What's she gonna do? Brother? When Jeff Townsend media runs wild on you, Molly, did it make sense though when I was talking about that setting button or not when you had to go to click on that setting button and see, Yeah, but initially it wouldn't let me click anything. It just froze the screen. So I heard you, and I'm going so I called my daughter. I'm like, Casey makes sense of this for me, and she went pressed that. Dang, she's an americle worker. I'm great with legos though. There's a reason there's two people doing the building on experience. Yeah, okay, wow, all right, all right, all right we are here. Of course, I'm Jeff Townsend. It with me is Bill. I try to do the Albert de del Rio thing, but that isn't really worked for Dumont Dermont. Man, we haven't talked in a couple of weeks. You had a couple of you had a family baseball outing. Then I had a severe stomach virus outing last week. So we're finally touching bases again. Man. Yeah, yours was a true outing. Mine was eightfull tournament. You had, you had the complete outing. But I'm glad you're feeling better. Man, I was telling Bill for the listeners that I am now under two of five, so I can go for the cruiserweight that lisen nearly fifteen pounds in one week being so sick. And the worst part is you didn't even know how you got it right. It's just just came on. Yeah, I was actually working and I started thinking, Man, I still don't feel well. Then it just went downhill from there for days. Terrible man. And then the worst part is when for everybody who's listen, you know, people were listening, and people who train and try to you know, you can't. You can't bottle that, you can't ignore it and move on. I'm sorry. One of those things you can touch through. Uh so no, So, yeah, you're dealing with the baseball thing. I was doing that. We're getting back together here, but we actually did get a last week. We gotta go back into the build um On Experience vault, and I got to share a conversation that I had heard that you had but and I enjoyed it, so I was excited about sharing it. We got the permission and we shared a old build um On episode where you spoke with Stevie Richards. So that was actually pretty cool. Yeah, I I and I've been trying to and and so everyone knows, uh. Stevie is a dear friend of mine and I love him dearly, and I know he's been going through a lot of health issues. So unfortunately, you know, when you you know, you have those buddies and the people that mean most of you, sometimes you lose touch. But you have their numbers, so you can shoot him a text message or you know, try to drop him a line. The number I had from for Michael is not the true number. So I'm learning and everything about you know, how he's been doing it and you know, his his really his rehabilitation and everything through Instagram. So I've reached out through Instagram. But to me, I think that's terrible when you have to reach out to someone that way, especially someone you know, but his contact is not the same. So, yeah, it was a great conversation. He's he to me, he's one of the most amazing people I know, um, out of you know, outside of wrestling. And I'm glad. I'm just glad he's feeling better and on the mend and he's getting back to doing what he does for this listening. It might not know he had something with his spine, right, Bill was like it and did an affection on a spine or something that. Yeah, and and basically risk paralysis. Yeah, I mean, and he's talked about dropping Wait in two oh five, I mean he lost I forget the number he says, over fifty pounds or something like that. And and this is well put together guy, he really spent. He's yeah, he's yeah, he's a machine. He's a training machine. His knowledge of training and the human anatomy and everything is is is really you know, second to none. And for him to get that unhealthy, not that you know anything he did, but get this infection that really knocked him down. And I know for a while there there was concerned if he was gonna make it. So just the fact that he's on the men then like you never know, man, So I guess what the My underlying thing is, Oh, don't text message people, man, reach out to them. Happen, just even if it's a two minute conversation. Hear their voice. Let people know you're thinking about you or you know you're thinking about them, and just just wishing well, even if you don't have the time to really catch up, catch up. Just reach out because then it's terrible when you see these things. You go, Man, the guilt of just not taking two minutes out of a busy day to call someone. It's really it's tragic, you know, when when there's not an opportunity ever again to do that. So he's on the mend. I know he's listening to this, or one of his Stevie cronies is listening. So please let him know we're we're thinking of him, we love him, we're talking. Don't tell him we're saying nice things. You just tell him we're talking about Sometimes I say, I'll show you. You'll see. And my daughters have no idea what I'm talking about. But I know though, and it makes me laugh inside. So no, I agree. Man, he's awesome. I thought that conversation was cool. And that's what we're going to try to do, is we because life will have its moments, we will have holidays coming up and stuff, and it's cool to know that we can kind of dip back into that and kind of bring that stuff to life. I did kind of, and I did run it. The quality improved. I ran it through some software and stuff and kind of bringing that to life again. From seven years ago. Really it's at Yeah and the conversation you had a really evergreen content. I know that you have some out there with Vince Russo and stuff, and as we get through the experience here, we'll share those as we need to. But I thought it was cool Bill that we could resurrect that content and present it to this audience, because I'm sure there's an it's new audience, like everybody listened to that back then, so or vice versa. I did try to go through. You had a lot of comments on there. I tried to reply, hey, we're back, We're back. Yeah, a lot of positive comments on those old episode, so yeah, keep trying to get people back to experience. Yeah. I really enjoyed it when that was do you like the initial kickoff of you know, the build them out experience? And I got to speak to some really great people across with not just wrestling, just some really great interviews and conversations. So I really look forward to everybody getting a chance to catch up to them because a lot of them you're still relevant, you know. It's it's a really it's really cool the people you get to meet when you do something like this. And so when we can bring that, to bring that to the forefront, and and thank you for that because you're you know, you're the man behind the behind the machine that's making it all work. And for you to resurrect those and and you know, update them the way you do and and make them, uh, you know relevant to what we're doing now is really cool. So thank you for doing that. And I hope everybody enjoys that and they keep they keep tuning in because we're I'm telling you, man, we're on the we're on the here's my word for the week run the precipice of something really cool with this podcast and this journey. So, uh, good job, Jeff. Always thank you. I appreciate it. It's crazy to thank Bill and you talk about the first Build them On experience and I've probably launched about twenty five thirty maybe more in that podcast, been a part of way Moore, but personally just like on my own, and it's you really when you get a couple of months into it, you start to hit this stumbling block. You're real vulnerable like you kind of had with the first experience. Yeah, I kind of hit this point in time when you get going and you get and you kind of have that pod fade for whatever reason and it kind of goes away. We're actually four months into this now. Man, it's kind of crazy to think about that we've been able to do this and put out some good content. I've got the YouTube page. I've got a lot of stuff uploaded there today, a lot of Bill Goldberg stuff. I'm getting caught up there. That's a whole other animal to tackle, but I'm glad that I could do that. Yeah, you're doing it. You're doing awesome. This is I can't. And we talked about it when it was three months. In fact, that we're doing this four months doesn't even seem like it. But I think we want to roll. We're building some really good momentum and I'm excited. And as long as we keep Vince's Mustache with us, we're gonna be all right. He did, Vince's Mustache did reach out. Actually, I'm really excited about this particular question because I didn't even vet it to see if it's true. Oh God, but I will let you do that. When we bring it up later, you will certainly know if it's true or false. But it was about a historical match of yours. Nevertheless, Bill aside from the foundation, what you have going this week, I do want to mention you have the Wrestling Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in Waterloo, Iowa coming up in July. I'm thinking about getting a ticket there man and meeting you. I'm really antiking about taking a couple days off and it's only about a five hour drive for me. Oh is that right? So I think it might be something that I do uh to to actually meet you and get to meet a few other individuals that I've Wow, you know, I've talked to Conrad Thompson quite a bit. It'd be cool to meet him. Maybe I'm lucky enough JBL to bully me, big JBL fan. It's an amazing the one that would be so awesome to see you there. Uh during that week. Um, we're to the family because my wife is from Des Moines, Iowa, and you know, Waterloos just a couple couple hours away. UM, so we're we're actually all packing it in together the family and taking that ride. Um. But just a group of the men that I'm grouped with this year. And I say men because I don't believe there's any women in this class. I'm if I remember correctly. I don't know. I don't. I don't call it any either. Yeah, but to be in the company of I mean, I've been up and down the road with Haku less Thatcher and I have a great relationship. Less Thatcher wrote the forward to my first book, I I I'd so admire and appreciate less Thatcher. But then Conrad Thompson is there, and Joe Malinko will be there receiving the award on behalf of you know, on behalf of his dad. And it just to just to think that, you know, I've never done anything to I'm trying to figure out how to say it so I don't sound corny. I've never gotten this business to achieve anything. I was a fan of the business and I was a fan of the people in it, and that's what drew me to it got me involved. I was fortunate enough to make a living. But the fact that someone like Jerry Briscoe and that committee of the that Hall of Fame would even consider my name for something like this, and you know, it doesn't fall short of me. That it's the Louth as a ward, and so it's just it's just an amazing time. It's you know, July twentieth through the twenty second. I think of the dates, speaking to some of the some of the people that put it together from the hall, they get me more and more excited every week. They touch base to see how I'm doing. And you know, it's kind of weird to see, you know, you've done this for thirty years. People in wrestling, you think have heard of you, you know, or somewhere across the line. They may have heard your name or seeing something to do, but they truly know everything that I've done and what I continue to do. And that's the special fart for me. And that's what makes this this crazy, you know, brotherhood of wrestling worthwhile at the end of the day. So I'm really excited. I appreciate you talking about it again. But I'm gonna sit there with Ming, and I say Ming one time, Hopku and other. You know, it's all these conga and networks, but but to sit around with those men and and to talk about just life and to catch up with everybody, that's what it's all about. And now we get to meet the fans, and I know there's meet and greets and there there's gonna be some cool round tables that I'm a part of and and I think it's cool. So I get to suit mister Briscoe, and I know John jbl will be there, and just a plethora of people that are gonna be there. So it's exciting, man, And uh I am. I'm completely honored and humbled by it. So I'm really as it gets closer, I'm like that, you know, it's like behind the Kurt before your music kids. I feel really good about it until I get there, and then I'm gonna be like a nervous little girl and be like, oh, yes, sir, I know, thank you, sir, because it's it's it's all about respect to me. So it's really cool, man. I'm I'm excited to do that. Well, I might have to tag along and be an honorary Dumont for a day. Brother. If you're there, you're in. I'm so excited to think that you that you're even thinking about taking the trip. That'd be awesome and I look forward to it. And yeah, I hope that happens. Man. We'd have a good time. Besides Billy Billy Billy growing up. As I saw in the background there, Billy's getting older. You've been busy with his stuff. What do you have going on with the foundation. So I'm I'm headed out and working with some some good families. I'm actually back in school, um taking a course, a seven week course. Um Lacy, my wife has joined me. Um. It's it's uh, it's a more behind the scenes look at nonprofits and growing it and and you know, heading in the right direction and for grants and opportunities to grow and further our reach. So that's taken up a lot of time because let's be honest, I'm not a book guy. It's been a long time since I've had to use a pen and and do these things, you know, the school work. Uh, if hold on, watch this. I'm gonna pull it. I know. I don't know if a lot of people are gonna be able to see it, but you'll hear it. This is this is the book, and it's like the Webster's Dictionary of It's a big book. Yeah. So I spend a you know, I spend four or five hours a day now with this class. But so it's to build the foundation, get our reach it and to hopefully make me more knowledgeable about leading us into a clearer direction and the broader reach and then I'm headed to New Jersey this uh, this weekend, I leave for Georgia. I have an appearance forum Hope Wrestling in Milnar, Georgia, So i have a seminar and then I'm gonna have a chance for meet and greet, and then I'm gonna give my testimony to the church while i'm there, Okay, and then I'm gonna get back in the truck and head up the road about fourteen hours to New Jersey to my my high school where I grew up and the time I'm from. And their prom is next week, so I'm gonna get to speak to them before prom weekend. So it's it's a it's a good time. It's a busy time, a lot of trial and a lot of things to do, but the foundation strong and excuse me. And in between, a little Billy is gearing up for Nashville, so he keeps he keeps me, he keeps me focused on that as well. So it's a it's a busy time, very little though. He so today was his physical um. They you know, they have to go as they're now going to be freshmen in high school, which my wife still doesn't put a grasp on yet she doesn't want to admit that. But he did his physicals, so he's six one one seventy was height and weight and a size twelve and a half. Shoot, wow, So I might have to take him to Iowa with me just so he can find enough to eat, because he's he's a he's a machine. But I got to brag on him, just like I brag on my daughters, like I have. All three of my kids graduated with honors, and they've all been four point zero students, and he falls right behind his sisters. And he finished his middle school years with a four point h throughout all three years. And that's that's the tool that let's him play ball because he he knows what comes first, and you know, so at school and and church and family and then ball, so he knows it. He's focused and it keeps me focused because he kind of puts me in my place one night drift. So it's it's, you know, here at the mansion, things are, things are. Life is busy like everywhere else, but it's always always interesting. Yep. I'm in the talks of starting yet another podcast. I'm still debating it. If you Bill, I'm a huge US history buff okay, and the concept would be like a US history for dummies. I think that would be actually pretty fun. I have a couple of friends and I were talking about that. I'm all for it. As long as I'm not doing all the work right, right, I'll just show up then I'm good, you know. But you're a glutton for punishment. I am, I know, but I think I know better. You say, if you could just show up. But I feel like, in the amount of time we've been together, work together, you'll you do that for so long before you get all in and dive ball in and take over the Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. They've been wanting to get into podcasting, so I feel like, ah, show them along the way too, and have fun while doing it. Maybe it's all about time management, man, And that's something that I've really got better out over the years. But that's nothing that everybody should continue to get better at. That's time management is so challenging, but if done right, you can get more and more done. And yeah, I'm thankful to be able to. I mean, I dedicate a lot of long hours at night to it, but I'm thankful to be able to, you know, do some time management. Those are things you learn as you go through life. So yeah, thankful man. As always spoiler alert, build and not watch Night of Champions. Will just throw it out there, and I know a lot of you were wondering what he thought about it. We'll walk through some things briefly and see what he thinks about why happened it was Bill. I'll say one thing before we get into that. I'm coming off of a pretty big high after those last couple of pay per views wwue clear back to Really for me, Survivor series has put out good pay per views, the best run they've had in several years. They streamed together several good ones Rumble, I mean even fast Land Backlash that obviously Mania, but Backlash, they were all good. Yeah, And for me, this one was not quite at that level. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later because, like I said, they were putting together a surprisingly good amount of them in a rogue there has I'm signed really like a I'm negative saying that, but do you get what I'm saying? It was an unusual streak of extraordinary pay per views in my opinion, Yeah, no, no, I totally understand that. So let me ask you. Let me pose this question to you and everyone else. Do you think that this pay per view was less than because if I'm not mistaken, this is a bought show, right the SOUD each shows are always a bought show, so it's kind of already in the bag. So do you think they treated I don't want to say they treat it like it doesn't matter. But do you think it's less driven? Storyline driven in things like that. I know the matches were in line with some of the stories, but do you think there's I don't want to say effort because that's the wrong word. I don't know what the word is I'm looking for. I just feel like sometimes when it's a bought show, it's okay, we have to this show and then we'll go back to focusing on what we do. So I agree with you and what I have seen and read and heard about the pay per view, but I always look at it from the business side of being on the road is that maybe there was less enthusiasm in it, you know what I mean? It was different because historically these shows in Saudi Arabia, like you're calling them bought shows, they do tend to bring in and pay extra for some superstars. Yeah, but this was the first one and really I could remember, and the last one was a little bit less too, but yeah, Logan, Paul there, etc. Yeah, this one was a little bit less that even it seemed like to me it was just normal pay per view, not necessarily a good pay per view, but it was just it seemed like, for once, it was literally just another stop in the tour and not necessarily some extravagant event, even though the visuals they're are extravagant, right, you see their arena, the I mean, the presentations always great, doesn't matter where WW is. But I'd answer your question, it was more just like a normal pay per view. Man, it's they didn't pull out all the stops at this time though Bill Goldberg no undertaker, obviously they didn't. They didn't have that factor like we first saw and they went into Saudi Arabia. It was just there were a few things that didn't really fit, but really everything else was story based, just kind of watered down in my opinion. Yeah, yeah, we'll go ahead and cover some of it. The only and I want to say legend or big name that they did bring was Trish right because she's part of the roster right now. So I think Trish was the only rock Brock. Yeah, yeah, well, I consider Brock's still a main state even though you know he comes and goes. But Trish had been gone for so long to have her come back there, you know, to go there. I think that's why I say I would consider her probably the biggest, yeah, outside the roster. You know, we'll deep dive into that because somebody actually asked a question about tris Stratus as well and what reports were saying online. But let's kick it off with the first match, aj Style seth Rawlins for the new title. H man, I'm thrilled, my opinion, a couple of the best wrestlers in the world here. Try to think of what's the name of this title, the raw World heavyweight title. Is that what it is? World Heavyweight, World heavy Yeah, it's it's not like the normal phasing. I'm not going to go down to clear in big detail because you didn't see it. But they had a pretty decent match. They went back and forwards and exchange finishing moves. Even Styles had a pedigree which I thought was pretty cool. Rawlins was on this knee injury. He couldn't quite get the curve stomp in because his knee buckled out. Does eventually get this, will get this win And then Triple H actually comes out and presents Rollins with the title. It's always cool seeing Triple H. And there's a lot I don't remember all the details of Bill, but there's a lot of different historical aspects to this title. They've tried to incorporate a lot of different things from a lot of previous titles into it. I don't know all the details, but I'm not the biggest fan of throwing a new title in the mix, but they're trying to make it of historical significance. And I mean, no surprise. You're not going to go with Cody Rhodes. Seems like he's going to go the hard times route, really had to earn his way back up to the top, which is fine. Then Seth Rollins seems to be the suitor in the meantime, which for he is kind of mister Monday Night the last decade going on now, man, Yeah, and I don't think you know. To me, it wasn't a surprise. I felt like going into it. Even the casual wrestling fan who follows the product knows that it was gonna be Seth, and it doesn't take away from like you said, two of the best talents that are out there right now and that it have been around for a long long time. But the title had to go to Raw and so you knew. I feel like you knew Seth was gonna get it. That leads me into another rabbit hole that I won't even start yet because I'm pretty sure we're gonna get to it. But I think it wasn't a big surprise. I think it was a good match for people to see. As far as the wrestling conflict, I thought it was good. I will say this and I've said it before and I'm sure i'll continue to say it. You could have missed the whole pay per view and saw the packages they ran, and the packages are sometimes better than the matches. So that's why I feel like I didn't miss the Night of Champions. But the package brought me right back into you know, at least caught me up into how the Wise and the Who's but two great guys. I'm not a fan of the this title thing, and I know we'll talk about it, but um again, the people were happy. I mean, yeah, he's mister Monday Night rawlins. Now. You know it was a good way to start off the night. It's gonna be a good match. You know that. It wasn't a five star match, and I think a lot of that, to me was lack of a soul, lack of story. We're going for this new title, that was really it and going down a little bit of rabbit hole here, suspend belief and just forget about the draft, right because aj Styles was not on that brand for that title even However, we'll get to the however in a bit. Yeah, and you can when it, feel free to get to the hellever whenever you want to. I'm okay, I'll get to however right now. I was excited. The one thing I was excited for on Monday Night was to see how they brought out their new World heavyweight champion represented on raw. I'm not sure I liked the coming through the fans like the old Shield entrance. I think there was a throwback. I think they were trying to, hey, this is the way he started when he came up kind of thing. Maybe it's a new start for Seth, but forget all the pomp and circumstance that people were there, of the song, all that stuff out comes aj Styles, who's on SmackDown, right who? Then they congratulate each other and what a war we had and this was great, and hey, I respect you and you respect me. Congratulations interruption all the forget everything else downline, because that's another twenty minutes. All of a sudden, they the world Heavyweight Champion on Raw is now tagging with a cat from Smack Them. So your your champion is now represented in a tag match when somebody's never tagged with going against two other guys in a tag team match. But this was supposed to be the separation between Roman Reigns and the other heavyweight championship. And I don't I don't get it. I think I think the ball has been dropped and it's slaying flat somewhere in a jumpyard. I don't terrible analogy. I'm just I'm not once I saw it what happened Monday night, I'm totally disconnected. They're really trying to force this title in there, and I get it. You don't have a way to get the title off range right now. I get it. But to me, you've got this Intercontinal Championship. Gunther's done a hell of a job legitimizing it over the last year. So to me, it's it's I'd like to see. I would like to see what they already have floating around out there. And I get what titles are on wat Shore or whatever, but they do have secondary titles they could try to elevate, and particularly when you have an individual like him, I think that's a missed opportunity for him as well. And the other side of it, and you know, going to Monday Night, they did more to promote Roman Rains thousand days then they need to promote your own brain champion. So it's almost like we got you guys again. You know. It's it's that it's that thing of I made you look. Yeah, it's like they're not gonna be able to relive the magic when they did it the first time. It wasn't great by any means, but it was done pretty damn well. Actually smacked down was better than you had then Undertaker Curt Angle. But I don't think they're gonna get that magic back, and they're really gonna try. I get it, two separate shows, two separate networks, But to me, it's just it's gonna be very difficult with with the roster that they have. But I do think sometimes they sell themselves short. And like I just said, Gunther, you might worry and try to work on things like that for a while. But you know, I don't know what the financial aspect of it is with the network and all that, what they're trying to accomplish. But to me, you have the talent there, you could probably do a little bit more with it. Yeah, I just take take nothing away from Seth. It's not a knock on a j to see him on Raw. It's it's just they build this thing up. Here's the big announcement that Triple H came out so many weeks ago, and this is what we're doing. And the three lions represent the three generations of McMahons, and this part of the belt represents the first title. It was ever you know, all these things and it means nothing. And the first time he's back on TV from Knight of champions he's in the tag match and the championship means nothing. Why why what's going to make me believe that it's ever gonna? You know? And this was the going off and you know I'm a big fan, and you and I talked about it because I know you're a fan, and we listened to Busting Open, and we listened to a lot of these guys, and then Bully Ray says something that, really, you know, you forget the things they talk about. Well, this is going to be a fighting champion, and this is gonna be all these things. But we didn't see Seth fight. We didn't see Seth rustle. We saw him in a tag team match, right. We saw him in something that didn't need to happen. Instead of putting that creative energy to make Seth matter, it's just another match. Now. I know that people can say, listen, there was a long trip back from Jetta and all these things, and maybe there were injuries only, but you have nothing better for your world champion to make this thing mean more. There should have been. I know they gritted out for months. So I just think it was a terrible way to introduce him, and it takes nothing away from Night of Champions. There's a good match, there's a wrestling. To your point, it was it was a it was a wrestling pay per view. There was some great wrestling in there, but the follow up to me really hurt it more than anything else. But we've talked about how AJ styles set the bar and somebody that comes in that's not part of the main WWE way comes in from the independent scene and really holds his own. He kind of set the bar for a lot of other people we've seen come in, and I think he's one of the best ever. But it's like, to your point, it just doesn't fit in what's going on, and I really feel like it didn't. It didn't elevate AJ either, because it just made him a guy to come in and do the match with, you know. And again, it's not a knock. It's not about the talent, it's not about what they do in the ring. It's just about this this storyline or trying to keep people invested in it. And then some people say, well, who cares, It's just it's entertainment. Now, No, because you're you're trying. It's the longest running, you know, episodic television show in the history of cable. But now it's just I don't have to see it all the time. And that's why I feel like Night of Champions if I thought it was something like backlash when they were in Puerto Rico and all these things. Nothing drew me to Night of Champions and then to further it, nothing after Monday Night drew me to looking forward to what's coming. Nothing. I can't argue that. And it's not a knock. And again, it's not a knock on the talent. It's not a knock on the individual characters. It's just I want to watch to be entertained and enjoy it, and I and when I'm when I'm not me personally, that's what makes my wrestling brain start to work and say, why why has this happen? Why is it this way? Because ninety eight percent of the time I'm just watching because it's good stuff and wow, they really hooked me and you and I've thought about it, I say, all the time, I'm sitting on the edge of the edge of the sofa watching this thing, and you know, Bob and Weaven with the man Alla stuff, and it's just I just feel like that momentum is gone again. Yep. Like I said, it was a first pay per view in a while that just kind of fell off the edge kind of will try not to crap on a w too much, but it's hard to get invested the matches maybe incredible. The storylines don't always get you to that point where you're, you know, necessarily invested. You literally just have to a lot of times with able You just literally have to be an aw fan. Yeah. Probably not casual. You just literally have to want to see the matches and see that as is. And I wasn't invested in many storylines in this one and unfortunately too great characters, but not interested in my heart. Yep, all, let's go to the next match bill. We talked about tris Stradis. I've enjoyed seeing her around, really trying to get into the storyline. This is another one I'm not able to get into really well. I do like seeing Becky Lynch, and I do like seeing tris Stradas. Tris Stradas had this outfit. I don't know if you saw it, the thank you Trish on her back, like trying to get the crowd, Yeah, yeah, trying to get the crowd to cheer like thank you trishan and she's a hill and all that. I'm sure you saw the premiere of What Happened here and the person that came in it was the what's her name? Sorry, I'm drawn a blank here Zoe Stark exactly, yep, came in helped her get the win. Look like she actually broke Becky Lynch's nose. That's that's that's the reports was there's another one of Becky in the nose again. Yeah, it was an okay match. Some good back and forest. You know, Tris Stradis and Becky Lynch are both pretty good at playing this. Man. I like Becky Lynch as a hill. I'm not gonna lie. Uh, it's just Mike my preference. It's probably not for everybody, but Tris Stradis is obviously a good hill too, and reports. You know, we'll get into this later, but sounds like she's in it for the long haul. And uh, I'm kind of surprised to see you're sticking it out this long, but it's good to see her. It was a it was an okay match. Did you get to see any clips from it all? There were a couple of good moments. Yeah, I saw I saw that. I saw the clips from it, and again, I really feel like that's where WWE really excels. The clips tell a better story sometimes than than the than the whole match. I'm with you. A fan of both women not invested in it. It's it's one of those things. And I feel like Zoey Starts is now gonna muddy those waters if because I don't know if Zoe Starts gonna allow to be herself or she's gonna be just crony, you know, like Trish is gonna show her the way. I get that vibe, So I'm not I'm not sure I'm really invested in any of this right now. I'm trying to find the story that I actually had pulled up on Trish Stratus. But the gist of the story is essentially that it's not necessarily going to be that Zoe Stark's gonna hold down the fort because Trish will be available here and there. Apparently she's pretty much so all the way in with it, So it's not like the case necessarily that Zoe Stark like as a substitute to keep the story going. That makes sense. Trish apparently will be around, Yeah, it makes sense. And then to me, it's like a huge Becky Lynch fan, is this going to be another reincarnation of the man? You know what I mean? It's it's it's almost starting over now with two different people. That big thing with Becky Lynch. I like Becky Lynch's a hill or I like Becky Lynch's the underdog having to defeat somebody that is like not even David Firth Goliath sort of thing, but somebody that's gonna be like a really big challenge for her. And right now it's not a knock on Tristratis. But I don't look at tris Ter Ashton's like, man, I hope Becky. I don't think Becky Lynch can do it. I think those are the two scenarios where I prefer Becky Lynch because I feel like when she's a heel, it's a natural flow for her. Everything's just comes naturally. It's just's she appears more comfortable timing everything, promos, everything is just so much just so much more believable, like you get into it and go yeah. So it'll be interesting to see where they go. It'll be interesting for me to see what happens with Zoe Stark and a lot of people high on her coming out of NXT, and you wonder if you're gonna get that same character and that same woman in WWE. So again, I'm not sure when she's grouped in like that already. If it's gonna elevate her or not, I guess we'll have to wait and see. But again, two, it's not a knock on any of the three women as their talent. Again huge Trish Finn No Trish A long long time, a huge Becky Lynch fan. I just not invested in it. Not so we you know, we're going two matches back to back where it's it's good stuff for the night. I don't know where it goes forward, you know. Yep, Trish definitely the number two heel and the women's division on rall. Yeah, obviously we're ripley, but she's definitely number two though. Excuse yeah, yeah, excuse me, yeah, Okay, hold on. So the next match, Bill, I actually I was actually kind of impressed with how well it went. Again, not really into it. It was Gunther and all Lee must have fall Lee for the Intercontinal Championship. There were some good moments. I'll tell you one thing. All the candy you can sell his ass off, yeah and uh yeah, and Gunther does too. So it's kind of like sometimes it's weird seeing Gunther face somebody smaller because he's actually so damn good at selling you know all, he definitely got his moments in front of Saudi Arabia. I even know he's from Chicago. I don't know his whole heritage, but uh there it could be. I honestly don't know. I'm not trying to be rude. But yeah, it was a good match. I thought it was simple. You know, Gunther got the win. He did a power bond that would make build Aimant proud for the win always. But for me, it's really weird watching him face little people because he's just so good at having matches. It's like he doesn't have that complete I'm going he doesn't have like the brock lessner, I'm going to dominate you sort of match like he's always you know what I mean. Yeah, he's a worker, He's a he's a oh got complete worker. He can work that any style. Um I. But still again, I don't know if this match helped Ali. I don't think it hurt Gunther to your point, I think it was a good match for where they were. Probably the best Moustaf Ali's looked, yeah, in recent memory. But again, there's no like if you if you didn't know, you know, if you've been following it, there's nothing to really grab you. I don't think anybody thought for for one second that mustaf Ali was gonna beat Gunther. But to your point, it was good. You know, it's I think it's always good to see what guys can do. I'm just not sure pay per viewser reported by Gunther, you know what I mean. He comes out with her and Shamis and does all these other incredible matches and and and then he's on Then he's on the self for and it's not a knock, but he's on the self for guy who's a mid card guy. So it's, uh, it's a good match. I think it went over well there. So for me, love his droptick that he does. Bill. I think everything he does is great. Yeah. That push him back in the corner, that's just epic. He's to me, he's a he man handles people. He's a man's man. He works that way, he comes off that way. I think, like I would like to see, like going back to like I said, though, Bill, like this is a guy that you can start to form, rawl around with a seth rawlins and stuff like that. This guy is that he's that good. This this has to be the year of Gunther somehow, I would imagine it's got to end it. But WrestleMania with this guy having a title, So what So explain to me, let's let's fast forward to Monday night from Night of Champions. Explain to me why we need to see him coming out in the middle of imperium. You probably don't. We've talked about that. I think you don't. He doesn't need to do that. Now, when are they gonna How long are they gonna wait before they pull the trigger on this cat, Because to me, he's proven himself at WrestleMania. He proved himself. Royal Rumbilly proved himself, and Royal Rumbley proved himself. And it's just one of those things. I hate to see it, but it's almost that old school mentality. What we know where we got with him, and so when we're ready to do something, we'll do it. But in the meantime, we're gonna do this. He's not to me, he's not a filler. He's not a third wheel. He's not a filler. He's not Hey, let's just put him out there to get and scene. To me, he's it should be. He should be running with Seth. He should be running with Seth on raw and they should be tearing every arena apart and just having bangers the whole time. Then I'm invested. It's got to happen. Sooner or later. It's got I mean, wait a minute, we think it's got to happen. We know it should happen, but maybe there'll be another draft before it. Yeah. Maybe. Okay, Bill, let's go to the next one. This is the one that you and I have talked about. We've talked about these two individuals for ever since we started doing this podcast. Oscar Bianca bell Air. There was a title change. Man, you and I have been in this deep discussion of what are they doing with Oscar or it just kind of seemed like, hey, Oscar is going to be in this match, because she can have a match with anybody. But they did read Brander in the last couple of months of Bringer Back and the Alca bell Air after a year now dropped the title to Oscar. So, Bill, we've gone back and forwards on this Oscar thing a lot. What did you think about this decision and what creative direction do you see going here? Okay, biggest biggest softball I can throw out there, what brand does Oscar belong to? SmackDown? Uh? Yeah, okay, okay, she just doesn't want to Sackdown. Now the SmackDown Women's champion. No, I'm sorry, the SmackDown star is the Raw Women's champion on SmackDown. So now we have rear Ripley the SmackDown Women's Champion on Raw and Oscar the Raw Women's champion on SmackDown. The second biggest question for me is why wouldn't they do that on a home base pay per view event. For people that have been following this, you know, I don't really think there was a great big build up to this rivalry. Again, No, but they they've been having matches in Yeah, they've been having matches. It hasn't been really to me a threatening thing of like I'm gonna take your your you know, your title. I just at the end of it, yougo, well, I'm an Oscar fan, I'm a Bianca bell Air fan. Good for why why did we wait till then? Or why didn't we wait till the next one or build it up more? And then why is the Raw women's champion on smack I'm sorry to lose track of who's on WAT wears a lot. I'm not gonna lie, and that's the problem, and that's kind of my dilemma on the whole thing, is how can I be invested in this Triple H comes out weeks ago. Here's the biggest announcement we're gonna make after the first big announcement was we're doing the draft. Yeah, Roman Reigns is the only one. They said this. By the way that I can recall, Roman Reigns is strictly never leaving SmackDown. Once you're drafted, that's where you belong. And ever since they had the draft Smackdowns on Rolls on SmackDown, you have two champions stre on two different brands, and I just after a while it's like, just tell me it doesn't matter and I'll look at it that way. Otherwise you're insulting my wrestling IQ with this, because at a point you've got to start asking yourself, why can I make sense of what they're doing? Yeah, and earlier actually stumbled because I had a double think. If Maria Ripley was on rale right, she's obviously the number one el on Rales ahead try stratas a second. Then I had to think, what a right? What I'm saying, Yeah, it's right, and it's it's getting hard to keep track of. And the problem is, even if I want to suspend belief, like I'm still having a really freaking hard time remembering what who has Watch Championship? Right, even if I'm just supposed to say I don't care who wrestles on watch show, I'm starting to lose track of who has Watch Championship. Put it that away because they're they're literally forcing us every week on both shows Monday and Friday. They're literally forcing us to be reminded there was a draft and going against the draft. So it's it's like I said, saying go ahead. A lot of reports, a lot of people debating does Bianca Bell turn heel? I personally think she'd be a better heel because some of her promos in the in the recent past have been very like, oh no, you didn't she had that sas to her, that kind of uh yeah what what Sasha Banks, She's called that ratchet mentality. You know. I think she can get the smile off her face, oh heck yeah, but I think it becomes a different smile. I think her smile becomes a smirk, and I feel that as a as a heel, I feel like Bianca would be more comfortable in her own skin because then she can pick and ship if it if it was me right, if it's one of those things. And again, in my opinion, I would pick and choose when I want to come out, you know, vibrate and swing in my air. I'm gonna pick and choose and not give it to you that night. I feel like Bianca is a natural heel and she wouldn't have to change anything but that expression on her face. And I think if that smile became a smirk, people be gone. It's interesting you say that because a lot of people are questioned if she could do that or not, and you're saying you naturally see it. For me personally, I see her as a very comfortable heel. That's my point though. I wanted to bring it up because that's how the only way I don't want to sit the only way. That's the way I see this what just happened working. Yeah, I mean as far as taking taking the title off her, yeah, I don't think it. I don't know how it's gonna help Osca, but I think this is definitely gonna move Bianca forward because I feel like she's been stale. You know, it's kind of the same great matches athletic. You can't take anything away from her. But I just you look at her and you go, man, if I if I could just see her be that that girl, you know. So I feel like and I'm probably and you said, I'm probably in the the minority with this, but I think she's gonna be a natural heel And if she just turns that smile to a smirk, I think she's she's in for another great run. As far as Oscar, I just I just have a problem with I don't have a problem with Oska. I have a problem with her being raw women's champion and beat on smack them. Yeah, I agree. I just think the way it's gonna work out as she's just gonna beat the crap out of Oscar in a very vicious fashion. Maybe Oscar is really hard for me to be like heel because the way Oscar worked as a heel to me is because they had her as this machine, yes, undefeated, streak beyond Bill Goldberg, whatever. Now that you've taken that away, it's really hard for me to see Oscar as a heel and job because it culturally speaking as well, and that's not her fault. It's just what she brings the table with the skill set and all that. I think they'd benefit the storyline definitely from Bianca at least at ten to see what they can do with it. And and do you feel like watching Oscar it goes back to that comfort zone. She doesn't look comfortable to me, Like, I don't want to say she's going through the motions because she's a she's a hell of a talent. She's almost that good. It looks like it. Yeah, it's just it's just I feel like she's going through like, Okay, this is what this is, the cards that dealt me. I'm gonna do this. But some people are just naturally geared to work a certain way and be that person. And then stone cold baby Facer Heel. He was the same guy. Yeah right, And that's why I always say I'm not a big fan of people putting themselves in a in a column of baby Facer Heel. Be you let the people decide, you know. Rick Flair was a heel in some territories and a baby facing others, But he was Rick flair all the time. So I feel like Oscar is just I don't want to say, going through the motions. I don't feel like she's she to me, I don't feel like she's coming across come comfortable and what she's doing. She's very good at what she does, but I just don't see that comfort zone. Going back to the Becky. Like we were saying about Becky, there's a there's a there's a comfort zone and what you're doing and sometimes when you just Okay, this is what I got and this is what I'm gonna do and I'll make the best of it, but it'll be in I think there's big things on the horizon for Bianca. I hope there's big things for Oscar. But to me, people are always gonna question why is she the Royal Women's Champion on Smacker and know you're gonna end it with that, Hey, I'm with you. I think the big thing for Oscar is actually what she's doing by giving back and trying to work with a Bianca bill air and all that without the being the machine Oscar. I'm just not sold on the villain Oscar. So I'm hoping that's the flip here let's talk about the next women's match. Actually surprised they had another women's match right after this with Ria Ripple and Ria Ripley and Natalia. Was about a one minute match, just a just a good old fashioned, uh squash match. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why they added exactly. I'm still a little confused about it could Pride down without it. It was it just to get Rha Ripley there, because it certainly didn't do much. It's probably without knowing, I'd probably say it's it's probably making sure the women are represented enough on the on the card. But I'm gonna go back to to your point. It was it was it was so quick. It wasn't The entrances and everything were longer than the match and all this other I saw Natty makeup post on social media today saying, you know, replying to Rhea saying she just and Natty's saying, yeah, you just were better than me. I just didn't happen. I feel like Natty's a Hall of Famer, nadd He's been there a long time. And if you're gonna put Natalia on a pay per view, let it mean more than that. So did it did? So I'm going back to asking you the question, did it elevate Ria anymore? That match? And to your point that you asked me, so, I'm gonna ask the question back, did they really need to have that match at all? Unless it was specifically requested for Ria Ripley to make an appearance on that show. Only if it was only if that was the need. Yeah, I don't I'm not sure. It was a very strange. Yeah, they could. They could have given that minute, two minutes, three minute total segment to someone else. And yeah, I mean, Ria Ripley is awesome. It just didn't make any sense. But why was Nattie the challenger? I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. I'm gonna be honest. I'm gonna backtrack for a minute and really throw a wrench in this conversation. This is why I'm not involved in the booking and producing anymore. I would love to see oscar An Eo tag and become the women's tag team champions. Let those two women showcase what they do and out well they do it against others. That and that's just me being built for a minute. And now we'll go back on track, but I'm throwing it out there because I know you and you're gonna think about this and we're gonna have this conversation again in another episode. But I want you to think about that question the back of your head. If we're throwing all these things to the wind, why not make them the best and give them the best opportunities. But that being said, let's go down to Rabbit Holestins are on the topic, Ronda Rousey, you're talking about these tag team titles, right. Did you see the comment that she had that came out to the New York Posts. I believe it was discuss their future as champions. So we're talking they her and Shannon Basler with the tag team titles, right. She had this quote, Well, the lack of competition is really the problem. I mean, we want to be the most active champions out there. I want to be able to defend this title very every week and even twice a week on both Smack Don and or All. But with how shallow the women's division is right now, there's not enough women around to keep us busy for a month. And so that's the big biggest challenge that we have is to get in this company to actually care and invest in the tag division this company to actually care and invest in the Tag division. Do you like how I squeeze that into what you just said? Yeah, I'm I'm waiting for I'm waiting for something to fall out of the sky. The person whose time on either brand has been very limited and sporadic now feels that there's not enough competition to keep her busy for a month. Will that justify the other projects she has going on and why she's gonna be missing television and these opportunities or I don't know if you see the thin line of is it a work and she has to say these things? Or is this is how she feels? And I don't know, but I don't feel that she's been enough involved in the product enough to say them in a working way. So maybe that's how she feels that being said. Then proved to me you're better than what you are because I think she's a badass. Don't get me wrong, I just too yes, yes, And to me, the last year has shown her lack of skill. Last two years of really and they booked around it for a while, Bill and they did a damn good job. But it's caught up now. Man, She's just not in the upper she's not even the She's in the bottom half skill set wise of that division. And she's a badass, don't get me wrong, but her skill set, who she is and what she's accomplished, and the things she has done and does not questioning. But inside that squared circle, she's now partnered with another person who I've always been very high on, and she and a basler who's had zero to none opportunities of getting a decent run and showing who she is. So you've put the two together now, and that the one person who apparently is going to be the leader of this tag team is saying there's not enough competition for us. But who does she think she can hang with to make that to make that statement? And that's kind of like the casual fans feel this way? Or is that just you and I feel in this way? Like do you think casual fans are seeing this with Rando Alsie? Now? Well, how much longer can you can you keep saying she's the baddest woman on the planet. You're saying about brock Lesner. Brock Lesner proves it, Yeah, and he hangs and his skill set backs up everything he does. I'm not taking away from Ronda the Fighter. But I would much rather see her become Ronda the Fighter instead of trying to become right, instead of keep playing Ronda the pro wrestler. And for the time she's been with the company and you said it, they booked around it. It's been genius work. But how many more times can we listen to Mike Whole, Corey Graves and the rest of the group talk about she's the baddest woman on the planet, but then not back it up with the work. It hasn't It hasn't been like Ken shamrock Man. Doh no, it's it's it's a badass. Annie backed it up. Yeah, I don't see it, and I don't know. Yeah that's what and so it goes back. That's why I say, give me Oscar and EO Sky together and put them against Ronda, she and a Basler, and you're gonna have a banger, but you're gonna come out with a clear favorite of who your tag wins Tag Team Championship. Hey, I brought that up. I had that on the slate for later, but it's perfect timing with the way you segued to it, and I agree, the more of that tag team idea, You're thrown out there the more greatest sounds. I worry about Shanna Basler and how she comes out of all this. Yep. I feel like because Ronda's who she is and Shane's who she is, and let's be honest, Ronda Rowsy's a bigger name in an outside of wrestling, and Shane's Shana. So if this thing falls apart, SHANEA goes back to square one, shoots and ladders, Shanea goes down the slide, and Runda keeps climbing up the ladder. But how much longer can I listen to she's the baddest woman on the planet. Yeah, And that's that's the you know, that's the only thing that has been consistent is the commentary telling us who she is and what she's accomplished, not her in ring work. Let's move on to the next match here, Cudy Rhodes and Brock Lesner again. I don't know if you saw highlights of this. Basically it ends right with Lesner got the KMRA lock on several times, but they've been eventually got it on well and Cudy Rhodes passed out. They talked about this cast they called it titanium like seven times. I think I counted a titanium cast. Oh beat and brock Lesner over the heads the titanium cast and it didn't do much. But no, it was a match that it was gonna be hard to top what they did last time, yea, and it certainly didn't to me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It's not a five star match, you know, probably not a four star match if you're actually gonna use the rating system, right, it's all opinionated, of course, but it was not bad, but it wasn't great. And I just I'm trying to figure out what we're like, what's the goal here? Because I was confused, okay, because Cody Rhods beats him, right, he got one on him. What's the plan with Cody Rhods Because I'm off to thinking, okay, maybe we'll just tear him down and he has to come all the way back up, you know what I mean, he has to fight to get back up to the top. Tear him down all the way, right, But that hasn't That's not why happened. He he beat brockways their last month. He gets put to sleep by him this month. So I'm really trying to figure out, man, what the plan is here? I don't know. Yeah, And the scary part for me is when Cody made his return to the company WrestleMania, him and Seth would they have three matches? Yeah, and Cody got hurt. Yep, Cody got the sympathy back right. They told the story of him coming back and all these things. Whatever happens in WrestleMania, we feel like, oh man, this is great because they're really gonna make this build well. They introduced his new championship on Raw, brought turns on Cody. Now we have Cody hurt again going into the third match. Is this gonna be to your point? Hard times and all a sim but is everything gonna be the same blueprint? Is he always gonna be hurt and always coming back and again? If this was nineteen eighty five, nineteen eighty eight, the NWA, you know, Georgia Championship Wrestling, all these great things a WA back then, this would be working. But now it's like you've you greased the wheels so strong for Cody and Roman, I'm I'm afraid that no matter what they do creatively and how much they put the rocket to him. And Cody's mind is really well oiled in this stuff, you know, and he's very invested in what he's doing. But how much longer can you make people believe that there's going to be a payoff? And now Steth we didn't want to see Cody become the raw heavyweight champion, right Cody has faced and fought Roman Reigns. He's faced and he's fighting brock Lessner. Where do you? Where do you go from there? Like I said, I thought maybe he gets goes from his lowest point and builds his way up, but he's winning and losing, so it's kind of confusing. And I'm kind of like where I'm at with brock Lessner right now is and this happens when he stays around post WrestleMania. They're usually pretty smart about the way they book him and uses dates. But I think he could he could go off TV for a little bit and do his comeback like he does, unless they have something really planned with him. Him and Cody Rhods. I just don't get it. Well, that's my point. So let's say they're gonna have this and Cody said it right, I beat you. You beat me. Let's do it till we you know, this is the rubber match. It goes back to my point yet three match with Seth Rollins and then he was down. So let's say whatever. Let's say he gets the best of Brock in number three and then Brock does like you said, and that's I think that's what we're kind of used to doing. We like Brock in that role. He'll kind of go away for a little bit and come back. And but where's that leave Cody. Unless you're a diehard Cody Rhodes fan who believes that at the end of the rainbow there's a pot of gold with a championship belt in it, you're insulting people's they're wrestling intelligence is being insulted, and more importantly, you're not doing enough to make me believe that this is the guy. I agree. Like I said, they see either going to be at his lowest or not. So I'm confused. We'll see what happens, man, I don't know that. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. We're not We're supposed to be a genius booking if it comes around, and then next couple of weeks we go Holy out. But I thought they did a great job at MANI with Cody not becoming the undisputed champion. I really thought that was going to build. And before you know, a book, they just don't really want to wait for him. Yep. I agree. We'll see where it goes with it. I don't know if it's a part three. I'll watch it, but I'm not exactly invested in it right now. But they gotta they gotta make me invested in it. But then see, but now you're watching it, you're watching it almost to be proved wrong, or almost like daring them to make it make sense to where you're invested. I just don't think Cody Rhodes needs the obstacle of brock Lesner. If they're going to exchange wins, just let brock Lesner beat him up bad. Then eventually he gets one on him. I don't need to go around with it forever, but I will say one thing and we'll move on. How great is brock Lesner that he could continuously do these sort of things, had these matches put somebody over, never lose his the how authentic it is that he's so powerful and great. He just does this all the time. Man, he's he's put John Cena over He's squashed John Cena. He's squashed Roman Rains. He's putting Roman Rains over it. He is so good that he can do that. I think I just wanted to mention that for a minute, because that's what sticks out to me what I think of brock Lessner, Like how many people can go into these lose Every year he generally will lose a pretty big match after a build up, winning some he just keeps it going. Man. Yeah, he demands your attention, and he commands your attention. He's just really and I know he you know, on some interviews and stuff, he'll come and say, I really don't care about this and that, and I don't care about the Hall of Fame, and I don't care about all of these other things. It's about making money in this business, about making money. But I'll tell you what. He's freaking good at what he does. So I ever, yeah, he yes, Yes, that's it. He gets it, rock Lesner. One phrase, he gets it. He gets it, and he doesn't need all the other bs. He doesn't need pomp and circumstance. People thought he was done when when him and Aymon split up quite the opposite. Well, I told you he was on the first plane back home, first private jet back home after Wrestlermanny, that wasn't the case. That was great. Anyways, we'll move on. I wanted to give Brock the credit there. Let's move on to the main event though. And you know what it is. It is Sammy zaying Kevin Owens verse Roman Rains in solo for the Unified tag Team titles. This story's basically like, hey, you can't get the job done, husso's I'm going to show you how to do it, which I loved. Man I thought this was good. We come off of that last pay per view and I'm like, what the hell Matt Rill and YadA, YadA, YadA, didn't really make sense. Didn't care about it, But hey, they get me right back in into the storyline right here. And I said that I would eventually, eventually, this storyline's going to have to pull away from Kevin Owens and Sammy's in and the bloodline unless they're really creative. This was a pretty creative thing they did here. I didn't predict they go this direction. I liked it. I mean, after they start to set set the stage of it. I got it. So basically, man, the way this match goes, the Bloodline just starts to crumble. See John Usso jim Is he go by Jimmy, Jimmy Uso, Jimmy Jimmy Usso. And this is an odd twist of events, right, he eventually gets mad and super kicks your Roman reins here. But we've spent the last two years building up this tension with Jay right in Roman Rains, and I thought I was interesting to Jimmy's like, I'm doing what you should have done a long time ago, or he did, or he said I did what you should have done a long time ago. So the frustrations there. Yeah. So I mean I could walk out walk through this whole match, but it's not really necessary because the whole point of it was he caused them to lose huge crack in the bloodline storyline and the obviously Sam by Zann and Kevin Owens continue. I'll start out with this. I thought it added to the storyline. Well, I don't know where we're going to go next exactly, but that is a definite strike into the on a very negative for the bloodline that the other Usso who has had basically gone along with everything the whole time, because you got to think Jay had to get beaten into respect, right the other one. Do you know, Jimmy finally just said nah, he was done with it. So then you had this tension right where Jay Stick was his brother, his twin brother. Then you have another younger brother and you have Roman Rains. So, man, I thought, storyline wise, the Mats Mattress, Okay, yeah, these guys always Kevin, Kevin Owens, sam By Zanne are going to have a good match no matter what. Yeah, USO's Hall of Famers, They're gonna have a good match. They weren't. There had a supplement with a couple of guys, obviously Roman Rains. He just talk about another guy that just gets it. Man. He speared the referee, uh Riddy Charles as you call him, Dan englerd Evansville, Indiana representing YEA, and I believe he said something like, what is it with this guy? Roman Range? Just his body language, the commiss he makes, everything is perfect. Man. So this was a good match. But what do you think happens with the storyline now? I would I would love to see first, I agree, Sammy, let's go to Sammy and Kevin really quick. They're gonna have good matches. I would love to see them completely break away from the bloodline now, just completely. I think they covered it really well on Monday Night. Raw h. We want your going down. No matter what episoppens do you, Roman Raines, You're gonna know that we won perfect. I think that lets them go off on their own path now and do some things they want to do because they're gonna be very creative, very entertaining, and they can they can go. I think this builds up what everybody was waiting for this past WrestleMania is you're gonna see an awesome mowing paper game. You're gonna see the splits coming. You're gonna see because there's so many cousins out there yet that we don't even know about. Unless you're a true wrestling fan, you know there's a bunch of an now he's out there and there's a lot there's a lot of promise in this and oh god, not even to jump the gun. You're we're gonna see Jimmy and Jay, which I'm gonna say it again, brilliant, you said it. Roman has this way of saying things at the right time with emotions Jimmy and Jay. Now it's been Jay who's been the spokesman, and right you get the feeling and he's turned, he's he's twisted, he's conflicted, and then Jimmy comes out you we should have done this a long time. To me, that was brilliant. I think we see the pairing of the teams against each other. The Bloodline keeps falling apart, and then I see the younger brother solo going down the same road is Jimmy and Jay and Romans got to introduce someone or someone's gonna happen. But this Bloodline thing is money all for men or money Hayman is bonus money. And wherever they I almost want to say, like this, I don't care where they go. I'm invested. That's the one thing we haven't said about this whole pay per view. I'm invested in the Bloodline story. So they can take me on dips and turns and curves and all these things. But I would like to see Kevin and Sammy. It's always a great go to when you need a really big moment, but they can branch off and I really want to see this thing at night because we thought we saw the best of the blood Line when they all came together and they were doing I think the best is yet to come. And I'd like to see Jimmy and Jay stay away from dancing with all these other tag teams now. I'd like to see him focus on this storyline again because these guys are to me a red hot and their money. Yep. I don't know what Sammy, Zane and Kevin Owns could do. They got they got to be creative and figure that out. Obviously they be in I will think there was really one or two ways that's going to play out. They were either going to have this extreme fiction f action excume excuse me, yeah, and get the titles back the USOS then go up against the Solo and Roman for the titles or something. But at that point it would have been the end of the Bloodline once that was kind of over. But what's happened now is this storyline continues and we don't know the direction it's going to go. Because if you went that way, that was it. They were going to face each other for the titles, maybe that they being the USO's verse them for the title. One of them would win and that would be the end. That's not the case. So, yeah, you're right, maybe we get more characters introduced to this and this will continue on. So they did what they needed to do for the story. But man, let's see what they could do with Sammy Zane. Actually, Sammy Zane, he's so over right now. What direction can they go? Where will they go? Yeah? Obviously Kevin Owens will be along and he'll do a good job. But someone's gonna have to step up and face them. Man, I just don't know who right now. Yeah, and that wasn't I wasn't a fan of the the whole segment they had with the Imperium. Yeah, because the Gunther being in the middle. I do like because the Sammy and Kevin have this dynamic because they are close friends and buds for all this time. They have this good dynamic. I like the promo stuff and you know, they got the crowd chin Baldy and all this stuff. They're gonna be really good at getting people invested in what they do. I just don't want to see everything they do be comedy because then it's like there was so much build up with Sammy. Kevin to me is always stays hot when he comes in and so I just hate to see that momentum just turn into a gimmick, if that makes sense, you know. So I really hope that it stays creative with them. I don't know the sixth Man thing with Riddle, why that's a thing, but whatever. I don't know if it's going to continue to be a thing, but I know they mentioned his name a couple of times in the segments. Um, but I truly hope they, like you said, being creative, really really focuses on what they can do with Sammy and Kevin to elevate another team and to keep these these championships meaning something. But the Bloodline thing doesn't need championships, doesn't need anything. This story's gold. Let's knock out. So that was that event. Well, I'm curious to see when Uncle Dave's ratings come out on Friday. Yeah, what they will be. I'm not I'm gone. And the backlash is actually pretty positive. I thought the people of the Reader of the Observer probably weren't gonna be positive, but they were. I have a hard time seeing them being positive, but this one, because I don't have a good I didn't have a great feeling about it. To your point earlier, it was a pay per view, yeah, real quickly. I did watch the other two pay per views. I know you probably didn't. Absolutely I made a point of not watching right. Of course, it's also has some cost aspect to it as well, so you really have to dedicate your time if you're going to buy it. But it was a John Moxley bled there was a lot of chaos going on, and it was just an aw pay per view. So what if we're just like a W. Yeah, okay, sorry, no, I was just saying, if you like a W, then this is the greatest thing ever. If you're trying to figure out what's going on, storylines and stuff, you probably are lost more than before. So so let me I'll put like I said, I always put the question back to you, knowing you watched the pay per view, knowing what was on it. Do you feel you've got anything different on the pay per view than you do on the regular TV shows? Longer, matches, longer, yeah, longer, less less segments, right, something like that. They get the being your longer. Monsley's bleeding. This one's doing this. We have the great athletic stuff, incredible moves, and but I didn't watch the pay per view because you had to pay for it per se. I've watched it because I'm not invested in anything that's that's happening. I'm not invested in Chris Jericho and Roderick Strong. I'm not invested in in these things. And yeah, yeah, and you know the thing with Adam Cole and I'm I'm just not invested in what they're doing. And I think that's because they do that to us. They do that, and you you've said it, and I think that a lot of people that's been the been the opinion. If you're an a W fan, you're an a e W fan, no matter what it is. And that's there's nothing wrong with that. But to if you want to compare and if you want to do apples to apples and all these things, they've got to do a better job at getting getting people invested in it. And you know, it is what it is. It's not at all appealing to a casual I get it, they're more PG. Thirteen and stuff, but it's not appealing for a casual view or flipping through channels. Yeah, I mean, it's just it's kind of is what it is. Like I said, I don't want to talk. I'm always people think I absolutely, Hey, aw, it's not not the case. I do like watching the matches, but I'm not invested in it. To your point, what I was saying, it's not that you're a chief skate, but you aren't going to spend money on something that you didn't right, Yeah, like yeah like. And then I think that's the challenge for a lot of people, right, And we had that challenge in WCW. There was a lot of times, but we didn't do anything to make people want to buy that pay per view because you know, you could see it on a Monday night or a Thursday thunder or you know, whatever it was. And I think that's the same scenario. It's not a knock going to talent the people what they're doing, they're taking their opportunities, they're running with it. But you have to be a serious a W fan to be invested in that. And I'm not sure if they're invested in the matches or they're just invested in a e W in the style of you know what's going on, it's a it's I think it's right now. It's a niche group they have, and I think that's probably why it's so disheartening because the talent pool there is unbelievable. Yeah, you know, it's like one of the things I get to sit back because I'm not involved and say, I don't think they're utilizing it to the best of their ability. You're gonna you always have Chris Jericho try to elevate everybody he's with, and he always does. You're gonna have Moxie go out there and give one hundred and ten percent, but he's always gonna be bleeding. You have the Lucadors and doing their thing, and these guys doing their thing, and you have Jarrett and and uh you forgot about the exploiting super Kicks and the young Bucks. It's it's great stuff. If I'm gonna watch it just to watch it, okay, but I'm not gonna pay extra, like I want someone to make me pay for it. That's when I'm really invested in what's going on. Otherwise I know I can see it, and that's like the wc W reference I had, Like I know I could see it on Monday or Thursday, so there's no need to really catch up. I'm not missing any part of the story if I don't. If I missed the paper view. You know, I'm caught up again on Rampage or Dynamite or whatever. Bob Orton's cast actually had a two part question in relation to a W. One of them was your opinion on Sabo making the last second appearance that he did on Dynamite. The second one was about Chris Jericho. You touched up on this. Bob Orton's cast was curious, So why do you think every not everybody. A lot of people are down on Chris Jericho saying that he's burying everybody that he's working with. You just said that he's putting everybody over and building and building up everybody. Why is there this common thought out there that Chris Jericho is burying these young talent. See. But I think that's an AEW mentality the a E W fan. I think if you look at I look at I don't look at rustling as a w EC WWW. I look at wrestling as wrestling, right. There's different versions of it, there's different characters, all these things. I don't think I have yet to think that Jericho has buried younger talent. If you go back the history of a w n C who he's worked with, who he's paired himself with the groupings he's had. I think he's lifted everybody up. He's Darby Allen, he's had a run with He's obviously had Samy Gabart with him the whole time. Yes, I seve with MJF. Yeah, he's he's he's brought everybody up to a different level and a different way of thinking. So I think everybody he's working Orange Cassidy. I mean, he's worked with everybody there, and nobody's for me. Nobody's worse off for the wearer. So I think Jericho has done a yeoman's job in what he's doing. And I'm probably in the minority from what it sounds like, but I would never say that he's torn younger talent apart or holding batter beat, you know, just making him look like crap. To answer the other part of what was the first part of it again, save Yeah, I think Tony Kahn's great at one night, Pops, you are you? So are we led to believe that Sabo's now part of the company, whether it's sporadically or whether it's full time, and what is contribution going to be? Because as great as Sabo was can he hang with these guys and still do that stuff? Now? Will will it diminish his legacy, his character, his persona? So I think I think Tony conn is great at the one night Pop bringing back Page it was a moment, you know, yeah, it was. It was a cool moment. Where's it gonna go from here? And I'm not invested until I know that Saboo's gonna come back and do a B or C. I will say one thing about aw, poor Jeff Harready had a few rough spots last in the last week man slipping on the ropes. He how hard is it to try to continue to do that at his age after especial what his body's been through. Well, yeah, I think it's it's at Hardy's kind of evolved, right, Like Matt Hardy had this whole second run as Matt Hardy and moving on where he's not really been that. But this is Jeff Hardy. I mean, like this is his good to always. That's got to be challenging, man. Yeah, so what is he? What is the evolution of that character? And then you you know, and and Here's where I'm gonna get in trouble. But am I wrong in saying all those things that slipped up on that night, do you start thinking what kind of shapes in and I'm not talking about physical right, Is he back on the road again? And then these things you know, is a coincidence or whatever? These things? But to your point, and that's a side note, that's just me being honest, you know, with the history of it, um, but Matt has evolved his character, his personas his physicality. He's adapted to what he can physically do on a nightly basis, and it's brilliant. And so you gotta wonder, do you think Jeff would be given the same um consideration or with fans completely crap on it. So that's that's probably a big tug of war for Jeff and the people in creative and things like that. Am I letting people down by evolving? Or do I do these things now and tarnished you know, what's left of my in ring career. So that's that's a tough one. Um. As as an old guy, I always I never wanted to go out there and have those moments where I didn't look like I could do it again every night. Um. So that's that I know, that's a struggle for for a lot of men and women. I'm not sure how it plays out for Jeff, but it was very odd to see more than one. You know, it just turned into a like that domino effect of things that were yeah, yeah, and I I hate that word box, but that's the that's the term everybody uses now. But it's one of those things like evolved, and Matt's been one of the top most brilliant people doing it. And so I wonder if it's just a conversation of is this Jeff trying to not let his fans down or do they not want to see him involved and still beat Jeff Hardy but evolve into someone who can be consistent, you know, night in the night out, and then pull the rabbit out of your hat every every once in a while when it's important. You know, I was the first one of the first people to publicly I'm gonna say that it probably wasn't I did go out of the record and say, hey, you got Jeff Hardy. You probably could get a couple of main event matches out of him rather than this tag team thing. Again. Yeah, but in order to do that, he would have to he would have to do something a little bit different. He mightn't be able to always rely on jumping onto that rope at any instant. And I sure hope this last I assume it's going in towards the end of his last run and wrestling. I sure hope he can have some good moments. Yeah, because you don't want to leave it tarnished. And like I said, you know old school mentality is you know, because he is Jeff hardy, he doesn't need to pull out all the stops every night, his entrance to music, his energy, and wait till the big matches, wait till the big pay per views, wait till the payoffs and things like that, and then come and do the whirling dervish and all the things that people want to see. Because otherwise, I think that's what a w does is they give it to everybody every day. So I don't need the hardy boys anymore. Man, I don't need the hardy boys. I don't need the Dudley boys. I think bully Ray actually on his own, what he did was amazing. Austin Area and Austin Arias and I discussed that that really that second when Willen bully Ray went to Tena, the work that he did was incredible. Yeah. I don't need the hardies, man, I don't. I don't need that nostalgia anymore. Or and if it's going to be a nostalgia, it can't be a long term thing. Yeah, So we keep one offs where people come back. Yeah, I totally agree, totally agree. We'll move on. And this is actually a neat thing for Vince McMahon's mustache. Bill will end the when the evening on a fun note here Vince Vicmann's mustache. Of course, on Twitter, he pulled out some information here and one of them what you thought about it? So, as of the time he sent this email going back to the seventh, it was a anniversary of this event in the year two thousand. On May seventh, WCW Slamboree two thousand. It's a pay per view event United States Title match. Scott Steiner defeats Captain Recchin this card. This card consisted of Chris Candino, the Artist, Terry Folk, and Norman Smiley, Sean Stacyak, Kurt Henny. Obviously you were fourth on the card with the US title matcher. You lost to Scott Steiner. My awesome MC canyon, Lex Luguer, Buff Bagwell, Shane Douglas, Ric Flair, Sting, Vampiro, Billy Kidman, Haul Coogan, Interesting and Jeff Jared versus David Arquett and Diamond Alas Page. Do you remember this evening that was the first so Booker Booker got injured. I think he had a concussion from whether it was the live events we're building into the pay per view. I wasn't on the pay per view. Wasn't even a thought. This was just at the incarnation of the Misfits, So we definitely weren't a thought in being in any programs ornything. They came up to me, and I think you and I talked about this offline at one point, maybe we didn't. They came up to me and asked me if I wanted to work. Well, hell yeah, okay, but we're gonna change your character and we want to you know, we want to do this. And one night, one night only, they gave me this promo, first time they ever gave me a promo on paper. This is the bullet point, this is what would like you to say. So I literally went out there and so then it's against Scott Steiner us title or not. I every time I worked with Scott or Rick. Amazing time, my life, great physical, great, always had a great time. Yeah, never worry. But now it's for the US title. So in my mind and going okay, maybe there's going to put some eyes on me. But here's this promo. I want everybody to start taking me more seriously. And I no longer want to be called Hugh Morris. I want to be called by my real name, Hugh g Direction. That's how they announced me going into the pay per view, even on the bottom third ugrection. So we go out. That being said, I'm like, do I argue this point? Are you guys kidding me? What is it? They swar to me up and down ed Ferrara Vince Russo one night, just tonight, just tonight, introduced this thing. Great, I'm in go out with Scott. I feel like we had a better than decent match and came out of it. Bill, Bill, we have Dave Meltzer's Radiants on the match. If you would like, let me find it here. One and three quarters stars. Let's look here. I'm guessing that the print is tiny. Is that three and three fourths or three and one fours? You have cracked a three star Barrier with Dave Meltzer there. The riding is so tiny, I can't tell if it's one we had. We had a really good match. Um right, Yeah. It was in Kansas City City and the what is it called the h Kemper Arena is what it was? Yeah, yep, Kansas City, Missouri, yep, YEP Attendant seven thousand, one hundred and sixty five. Yeah, and it was. It was a good night I had, and I really appreciate the opportunity lo and behold. I didn't realize the next night on Nitro I was coming out to face. Uh, I think it was Sean Stasiak or Curd heating one of the two and what's on the bottom third Huge direction. So I had to call my mom and literally had to call grown man. Had to call my mom and say, don't watch TV tonight. Let me explain to you what's going to happen at the pay per view. This at the pay per view. And I told it's just a one night thing. Well, they watched it, and you know, my dad thought it was funny and all that stuff. But then there was the next night again that it was you know, huge direction that became Captain direction and then it became a general direction the huge jury reaction. H that's pretty neat though, that that's that's pretty neat that he pulled this off from the archives. Seriously, Yeah, you still he still blew John con in Austin theory out of the water the WrestleMania match per Dave Miltzer. No, that's you know what's funny about that. It's like, that's one of the things I remember most about my time. You know, you forget a lot of the matches and all these hundreds and everywhere you've been, but I remember I didn't know the date or was that long ago, but it was really a lot of fun. But that was the that was the incarnation of huge direction. David Arquette chat us up about that interactions with him being around him. How is he so the guy you saw on TV? Was the guy who he is the guy on that movie Ready to Rumble. That's who he is. He's a fan, he's he's to me, He's a positive cab. He was always sociable, really enjoyed having him around. You know. It was a different kind of energy. He was a guy really wanted to be there, which at that time was very rare. You know, other people had to be there, would lose their job. David wanted to be there. Um watching him become world champion. I don't know. It was the same as watching Judy Badwill become Tag team champion. It just he didn't want it though either. I don't know. I don't know how it helped anything. But that's that's where we were at the time. You really didn't go, why are we doing this? He went off, crap, you know, here's here's the next thing. So he's really built a body of work. On his last run, he cracked the PWI and really I saw a few things not bad. Yeah, I mean he wasn't He's he's definitely no knowledgeable. He's in the last five years his last run. Have you seen anything, Yeah, crack, like I've seen some of the I wish I didn't see some of the glass bulbs and all that nonsense. But yeah, that's you know, but he that's how he got himself back on the back on the map. And but he's really a fan. He's wrestling. IQ is really strong. He's a good guy. I enjoyed seeing him around. I don't know, you know, I would say I didn't agree with the whole him, you know, at the top of the mountain. But it sounds like he was pretty skeptical of that too. He was yeah, yeah, like everything throughout the years, he's just saying like, are you sure this doesn't doesn't seem like a very good idea? Yeah, because he was a fan of the business, right he's doing. Really this is where we're gonna going. Okay, I think a good guy, good energy around that time, and it's a bad things were going down, and he was kind of a good change of heart. Yeah, he was. He really was. And um, like I said, my interactions with him were short and you know, it's very cordial. Um, but he made time for anybody to talk to him because of this basically he's a star in the you know, celebrity world, but really a good positive energy and he was He was a lot of fun to be around. It was contagious because he was like really into, really into that stuff. So good guy, Oh, good guy. Another fun episode, Bill, Man, we're already passed an hour and a half here talking about Night of Champions and then some other listener questions. Man, again, Bill, this was a fun one. Dude, what do you think? Yeah, I think there's the preconceived notion that people we got to talk about this, we gotta talk about that. What I like about how you lead the discussion and how we get going is you allow me, because I've you know, been hit ahead a few times over the years, you allow me to drift from the main question into it and we always segue back to it. But I feel like, one I hope we drop a little bit of knowledge, you know, as anything else wrestling an opinion. But this is fun, dude, and you really just I feel like you set me up to sound smarter than I am as far as wrestling. But I really enjoy these, man. I enjoy the questions. I wasn't sure how I felt about the questions. I really enjoy the questions. I like that. I look forward to when we start having some guests. Is going to be be cool. But I really like going, you know, going through these pay per views and the shows and the storylines and the companies and the characters. Man, and you're doing what you do is outstanding, and I just appreciate it. It's a lot of fun for me, man, it really is. I appreciate you too, man, I do have I am in the process of writing an episode for the US the title A deep dive into that title. I think that'll be fun. Well, Bill and I are a little behind. We got to get caught up. I don't know what we're gonna do for next week, but I do have that on the slate for next time we record. Less something crazy happens, but hey, we can squeeze it in like we always do with the stuff. So yeah, we'll have this week. You'll have this episode this week when we actually recorded it, and we'll see how we kind of rebound here what we want to do with next week. But yeah, man, the next time you and I meet, we'll probably be in a deep dive into the US title, So right, look forward to it. Yeah, yeah, of course check out buildumot dot com. We've got videos. All the YouTube videos are up there, and all the episodes audio are up there. Got build him on experience on YouTube you want to contact us, build hm ont pod at gmail dot com or of course podcast father. That's me and build um ont on all social media platforms that I cover. That pretty well, You got that really good? Now you've got it down now, Yeah, I've got it down now. Maybe too much anyways, So Bill Man as always, it was a blast. Thank you for everybody listening and going along this experience with us right on. Thank you Man. I look forward to the next episode you meet too, Man. But until then, keep being you, everybody, keep being great. Shake a shake a little kim, take a little chance on the right. Ton't let no one kid, Don't let my molly. If you'll love Man, your swat to be shining, make the best to yourself to spread this show. If you're all out the true Shadows, town Room, Wattle Things, Jeff Counting, Media bat
