What's going going on? And he's got so much damp paint on him it's hard to tell, but as we figured out later, a terrible gash on top of his head. The worst thing we've seen in a while is blood in professional wrestling that I've seen at least bad. They did a good job of up getting it back at it, but that was a gash. They were stapling his head at the side of the ring. They were stapling his head clothes outside of the ring so he could continue. What a great job by Adam by Edge watching it and then going out and bringing more weapons and taking all the attention off of that. Oh what's he gonna do? Now? What's he gonna do now? And they get back into it. He didn't stand there. Those guys literally beat the hell out of each other equivalent if not more because of the weapons as Shemas and Drew and gun there earlier. When you're the heat of that, you don't get hurt for you physically don't feel that. There's nothing that no, nothing common sense. Why says, wow, my head split open and they can see my brains, But I'm going to continue. No, when you're in that moment, you're adrenaline and you're jazzed up for that moment. This is what you've worked for and you're gonna keep going. And that's what they did. And and you know, Finn wasn't leaving the ring no matter why, And so Hats off to the medical team and to the referee I think with Sean Bennett was the referee, And hats off to Adam for letting it breathe in and taking the attention away from it, and then and then Finn getting up to be able to finish it and move on. You know, But it was did you see the after effects the picture? But it actually I retweeted it and Twitter flagged me for it being violent. Yeah, buddy, even and even the news had the black bar over it. They said could be offensive or upsetting, but they never came close to showing it. That's how it was vicious, man, that it was miss and it's still bad. Well it's hey, that's not gonna heal anytime soon. You're not putting on that and it's going to close up. Yeah, it's not like a little cut from a twig outside. Huh. He I got bad, just bad timing bad, Like, there's nothing different besides not throwing a ladder they could have done. His hand just went through the wrong ladder, So you question it was he trying to was he trying to grab it, or was he trying to get the forums up? Whatever the time he was that ladder came so fast and when it clunked, and all I have to go by is the people that are watching with me. To a person, everybody go, oh, what the hell? And you knew instantly he was If you watch his slow you see his arm. He gets an arm clear through one of the wrongs. So he didn't block it, Yeah, just hit him in the head. He put it down even it went through the he's arm, he went through the ladder and the ladder just came only uppu point ladder was his head. Yeah, And like I said, in the heat of it, maybe he's supposed to go like this, but you're in this physible thing and it's building to this crescendo and you forget to do what you're supposed to do. Well, all I know is I'm throwing the ladder at you. Brother. You better you know it's on you from here on out. But I guarantee that edge field. Not even forget Bill, Yeah, not even forget. Just the way the position the ladder is flying and you put your hands up, it went through it. Like it's just the way the way the ladder is thrown, the way it turned where his arms were, the rung was right there, so for everybody's head, everybody who thinks, oh, they're not real metal ladders and they're just fall away. Yeah, let Edge throw one at you. Tell me how it works out exactly. We'll go ahead and get through this one. But very physical, that's the point. Yeah. Like I said, most blood I've seen in quite in a while. So Edge does a good job covering it up. Like you said, he went for a spear, but Baylor moved and Edge went through the ladd went into the ladder. Wheeler then hit his move right and they stomped him with both of his feet. Edge kicked out. Then he climbed to the top of the ladder, but Edge hit the invailer DDT but Paylor kicked out. Edge pulled out another table from the ring. Wheeler laid out Edge on the table and he climbed up the wall of the cell. He jumped off for his move what do they call it cooptas Yeah, but Edge moved and he crashed both feet straight through the table. Edge hit a spear, Baylor kicked out. I thought that was it, yeah, but then Edge beat the crap adaimal with chair shots, delivered the concerto and he went hahaps. Hats off to both of them. Hats off. Had to get in that damn concerto. He loves that concher too. You gotta get it in and it would have been very easy. It goes back to the we talked about Charlotte the first time, which she got supplex onto her face. It's very easy for someone to say I'm done and kind of just ended there. And Finn could have just did it, or anybody else could have done it and just walked away. But you know, they put on the performance of a lifetime and it was amazing. Here was the Here's the thing that makes me mad about fan quote unquote fans. I know there was a lot of brushback and negativity at the end of the night and even the day after gone. It's a whole soil match. Why would you stop him from fighting and all this stuff. At the end of the day, someone's at any given night, both people's lives are on the line. Whether they think it's entertainment, it's predetermined. Whatever it is, you call it fake. All these people want to call it things, whatever it is. But at the end of the day, everyone being safe is the number one priorities. So I just thought that if you're if you're if that fear feedback on that match as a fan is well, I told ma Soil they should have just kept going. I invite you to come anywhere where everybody is, let me get a ladder, let me throw it at you, and then tell me how you're ready to move on. So that I didn't care for that. That's the thing on social media, right, people can say whatever they want. Well, then you're not a fan, you're just watching it to pick things apart, and apparently you know better, so they should be in the ring entertaining us. But I thought they were great. I thought it again, the physicality and you know, knowing both of those men, they probably watched Shamus Gunther and Drew and said, you know what, we're gonna have to amp this up yet. Last thing I'll say I would say to those people to say that they would stop a freaking UFC fight for that. Yeah, he scalps, I mean he had a gash cross a scalt man. They'd stop anything from that. How thick was that thing? Hell? The width on that thing it was what was it eighteen staples? I don't even know, but you literally, I mean it's a three half. It looked like it was almost half an inch. It's three I think they if I read the report, writes three inches. And then it was like to your point, a half long wide, and then it was deep, you know, and then what I forget who to tell the story? Maybe it's Corey Graves and sub after goes, you stop it when you see someone's brains, like, that's how deep it was, you know, make it making the point of this was not a this was this was a gash. Like glad it didn't hit him in the face. Yeah, yeah, and it could have been so much worse, like a jolly mercury sort of thing, shouted his face and his nose, and yet they reconstruct it. So hats off to them again. They did what they set out to do and they did it in uh big fashion. Yeah, entertaining Helen a sell match. We'll move on. So let me just say this, we got the big match taking place here. Before entering the match, this is Cody Rhodes and by the way, University Championship, but disfeutd. Entering the match, you see Cody hugged his daughter and he gave his weight belt to Brodie Lee Junior. Ok a negative one. Um. This had okay, so let me before we get into this, this had a big fight feeling. I was feeling it. Yeah, I thought this is the big fight of the It felt like the huge boxing match once at a lifetime. It felt like a once in a lifetime boxing match to me. I was feeling it. Man. Yeah, I'm just sitting here listening to you because that's the way I felt like. You knew this was the reason. This is what everybody was waiting for. And this is Roman rains Man. He is he is becoming mister freakin WrestleMania thirty seven seventh straight main event wrestlemanian Mania. I don't know, but I mean, the only person that's topping a Rustlemania is an undertaker at this point. Might Big Michael's amazing at WrestleMania, but dude, this just start thinking about what he's done at WrestleMania. Who he's beat at WrestleMania. Yeah, the seat as the lessner, the Undertaker, this guy is just he just wins at WrestleMania. I mean, this is his this is his night, this is his time, and the build up has been going on for a year with Yes, this match Roman's been It's been going on for years. Years appears, but to your point, this is two and a half years. Yeah, yeah, this is this is the big fight feel. This is what everybody came. It didn't matter what the to me, right because for years, for a whole year, everybody thought it was gonna be the rock for it was gonna be this one or that one. The end of the day, everybody was there because they knew in the main event it was going to be Roman Reigns versus someone. He has a piano and saw them playing him to the ring. Yeah, he came in with solo of course. Paul Hayman. Michael Cole here again, Michael Cole, it is he just walked you through everything I did. Just think about the people the Roman Rains just beat. So you are getting even more of this big fight feeling as Roman Rains coming down of the ring. He's beat everybody at WrestleMania. Man, Michael Cole's selling it, telling it to you, and it's elevating the anticipation of this match even more. And that's what people They give Michael Cole a out of shit man, but he's good at this man. Yeah, and think about the person who's not your average wrestling fan who's tuning into WrestleMania because they've heard about something they don't know the Roman rings story. Well, they just found out about the whole thing and now they're invested. First time fans, casual fans, now they know who he is. When you start dropping names like John Cena, the Undertaker, and brock lest they might know them people. Yeah, so just to kind of build it up, Yeah, I agree. So we talked about who he had a ringside and then we'll get in more of that later. The crowd popped when the bell rang, and there was a stair down between Rains and Cody before they locked up. Cody got the advantage and Rinch took a break on the outside of the ring. Of course, Haymon giving him a pep doc. I believe he was saying things like, you're the champion, he's nothing, you are WWE. You could hear all this on camera on the mic. It's just great stuff. Yeah, I mean, how do you know you're going to pick up all that? Behavin just does it because it's what Haymon does and it's great and you just have to follow Paul if he's out there you know something's gonna happen. You know something's gonna happen. And yeah, I mean that's how good Paul Hayman is too. Though. He gets over there, he's talking very loud and clear, and it picks all of it up. I mean, you hear him Pep talking to him. He's frustrated already to start the match, and we'll get more into it here. Cody got in some offense, but then Raine took him troll after hitting a power bomb. It is a nice power bomb. The fight went to the outside of the ring. Rains slammed Cody onto the ramp pull, which I never want to take. I hope it all goes to your feet, not your back. It goes to rash man. Yeah, you just hope your legs hit. You know, the timings a little right, but there's no there's no give to the ramp ye anyway, took a okay, yeah, sorry I left off. Every time I pop back up to make sure I'm not interrupted, you actually lose track. That's what happens. By the way, for those listening, I like to keep it off my screen. Amby able to look at you, so it gets a little tricky, Okay, so Cody's making a comeback here. This is when Solo first gets involved. He gets a still chair out whether the referees distracted, and he gives him a kidney shot with a chair is how I would describe it. Yeah, grabbed his ankle, yep, grabbed his ankle, make sure he went down. Rains tried to put Cody through the announced table, but Cody gave Rains a back body dropped through the other table. Cody was selling his ribs but managed to get Rains back in the ring. Cody hit the cutter, but Rain the cutter, but Rains kicked out. And I do want to stop here and say something. These guys do the little things right, and we talk about that. I watched a w and I really don't want to be the guy that's crapping on aw. But Rains and Roads here are actually making sure they break the count up. They get back in the ring. Rains several times on the outside as he's punishing Roads takes a second to get back in the ring, come back out. And that to me does a lot to me because Dan Angler, who by the way, who he is from Indiana, love me some Van Angler, Rudy Charles known previously TNA. He is from Indiana. Just for those folks, he actually used to run a promotion in Evansville and was a wrestler himself, but primarily known locally for running his promotion. Pretty well known figure in the community down there, which is Evansville is the third biggest city in Indiana. So the Kentucky border for those of you evans bits like Illinois anyway, Kentucky border. But he's from Indiana, so I always make sure to give him credit when I can. He's he does a lot for the company, and I believe he's in talent relations and yes, well yes see this guy's a referee, guys, but don't he's involved in the company, and he does a great job. Man eight. You know that's but it goes back to the chi you said it, the little things that to me make everything legitimate. Like there's there's rules to this game, pre determined uh, fixed outcome, whatever it is. If there's rules to it, you have to abide by certain rules. The match can change, or the finish or the or the winner can change. In the artbeat on a ten count because if you're if you lose your mind, then don't break the count Now you're putting it all on Angler. But he's not gonna take the heat for that. He's doing his job. So these guys are telling their story and at the same time bringing the people with them and going why why did he stop? You have the upperhand. He's gonna get counted out. You can't become the champion that way. Boom Right. If Roman didn't make it, Roman is doing it on purpose, right, But if Cody doesn't make it, Cody's losing this opportunity. These things make a big difference to me. Yes, I was watching John Moxley match while back and dudeh ref just stopped counting, dropped his hands. Man just dropped it. You just quit. To me, it's part of the show. It's part of the art. And what here, here's what here's what they do well too. And I'm just gonna stay say this and I'm sure we'll talk about this forever in the day. Here's the other thing is the WWE referees are part of the show. They're not characters, whereas right now aew their referees are characters. They like to use that woman referee Aubrey is that what's her name? They like to use her. I understand she has a lot of hats she wear for the company and stuff, and she does, but she's a character, so she becomes part of the matches, you know what I mean. And so that's what I feel like the guys, the guys and the girls at wwe do you do a little bit better of is making sure that everybody stays true to the to the art form if you will, or you know, whatever you want to call it, but they stay the competitiveness, yes, yeah, yeah, the sport aspect of wrestling. I guess we could say so. No, man, I'm I'm a strickler for the little thing. That's a great point. Okay, we'll get back into here. So Loo gets involved again. He uses the way belt on Cody while the referee's back was turned, but the referee heard the sound. Here we go the Angler, Dan Angler. Right by his body language and emotions, he is selling and telling you. He didn't even say, like, did you edit anything? You can tell Dan has just eddicated. I didn't see you do it, but I know you hit him with that bell. I can't call the match because I didn't see it. Right, Well, you're gonna get the hell out of here. Yeah, he kicks him out because of and I thought Dan did a great job there also, Yeah, playing that up right without saying anything. Really you heard that belt shot like he o, yeah, he laced him again. Yeah, it's real, Bill, There's no way Dan the referee didn't hear that. And the referee turned around and he knew he heard it, So that also made it more real. You don't have to ask the people did he hit him? You know he did it, but to your point, he can't prove it. But guess what he can do. How't you go? That's what he did and we'll get we'll see it solo again, obviously, But another great moment from the referee there. I thought absolutely here. Okay, so Rains tried to use the belt, but Cody caught Rains with a super kick. I didn't see it. I don't know if I caught the THI slap on that one. I looked pretty good. Cody nailed the cross roads, but Rains kicked out Cody. He hit the pedigree, Rains kicked out again. This is where you know Rains is not some chicken crap guy. Man. He'll he's tough man, He's a competitor. He often sways away from a fight and gets helped. But he's not a complete like JB. Like we talked about earlier, this guy could take care of business too, and they do a pretty good job about showing that with him. Yeah, and his expressions on the kickouts and and all that stuffs, like he can't believe he's actually getting covered this many times and one night, you know that kind of thing. And and to your point, Yeah, everything we've talked about, they're they're telling the story continuously, not just with the physicality, it's the in between stuff that it's really enhancing the story for everyone. Rains regained up her hand and he hit a superman punch cold. He kicked out could He avoided the spear and put the figure four leg lock on Rains escaped. I thought that could have went out a little bit longer. Yeah, drawn out a little bit longer, but I'll just be a nitpicky now. The two traded blows and Rains hit the spear, but Cody kicked out. Rains applied the guillotine, and I liked this. Cody initially fought out of it, but Ranch is able to reapply it right because he kind of laid down with it. Just when it looked like Cody was finished, he broke out and delivered several punches. Cody went to kick Rains, but axcidentally hit the referee. Here we go, with the referee down, here we go. This is when we this is when the storyline, all the characters come into play. Here, Bill, this is good storytelling without Oh God, let's get to it. Then I'll say it. Yeah. So with the referees down, the USA has attacked Cody and laid him out with the one D. However, Kevin Owens and Sammy Zane came in through the crowd, I believe, and made the save, took down Rains with a stunner and a hula kick. Cody made the cover, but Rains still managed to kick out. They started fighting with the USAS and they got the hell out of there. They at that point in time, the match was not determined because of them, right and you were everybody and their brother was thinking when they came down, either A, the USOS are going to cause this match to go or be Zaying and Owens are going to save the match from happening like that, Yes, but regardless, they were going to have an impact on the match, he thought, So they go to the crowd fighting and they're gone. The match continued as Cody and Rains continued to trade blows. Cody did the dusty bionic elbow, followed by the crossroads multiple times. He did the elbow, He did the fall down. Do you like that punch he does where he falls down and he's like the gold, like the gold. That's a gold dust thing. That's a gold dust thing. So you know, he represented his brother and his dad. Um, I know Cody does that a lot. Um. I don't know if I don't like it or I do like it. I because Big boss Man used to do the same, the same thing. Okay, yeah, you know I like it. Yeah, I it doesn't bother me. It to me, it's it's a it's different than just staying there and punching someone. Right, There's some movement, there's some and it gives the other guy ability and there's ability to to sell it differently, you know, as you get hit. So I don't I don't mind it at all. Until you just said it. I really never even thought about it because I you'd become accustomed to it, and it's action and it's different than everybody else would just stand there and does their thing. It was a good shot. Yeah, it's a big shout out to dust and and and and Dusty when he when he did the biomic elbow. Really cool, so feel good moment. He hit what two crossroads, right, Hayman as he's in and he's in, he's holding him right, he's he's coming. He's rolling through with these cross roads, not letting him go. Haima jumps up on the apron after the second one, I believe, and the timing was a little bit off as Cody kind of like I think he probably wanted to be a little bit closer to that turnbuckle when he hit that last one, But nevertheless he kind of walks rain he has rain still it kind of they play it ended up looking okay, right, he's seeing the referees distracted. He's back it up to the corner and Solo comes in and he steps into the ring with he has a hoodie, comes into the crowd. You can't tell who it is. I could tell who it is it and out there's like who the hell is that? It's like I could tell, right, I don't have any damn shoes on, right, anyway, he hits them in the throat, right his move, and then Cody staggered from that, and Rains bounces off the ropes and hits a beautiful spear a wins. All the air came out of the place. This was it. Everybody knew in their hearts, no matter what they saw the rest of the two nine thoughts, So they knew. We think, yeah, you thought so, and I and I said, what if he doesn't win? What if Rains wins? You didn't think. You didn't think you'd win, right, I didn't really, but I thought there may be a chance. But you really didn't think he'd win. To your point, who did we forget about? After all that, we saw Zane and Owens, we saw the usos, we'd saw Solo get kicked out, now we see Paul And who are we not even thinking about? Is Solo comes back out opposite of where he came in. And the LOODI was for the crowd, just seeing someone go through. They don't know it. So by the time he comes into the picture, oh yeah, hell yeah, we know it. That get Get and Wash timed out well after the hit. It looked great. The timing of everything was amazing. Yeah, growing stubbles and dude rains, get hit those robes and pick up speed man. And he has I'd like his spears better than Goldberg. Yeah, and the reason being he has this like and better than Edges and I like this. But he has this leap and it's a distance when he makes that contact. Man, he has this flow to it. Yeah, he is, he is. He explodes into it, I mean completely explodes into it. I think it makes a difference. But yeah, the crowd just the air gets taken out of the place. H Cody does a good job of sitting there in his frustration. He's very emotional. He's looking up to his father. Actually I saw I don't know if you picked up on that. He kind of looked up and it was just like, damn it, blew it or gots greater. It wasn't even like a pouty look. Nope, it was more or less a damn it. And that's how they've ended. He had to finish the story. Guess what. Yep, that's just the beginning of the story. He still has to finish that story. But it wasn't gonna be on that night, those guys, and that's where we go let's go back really quick, not to stay over this, Let's go back really kick. We talked about the first match, the women that you know, everything that happened built up to that, no matter what happened before that match, everybody forgot about it by then because when yep, we had the one, two three and that place the face and we're talking about it because they're getting faces and reactions from a distance to look like they're right on the people. You can't plant people and go hey if this time make a face. No, these people are going It was the same effect as when Undertaker was beat for the streak. What the hell did I just watch? Like Cody, There's no way. This isn't fair. Cody's supposed to win. All these things happen, and then to your point, there's the shot Roman on the up, Cody on his butt looking up, not even deflated. Just damn it. I lost a moment there. I didn't I didn't capitalize on it. And storytelling one oh one and Nyde, I think Corey's deck Corey, Cody's done an amazing job coming back from the injury and telling this story and building it because he had to overcome the Sammy's aims story as well. He had to become the more important guy. And so everybody's worked in this thing, but the Roman has kept this thing going so beautifully with assistance from the brothers and from it but you know, and the Wise Man and Solo and but it's Roman who's always clearly in control at the end of it. And that's what that's what makes me a fan of this crazy, lopsided, predetermined all this other because you took everybody in a ride and they paid the see you lose, and you took their money. There's really when it came down to. And it was so awesome. The timing on all things was spectacular. When's the last time we Okay Rains obviously has been winning, but when's the last time wrestling? Man? He ended like that man where there's no feel good moment at all going on here? So then where do you see the runnings and all these things and it and where That's what it would usually end on the running But no, they disappeared and it went back to the main character. But to your point, everybody leaves WrestleMania on the feel good moment, not now, not now. Let's get into something here. I talked last night about a pull that I did on Twitter. Overwhelming out of three four three hundred, four hundred people, ninety two percent said thumbs up. I propose the question again after night two thumbs up, thumbs down thumbs in the middle got about the same amount of votes around about around four hundred. The percentage breakdown was as followed, thirty four percent said thumbs down. Then it broke down like evenly after that the thirty three or whatever in the middle, like it went down a point each where the least amount of votes were thumbs up, really the most were thumbs down. Then thumbs in the middle. A lot of chirping online begins about Vince make Man, the creatives out of control. And then it obviously didn't help that it wasn't the best entertaining Monday after many ever. But here's where it starts, and we're still talking about it. But let me say this. We are talking about Cody Roads more now than we were you and then, and this is where my buddy and you and I talk about him, and we talked about Dava Greck and the bust that open and Davla Greck is a big cuddy. Cody Rhods fan. He literally is arguing with his co stars there and going, well, it's wrong. No, it's not wrong. Cody's never been other than he is right now. Nobody has more people behind Cody Rhodes now than he ever could have had because if he won, that's the highest of the high. Where do you go? He finished the story. Okay, Cody's done, let's let's start working on Bobby lastly, No bit there. It's always going to come down what's best for business and what's best for for bringing people back, and it's just people. I think it's a compliment that the thumbs that everything kind of evened out because people were upset. People were upset and so they didn't like that. They didn't take it for what it was. They took it to heart right there there back. They didn't think it was a shitty show. They just had as a shitty ending. They had such an impact on them they were going to do that. Yeah that They're like, no, I didn't like it. I thought it was terrible, or I thought it was medio. For that, that's a bigger that's a bigger credit to everyone involved. And then it but it goes back to our point originally when you and I started talking tonight. On this episode, WrestleMania was overshadowed by the by the news of Vince being back in the back, and then the acquisition everything else. It kind of took away from that magic that we just watched for two days, which is a shame. You know, it's a shame. But as far as night too, I think I think it's fair to say it started out okay, it got a little wonky. There were some things that happened that don't normally happen, and the end result isn't the result that everybody wanted. But I guarantee the ratings for Monday Night, and I don't know what they are, I guarantee they were skyhig because everybody wanted an explanation. That were they They had to be because people wanted they wanted an explanation. You better justify why not only am I listening about this acquisition and the billions of dollars for one person and all this other stuff. I want to know why Cody lost and then they got another kick in the nuts by the end of the night. You know, so great, that's wrestling. I love it. So to wrap it up here, I'll say you and I. Since we've been doing this podcast, I remember it's making the comment to you, I love this storyline so much because I don't know what's going to happened. So many different things can happen. If this is an example of that. At the post, I kind of like these post conferences when Triple H talks some of the hook stuff with the wrestlers. I don't really care about that, but I like the Triple H breakdown, the business aspect breakdown, and him answering questions, the storyline questions. He said, we feel like there's more to the story to tell. What kid you say to that you have to wait and see. Now, like the story's going to go on. Cody Rhodes, he got hurt. That was his comeback. It's more than that. Now we know he had this terrible injury. He came back, but man, he just got screwed and that is more. That's way more worse than than the injury, right because we can't relate to that. We could, we could see him there and feel that moment it was. It was man, I tell you that. That's that says something when you don't know what's going to happen next because usually you can guess wrestling, right, and General Hospital has been on been on the TV for what fifty years? Yeah? Yeah, okay, they're storytelling. Sometimes I'm not a soabarbera, but listening to people talk about it and then finding out it's fifty years, they're storytelling and you may not like it that week, but you come back and watch them the next week because your character, your favorite uh villainess or whoever you know these people are, you're gonna watch it. And what what these men and women do on a nightly basis is physical storytelling. And you just you just told the whole world we're not done yet. If that's not enough to make you tune in, then then you're not a fan anyway. But I guarantee the people that gave you the medium thumb or the thumbs down, I guarantee you they were watching Monday night your comments if allowed it first ending ever, I mean, they want to response, you want. You literally made people so mad. I watched two nights for that finish. Yeah you did. And guess what You're gonna watch Monday and you're and you're gonna continue to be mad. But guess what you're being taken on a ride by some great storytellers. And to your point, I love the fact that Triple H does the post postings because there's someone there who's in control. People don't need to get themselves over and interviews after a show. They don't need to be cussing and doing all these things and breaking character or talking smack or getting your own agenda or you know whatever, talking about you know what I mean, just anybody. I saw Kevin and Sammy and Sammy they were talking about you know, we talked about it, um uh PWG and it's just a nice moment. Let's move on. So Triple H doing that sums it all up and says we're not done with the story. Just just put that in your pluck and run with it and be a fan of what's going to happen. Because the same people that are upset now sometime soon and it may not be till next wrestle me, but they're gonna come back and you're gonna get that poll again and they're gonna be like that. Unlike the Nwoh. He will lose eventually, yeah, right over, rights will lose, guys, when the time is right, maybe you won't agree with it. Maybe we all don't agree with it. But at the end of the day, he will go down and somebody will go over and and the reincarnations, the reincarnations won't happen. I mean, it's not gonna be like the nlwo here and you're gonna and everybody will be tuning in to see when that happens because you don't know. Now you thought you knew, but you don't. Yeah, So okay, real quickly, the next night on Rawle, we had brock Lesner come out and buddy up with Cody Rhodes to take down the bloodline, and then he turns on him later and this disproved my point. If he's on a jay on his way home was wrong. And here so a lot of information has come out over the last two days about this. The dirt Sheets, let's say, and there's a little bit different spent on things than what the dirt sheets normally are. The dirt Sheets are saying, Hey, contrary to what you think, Vits McMahon had nothing to do with any of that. They it brock Lesner hasn't. This is what they're saying. We obviously don't know. Brock Lesner hasn't known about this for I mean, weeks, months, whatever. This was the plan for him to beat the shit out of Cody. That was the plan, is what's being said. It's not Vince McMahon pulling a quick one over on Monday Night or at WrestleMania. This was a plan. Like what's Lessner's long term plan, we don't know yet, but the plan. This has been the plan for him to go after Rhodes after the match. You know who knows what the plan is the one guy who's tied to everybody in this story. There's only one guy tied to everyone in this story, from Ussos to Sammy to Kevin to Roman to Codys, only one to Rock. There's really one guy that's the wise man. Yeah, you think people are pissed off? Now in my mind, I've become so creative. It's like, oh my gosh, you could be this, and oh that's gonna be this, And at the end of the day, I don't care. When Rock then that that made eight people matter. Now it made people start wondering. Now you hear, it's not Vince. This has been the plan and this is what and now people are mad because they thought it was Vince, and they thought it was this, and they thought it was that should Now every here's what everybody's doing, including you and I. We're talking about the WWE again, and we're not talking about it going oh it's gonna be sold, or oh there's no live events that we're talking about everything they put in front of us, and now you have to watch. You have to tune in. At a time when I thought I could catch up and maybe watch the first hour and then you know, catch up to you know something. On Friday night, I find myself intrigued again and I say I say this, and I don't mean it lightly. I'm a fan of the business, but if you can if you can get me second guessing or trying to figure it out, and now I'm saying I don't want to know what, I want to watch it. It always goes if you can work the boys right, then you know you're doing well. And I think they have everybody in that mindset now. So for me as a fan, I'm very interested in seeing who it is. And I don't mind being mad at one guy one week and rooting for the guy next week. But this storyline is the best thing they've done in a long long time. Finish it up with the press release. Bill, this says everything we need to know right here, w say out the following press release most successful WrestleMania of all time. WrestleMania thirty nine smashes viewership, gay, sponsorship, merchandise and social records. So this is an announcement here today. They this was earlier this week. WrestleMania thirty nine became the most successful and highest grossing event in the company history. The two night events sold out the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, set new records for viewership gate. Like everything we just said, Night two of WrestleMania surpassed the existing global viewership record by thirty three percent, just one day after a Night one surpassed the existing glowership viewership record by twenty eight percent. WrestleMania thirty nine generated a gate, and these two nights combined a gate of more than twenty one point six million. And Bill, let's talk about this. Sm Polk was able to get aw over a million dollar gate. They have a twenty one point six million dollars gate for these events, which is absolutely insane. In addition, WrestleMania thirty nine broke all time sponsorship and merchandise records. Sponsorship revenue clips twenty million, more than doubling the previous record. Merchandise sales were up twenty percent versus the record that was set last year. Wrestling at thirty nine became the most social wrestle like social media interaction event of all time, with over five hundred million views and eleven million hours of video consumed over the two days, a forty two percent increase from last year.
